I intend to be living in Viet Nam within the next 4 years when the kid finishes school.

But with that sort of income I'd live in Singapore.

Outside of Asia - Cyprus, Greece or Italy

with only US$260k income you can't obtain permission to live in Singapore. in Greece and Italy the taxman would claw nearly 50% of your income! back to reality please.

Bht 600 is 150 units a month at 4 Bht per unit. That's 5, yes 5 units a day. If you have an a/c on 8 hours every night cycling at say 500 watts average, that's 4 of your units. A floor fan takes 50 watts, fridge about the same, electric showers are 3kW, I think your meter is broken....ask for a new one !

Think your only pulling numbers outa your ass, you don't know any of the characteristics of the room, or the size of the unit, or any water heater usage, or any fridge details, you just like to write stuff for the hell of it.

no mate, he is not. you are one of the typical posters in a dozen "how much for electricity?" who are pulling numbers out of their (_!_) :whistling:

I would think a horizontal one would be easier since you'd be lying on your back.

About the water, a filter for the incoming water is around 20k, I got one of those "Master" brand filters. Water in tank is pristine.

Never actually seen a horizontal tank. A stainless steel shop should be able to take a vertical one, weld the cap shut and make a new cap on the side.

there are a dozen companies in Thailand who produce horizontal tanks. but all commercial high volumes, i.e. 12,000 liters and more.

upright tanks can't be installed horizontal without a concrete bed supporting minimum half of the circumference to avoid collapsing.

Our Lady Neighbour has one of those Huge Porche SUVs, to old to bother wit names n numbers, its like a great White Whale, a most hideous thing to me. Shes not though.:partytime2:

the most hideous thing is a Porsche Cayenne which is smaller than the most favoured SUVs in Thailand. by the way, some homes have "porches", the cars made in Zuffenhausen, Germany are called Porsche.

The other day, a middle aged Thai teacher who makes 50,000 THB asked me for a personal loan. Huh? ???? Can't he get money @ 1.x % apr?!?

no he can't. don't assume but inform yourself about debit interest rates in Thailand.

unfortunately your question does not apply. we are nearly 14 years in Thailand and owned nine cars. the oldest car is my wife's CLS (4½ years).

sorry, you mean that you never kept a car long enough to change the bat ? and the one that you changed on the benz, how long did you use it ? thanks
