Former Thai Social Development and Human Security Minister, Watana Muangsook, was sentenced to 50 years in prison for corruption related to the Baan Eua Arthon low-cost housing project. Initially found guilty in September 2020, Watana was convicted on multiple counts of corruption, with individual sentences totaling 99 years. However, under Thai law, the maximum imprisonment for such offences is capped at 50 years. Another opportunity to scam goes begging?

  15. Wrongful conviction. Good behaviour. Presumably wrongful conviction would require a retrial and good behaviour hardly 'demands' a pardon.....reduced time possibly.
