    The hills surrounding us....clear as anything last week....have now disappeared.

    Bars closed early...invited to jump in a car with four young Thai men and women.....drove to a deserted multistory...about five floors up.......walked to the far end, opened up some tarpaulins......bar, pool table, music, fussball, place was packed......and that was last I can recall of the night......not idea how I got home.

    i remember queuing all night to get tickets for the Boro v Oxford Utd 1966/7 ish?......bloody near froze to death. It was so crowded we were allowed to sit on the edge of the pitch.....think Boro won 3-2 and went up that season. "Big John" was the centre forward

    Who the hell takes their wife and kids to Pattaya............? Even in BKK I see mid-forties/fifties farangs their with their similarly aged farang wive's.....why? They are just torturing themselves as they walk past the bars.......you can see their eyes flicking left and right...poor s**s

    No one knows how it is to be funded, who will get the money, how and where they can spend it and on what.......and, most importantly, what the real impact of the handout will be on the Thai economy. If he thinks that is "well thought out" ...God helps us

    So sad to think politicians believe the issuing of an act achieves anything.........nothing, absolutely nothing will change. I know this isn't an airport, but I think it will have to be the UK Feb to May.

    In Isaan.....blue sky, intense heat everyday.....slightly cooler on a morning, 26C at 6am.....but still grinds you down.

    Very little of the rice stubble is burned where we are....it is just left......the wife claims (and she is never wrong) that the burning is intense around BKK because they are greedy and try to squeeze out three or four crops a year.
