Unpleasant reading. Best not to read it.
Chris.B replied to swissie's topic in ASEAN NOW Community Pub
Some have no choice as either refused cover or quoted unreasonably high premiums because of age or prior medical conditions. Then the decision they have to make is, stay in their cold wet, home country twiddling their thumbs until its time to die or go somewhere in the sun and have a few pleasant years in the evening of their lives. ???? -

1,300 baht a week for age 63 with pre-conditions sounds very cheap to me. If I could pay that I would. Anyway lets see what you have to pay when you reach 70 years old and maybe have a couple more pre-conditions. ???? -

My wife says when buying gold a tax must be paid. This is in addition to the gold price displayed? I also understand, if paying by credit card a 3.5% charge is levied? Is there a website that displays the daily gold prices per baht weight for buying and selling? Also are there historic graphs of prices in baht weight available? The prices for gold displayed in the shops are for 23 carat gold only?

No, what's important is getting rid of the medical insurance requirement for the Thailand Pass for all Thai residents and ditching the 90 day reports.- 239 replies

What pre-existing medical conditions did you state? Have you had any operations within the last 12 months and declared that? Have you been to hospital, seen a doctor or been prescribed medicines in the last 12 months and declared that? Have you declared any physical disabilities? You cannot claim insurance is available when you haven't disclosed all the facts of your application!

and what about those who cannot get medical cover due to age or pre-conditions? They are not allowed to come to Thailand under your vision? -
It is. He said he didn't wait for the retirement desk.

How old are you?
-
Yes, but you need to wait a month for the stamp in your passport! ????

Why does everyone forget the guys who can't get insurance? There is an age limit on many policies so if you are too old you can't get insured. Also, if you have an existing medical condition(s) you can be denied insurance. Please don't answer that xyz insurance company will insure people upto XX years old. You will probably find if you have a single medical condition it's one strike and out! So what are these guys to do? The health insurance requirement for Thailand Pass doesn't make allowance for guys who cannot get insured.

"National – Prime Minister Prayut Chan-O’Cha yesterday, November 7th, has ordered relevant Thai agencies to improve the “Thailand Pass” system after multiple applicants reportedly did not receive the QR Code for checking in." ...and while they are at it, can they remove the requirement for health insurance for All residents.

British Foreign Secretary to visit Thailand this week
Chris.B replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
I need to check my calendar and email box for the British Embassy's dinner in honour of the esteemed Foreign Secretary. Hopefully a nice roast beef, roast potatoes and yorkshire pudding. ???? PS. If it is so important, why are they only sending a secretary?
