Called Chaiyaphum for three consecutive days to find out if my extension was ready for collection......engaged tone. Finally got through Friday am......I explained my extension is due on Sunday, can I collect it Monday....yes, but you will be fined 500 baht for being late.....and 500 baht every day after that. Jumped in the car.

Likely to come to a sticky end doing that and driving.

Staying in an excellent resort at the moment 350 baht/night. Individual chalets, fridge, WiFi, TV, private parking, maid service every other day. Very clean, tidy....and my number one desire.....quiet. Would happily live here if the wife hadn't gone and bought me a house.

That's a new one.........wherever did they get the idea that barring someone from leaving the country might be a good idea?
