100%......I know it has been said many times before that the bar scene is dying........but this time it really seems to be the case.........with just a few exceptions.
Lot of people on the street walking nowhere and buying nothing.
Lots of family types....why come to soi 4 thru soi 20+?
Soi 7 was up and coming, but is dying a death now........the odd bar seems to be very popular.........but the vast majority must be in desperate straits
This 'super app' is now going to be used for many other purposes I imagine .........purely in an effort to strengthen state control over its people.......and not to benefit its citizens.
Same every year, but can get more onerous.
Couple of years ago we had to drive three sets of neighbours to immigration to be interviewed......last year I had a 20 min interview....father's name? Mother's maiden name?.....how many siblings?.....Brother's middle name.....
..................AND this was conducted by the same officer we see every year........and we've been married for 17 years.
I trust this drive to digitize will be fully backed up by paper copies in triplicate......one copy of which will go straight in the bin............. right in front of your eyes.
Tricky getting the balance right I guess.....nationalism-jingoism-indoctrination
I remember my father being furious at the quote "My country (America) right or wrong".....Carl Schurz
Very, very close one night......Charlie Hotel.....not sure it's still there.
I'd picked up a girl whose 'boyfriend' (back in the UK) happened to have a friend in the bar spying on her.....the 'boyfriend' instructed his mate to attack me......but like any sensible coward I wormed my way out of it.
The point is....you can.....it reflects human nature...wanting to be in a gang.....from a couple to a family group to a village to county to a nation......and so on.....there are endless examples of gangs.,,,,of which nations are the biggest.
Wow....Interesting......so they can avoid frontline action even though conscripted? Are there any subtle forms of punishment for refusing or are they not even asked, during their one year, to serve on the frontline?
