Ocean travel is much more environmentally damaging than air travel. Ocean liners generally twice as polluting for a given distance. So yeah, just imagine 100 million tourists arriving by boat........ -

Sure, but 100 baht is a lot to waste on a disposable kid. Think of how many packs of cigarettes that would buy!!! Priorities, man, priorities. https://www.lazada.co.th/products/fine-household-2-12-i4356829478-s17363596653.html? -

I was cycling across southern China, out in the rice terraces, a family with a 4-yr old on a motorcycle ran into a ditch in front of me, low speed, nothing broken. I helped dad pull the bike back on the road, used my first aid kit to clean them up. Dad offered to pay me. I was going to decline at first, but decided to charge him 50 RMB. (~250 baht). Before the drove off, I asked them to do me a favor. Gave the 50 to mom and had her promise to buy a kiddie helmet for the kidlet. -

You can exist on any budget. Pay a rice farmer 500 baht to live in his lean-to in the rice field. No electric bill. Free paddy water. Frogs and snakes and feral cats are delicious. Collect bottles and cans for recycling to pay cell phone bill. Earn a few bucks a month streaming your life live on HoboTube. -

Charging for services in Thailand - increasing the prices?
NoDisplayName replied to OneMoreFarang's topic in General Topics
Easy. "Everything I pay for has gone up, too - gas, water, rent, electric, food. Remember paying 25 baht/liter for gasoline in 2016? I do, and I haven't raised my rates since then!" -
Over 1,000 detained in Thai nominee crackdown on foreign businesses
NoDisplayName replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
What about the scaremongers last year who said the authorities would go after nominee businesses operating illegally. Next year, when authorities do go after foreign home owners, the comment will be "so the scaremongers who said foreigners paying agents to bribe immigration officials were wrong...." -
Thai Tax Strategy Revamp: VAT Hike, Income Tax Cuts Proposed
NoDisplayName replied to snoop1130's topic in Thailand News
The most wealthy don't pay income tax. They keep their ill-gotten booty offshore, in coded accounts, under family trusts, with multiple ways of remitting funds as needed with minimal taxes. It's the mildly wealthy supporters of the most wealthy that will benefit from lower income tax rates. -

Not at all! I love a NASA not bloated with DEI hires. A NASA that prioritizes science over ideology. A NASA that could reach the moon with slide-rules and computers with less processing power than a mid-range cellphone. I skipped kindergarten to watch the moon landing live on the TV. They accomplished great things, in the olden days. Yet now they are unable to return stranded astronauts to Earth.

Who needs Musk when your $zillion space program has to rely on the soviets to bring your astronauts home? Musk is just another loser Trump fan boy, like, what's he ever accomplished? SpaceX launched 362 metric tons of payload to space in the third quarter of 2024, accounting for 85.7% of all global upmass. The company also conducted 518 launches, representing 63% of all space missions during this period. https://www.newsminimalist.com/articles/spacex-launches-86percent-of-global-payload-to-space-in-third-quarter-of-2024-452b896c

Rooms in older buildings aren't always advertised by agents. Best option is to find a suitable area, locate an interesting building, go into the ground floor lobby and check the bulletin board for sales ads. 70 meter apartments won't be as common. Look for an older building with 2 or 3 rooms on one floor. Add interior doorways. Many rooms in some of those buildings are owned by a few families, with some landlords managing 20-30 rooms.
