  1. Obviously the "laws" in Thailand can change in an instant and it's completely up to the authorities how they wish to enforce them. Even this completely one-sided article from a pro-drug website admits that bringing weed in luggage is causing delays in security lines due to lack of testing equipment. It's not a stretch to see this, as well as the attendant unpleasant smell, as sufficient grounds for "causing a nuisance" and incurring a significant fine for druggies, even incarceration if the laws are suddenly changed overnight. Or worse, corrupt airport security demanding for massive bribes so you aren't cited or jailed. That is the reality. Of course, if you want to listen to the advice of a bunch of potheads on the internet and risk your freedoms carrying narcotics on a commercial flight, it's up to you. Incredibly stupid risk IMO when the drug product is available at pretty much any destination in the country. Seems like the druggies can't wait even a few hours to ingest this supposedly non-addictive drug.
  2. What ramifications? You haven't said anything of substance, just promoting Refer Madness propaganda like a Karen.
  3. This link is absurd antivax conspiratorial garbage, per the usual on this forum. Thank god they removed a nut job like you who spread vile propaganda instead of focusing on PASSENGER SAFETY.
  4. It is most likely "Ông tây". I think "Ôm Tây" would mean something closer to "hug the west". To say "hug a westerner" you'd have to add subject context such as "ôm một người tây" or something like that.
  5. Said the guy who thinks The Catholic Church is a good place to get medical information. ????????
  6. I was talking about when EXPATS got PFE jabs, not the hiso-govt officials. Yes everyone knows they got the priority, that was part of the well-documented controversy. Not sure what the latter group has to do with anything since this is a expat forum not one for Thai Govt officials?? Just an FYI, social media not a credible source of information. My posts are based on the reality of living here, not browsing facebook. Actually he CONFIRMED my info was correct: he had to wait for 6 months! "We just got ours, but had no luck before the 6 month date."
  7. So now we're trusting organized religion, progenitors of the most egregious misinformation and human suffering ever, to tells what constitutes misinformation and human rights violations? What a clown show.
  8. Yes and if you were here you would know that the PFE rollout for expats was very slow did not even begin until later in August, which was the cause of great controversy. You would understand what a struggle it was for folks here to get their initial doses amidst a massively botched vaccination program. It wasn't "easy peasy" like in the US. If you had actually received your 2X PFE here, and not in the US, you would understand this situation. Unfortunately you just don't seem to be able to parse the pertinent details. EDIT: Just read on another thread were you stated "We just got ours, but had no luck before the 6 month date. Even after 6 months, it was difficult." Suffice to say you've lost all credibility.
  9. Which hospital? I've contacted several who all say I must wait 6 months and/or are sold out.
  10. People didn't start getting PFE here until late August this year, thus NO ONE who received it in Thailand is eligible.
  11. It may have been "super easy" for you, but that's anecdotal at best since you did not receive your initial shots in BKK. Yes boosters are available here for some, but NOT folks who got 2X PFE here are not eligible for boosters at this time as has been relayed by several in this forum. I've made at least 20 inquiries and all say the same thing. You can ignore specifics and repeat "super easy" over and over again but it doesn't make it true.
  12. Article is paywalled but seemingly written with a complete lack of awareness of noted loose compliance/enforcement. And in their warning they've failed to identify the salient risk/scam for foreign tourists which isn't mask laws but testing positive and being detained your entire vacation at significant personal expense. Great journalism.
  13. He's talking about the US where it's five months per CDC. For some reason this poster is always talking about vaccinations in the US despite the utter irrelevancy to the situation in Thailand.
  14. So first you say it's "super easy" and then admit you are a rare exception. I'm sure some squeak by one way or another but the party line from every one I called has consistently been "wait 6 months" and I assure you it is anything but "super easy" in Bangkok. Of course it is unlikely anything will actually be available once the 6 month timepoint is reached if past experiences are any indication. This is why people think about "getting omicron over with" rather than dealing with the endless waiting game... Maybe these folks should focus on actually getting people boosters. The whole thing is specious because if actually they cared about keeping people out of hospitals they'd stop the forced admission of asymptomatics.
  15. This is about "jabs" in Thailand, not US. For those who received 2X PFE late summer in THAILAND (not US), we are not offered boosters at this time. US experience irrelevant. Which assertions(s) are you talking about? No it's not "gossip". I've contacted numerous places in Bangkok and none offer boosters for 2X PFE in Thailand, they all say they will provide booster after 6 months. Even PFE says their vaccine is not adequate against omicron after 3 months. In the past month several asymptomatic folks in my building alone have been hospitalized. That is not "gossip", you are 100% incorrect and it's been covered in many threads here. Something is not "gossip" or "inflammatory" just because you don't agree. BTW, I didn't advocate for folks intentionally getting sick, just pointing out the glaring disconnect between the draconian hospitalization policy vs inadequate booster program in Thailand. It creates a quagmire for those of us who want additional protection from a booster when they are not available, and may need to travel etc. Thus it's quite specious to offer opinion piece that is filled with endless "maybes" when boosters aren't available to all of those who seek them in the first place. And BTW, I thought literature like the OP posted is supposed to be supported by credible scientific literature? The only reference offered in the entire article is from April 2021, about 6 months before Omicron was detected in SA. This an opinion piece masquerading as valid medical information. If any of the antivaxers infesting this forum were to post an article with valid citations it would be deleted quickly.
  16. Not for 2X PFE recipients, read more carefully. It's basically a poorly researched opinion piece rife with weasel words and statements like "know one knows....". This thread is about the article, not your unnamed "experts". Not sure why folks can't finally admit Omicron is mild for just about everyone. My point is propaganda efforts like this have no credibility when not backed by action. This is why some are just resigned to catching the current variant.
  17. So if boosters are so great why aren't they offered to those who were vaccinated 2X with Pfizer here?
  18. "Over it" yet posting on the covid forum obsessively like a child posessed.
  19. Incorrect baby boy. You're just afraid to answer a valid question concerning your unhealthy obsession with covid.
  20. If you don't care about COVID then why are you obsessively posting about COVID all the time in this forum?
  21. What gave you the idea the vaccines are "untested"?
  22. There is absolutely no new information offered in this article by the CEO who is obviously engaged in a promotional effort on a financial news channel (which is fine, it's his job to pump the company which is certainly a respected frontrunner). All he's doing is reiterating the scientific consensus that this variant looks quite bad on paper, just as WHO has. Nothing he says casts doubt on the SA MD who simply reported their real-world clinical experience with a small group of young patients infected with the new variant. Not sure why some are so quick to dismiss what this clinician reported, I have seen nothing to suggest compromised credibility. To my knowledge there are scant data on clinical outcomes from this variant to date, which seems the real story. It's early days and we just have to wait for more robust data.
  23. He already volunteered this information and actually seems to be taking very responsible precautions.
