  1. Heinz Ketchup has gone up from B27 to B30 in Lotus big jump. Just an example
  2. Putin has done to Russia what many in the UK want. He has taken his country back to the 60's????
  3. Lazada https://www.lazada.co.th/products/hygge-hotel-towel-cotton-100-i3431790461-s12689945707.html?spm=a2o4m.searchlist.list.57.519df91eCHhxxR&search=1&freeshipping=1
  4. I was in a bar in Jomtien on Friday, usually the shutters come down dead on 11pm, but I was surprised that they kept serving this night At just before 12am two cops came in videoing everyone and looking in bins, never really bothered the customers, after about 20 minutes of phone calls they left and the bar carried on till about 12.30.am Apparently, Pattaya has a new "unofficial" 1am closing endorsed by the police. Any bar owners on here can confirm this?
  5. The Ukrainian President wants a NATO imposed no-fly zone, if they do it, then that WW3 starting, but they might as well do it, because at some point NATO will have to get involved. Putin is not going to stop now
  6. Limes at the local market near me, just went from B5 to B7, maybe its a seasonal thing
  7. This, at the moment, is only heading in one very bad direction. The effects will be worldwide not just Thailand. For me, the Russians I have met here are ok, not hot on manners, but that comes from their upbringing of not trusting any strangers I guess. I do feel for them a bit, as all they want is a nice holiday in the sun, like all of us. Several live in the same building as I with their young family It will take an uprising in Russia, and I can't see that happening anytime soon.
  8. Anyone know anything about this, my friend is flying out tomorrow, has his TP and has booked the 1st and 5th night, but someone sent him this.
  9. I love it in that area, mainly Thai's enjoying themselves, 7-Elevens serve beer till midnight and do a roaring trade the bottom of soi 5 Pratumnak, even have a mini beer garden . Even the cats and dogs get along together at that place
  10. The least Thailand can do is put a hold on Russian tourists, makes no sense to welcome them here while this is going on. It will ultimately be up to Russian population to kick out Putin, if they support him, they don't deserve nice holidays and western lifestyle
  11. Looks like Pattaya about to become a sandbox Can't post the link, I think it's a banned one, Pattaya One World News
  12. I thought there was a meeting today to discuss the 5th day rule?
  13. With the 3 shots and getting omi i read is the perfect defense for future Covid
  14. The original TP was ok as a temporary measure, but the 5th day test has now killed the already fragile tourism again, risks are too high with the infectious Omicron
  15. I think with the sanctions imposed, it would be very hard for Russian tourists to travel anywhere in the world including Thailand , except maybe Vietnam or North Korea So impact here, no Russians
  16. Open an account with only 500 baht. There is no limit on the number or amount of deposits, withdrawals and bill payments you can make. https://www.bangkokbank.com/en/Personal/Save-And-Invest/Save/Savings-Account 2. Foreigner without work permit Passport A reference letter issued by one of the following institutes or organizations or required document Embassy located in Thailand An overseas bank where the customer holds an account sent via SWIFT Trusted individuals such as a Bangkok Bank staff member or customer, director of a private company, permanent residence in Thailand, government or private educational institutes located in Thailand trusted by the Bank Trusted companies, e.g., an employment letter from the company if the customer is in the process of applying for a work permit. Document showing ownership of a fixed asset such as a condominium sale/purchase agreement (a condominium which is acceptable to Bangkok Bank) Or a property reservation agreement valued at 100,000 baht or more with a reference letter from the property developer that is acceptable to Bangkok Bank. Notes: Contact addresses for both Thailand and overseas must be provided (hotel and P.O. Box addresses are not acceptable). So you could go the overseas route, or if you know someone that already has an account, that's what I did. The thing is the branches want you to buy insurance for their kick back, that's why i mentioned be firm, banks need customers thats there business, insist head office told you that you could open there and show them the email, have you emailed them yet? If you have an overseas account, almost certainly would have swift, so could go that route
  17. Boris Johnson has declared that all coronavirus rules including self-isolation set to go from end of the month Denmark also, world is slowly getting back to normal, hopefully Thailand soon
  18. IMHO, If there are no more variants to set the world back again, come end of March, restrictions will be a lot less for incoming to Thailand
