Dot com sub prime and the next is coming so everyone is saying.
dot com wasn't a crash like subprime which affected virtually all financial assets, causing an international banking crisis and bank collapse. really burnt were only greedy investors in dot com stocks.
i agree that the next one is coming. this is only a matter of time.

Facing reality is pretty good therapy. You should try it. Along with some serious research into Islam, what it is, how it operates, etc.
research into Islam will vindicate Maassen's utmost stupid behaviour?

The deal allows each of the three parties to claim it got what it wanted. But opposition parties were quick to denounce the deal as a face-saving measure that effectively amounted to a promotion for Maassen.
with an increase of his annual salary by €UR 30,000.- !

QuoteIs going back home easier said than done?
yes it is! twice a year i'm travelling for a week to Germany mainly to visit family. wife books the flights and packs the suitcases. after three interesting days spent with brother, sister-in-law, nephews, half a dozen beautiful wellbred dogs plus an exhausting fourth day buying around 60-80kg of food stuff i start counting the hours left till we leave the depressing home country and fly back to our 'real' home Thailand.

And what about if you have earned income generated in thailand?
then you pay income tax in Thailand. better having income generated in Singapore and living in Thailand = no income tax!

I find it really sad that a simple discussion relating to air conditioning, like so many other benign topics here on TV, can descend so quickly into petulant bickering and boorishness, almost like internet road-rage.
It's like you're all eight year old's in the back seat of a car.
simple discussion don't lead to negative development. wrong and misleading advice should be denounced.

I'm certain that Europeans have similar dishes that don't appeal to everyone but that is much loved by the locals.
you are right! there's a dish served in southern Germany which i like very much. but eating it i am neither able look at the plate nor at the spoon. the latter i guide to my mouth closing my eyes.
p.s. when my wife saw me eating that dish the first time she was horrified and exclaimed "you are not sleeping in our bed tonight!"

Oh yes, and just to add, yesterday at Booths supermarket we found probably the best steak and kidney pie I've ever tasted, absolutely wonderful, try finding this bad boy in Thailand
try finding something yuckish like this in one of the civilised countries of Central Europe.

A cautionary tale? More like a stupid post.
So, he was expecting that everyone bows to him and his glorious return after he mongered in Thailand for many years including his family who, god forbid.... had a job.
The female company that he so missed back in his home country will be available in Thailand for him as soon as he opens up his wallet.
a most stupid comment. what are the options of a man in his eighties than to open his wallet should he desire female company younger then 70?

Another valuable comment on this thread, criticises and offers nothing else.
Laugh all you want, the only thing I made a mistake with was i said my 9k unit, actually its a 12k unit and for my 200bt extra, i ran it for 21 days through the night only.
Its safe to say tgat 200bt isnt much more than the cost of a ceili g fan over the same period.
what part of my comment
Quotei consider it a waste of time to go into details.
is it you don't understand?

our bedroom is cooled down to 18-20ºC. when we go to bed big unit is switched off and small unit on set to 26ºC. the room warms up over the hours as our bodies demand it. small unit kicks in when temp reaches 26º. never had any "too dry" problem. relative humidity in bedroom is never below 55%.

Is there a trick or method to not have an aircon dry out all the air? I don't see any extracter fan or whatever, if there should be one.
no trick/method available. aircons dry out the air by condensing humidity of the room air on the cold evaporator from where it is drained through a pipe. no need for any extractor fan/gadget. you can reduce the drying function by running the fan at a higher speed and/or increase the temperature setting.

I was referring to personal income tax, I moved to Thailand many moons ago due to the ridiculously high personal income taxes in the UK, the saving pays for the many goods that cost far more here in Thailand.
for many goods? it pays for each and every Baht of our living expenses in Thailand plus, on top of it, there's even a decent bundle left.
