I was in a bar in Jomtien on Friday, usually the shutters come down dead on 11pm, but I was surprised that they kept serving this night At just before 12am two cops came in videoing everyone and looking in bins, never really bothered the customers, after about 20 minutes of phone calls they left and the bar carried on till about 12.30.am Apparently, Pattaya has a new "unofficial" 1am closing endorsed by the police. Any bar owners on here can confirm this?

Assault on Kiev: Russian helicopters swoop above Ukraine's capital

The Ukrainian President wants a NATO imposed no-fly zone, if they do it, then that WW3 starting, but they might as well do it, because at some point NATO will have to get involved. Putin is not going to stop now -

Can Thailand really afford to stop exporting to Russia?
Seppius replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
This, at the moment, is only heading in one very bad direction. The effects will be worldwide not just Thailand. For me, the Russians I have met here are ok, not hot on manners, but that comes from their upbringing of not trusting any strangers I guess. I do feel for them a bit, as all they want is a nice holiday in the sun, like all of us. Several live in the same building as I with their young family It will take an uprising in Russia, and I can't see that happening anytime soon. -
Anyone know anything about this, my friend is flying out tomorrow, has his TP and has booked the 1st and 5th night, but someone sent him this.

Are we now feeling the effects of Ukraine's situation in Asia?
Seppius replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
The least Thailand can do is put a hold on Russian tourists, makes no sense to welcome them here while this is going on. It will ultimately be up to Russian population to kick out Putin, if they support him, they don't deserve nice holidays and western lifestyle -

The original TP was ok as a temporary measure, but the 5th day test has now killed the already fragile tourism again, risks are too high with the infectious Omicron -

Open an account with only 500 baht. There is no limit on the number or amount of deposits, withdrawals and bill payments you can make. https://www.bangkokbank.com/en/Personal/Save-And-Invest/Save/Savings-Account 2. Foreigner without work permit Passport A reference letter issued by one of the following institutes or organizations or required document Embassy located in Thailand An overseas bank where the customer holds an account sent via SWIFT Trusted individuals such as a Bangkok Bank staff member or customer, director of a private company, permanent residence in Thailand, government or private educational institutes located in Thailand trusted by the Bank Trusted companies, e.g., an employment letter from the company if the customer is in the process of applying for a work permit. Document showing ownership of a fixed asset such as a condominium sale/purchase agreement (a condominium which is acceptable to Bangkok Bank) Or a property reservation agreement valued at 100,000 baht or more with a reference letter from the property developer that is acceptable to Bangkok Bank. Notes: Contact addresses for both Thailand and overseas must be provided (hotel and P.O. Box addresses are not acceptable). So you could go the overseas route, or if you know someone that already has an account, that's what I did. The thing is the branches want you to buy insurance for their kick back, that's why i mentioned be firm, banks need customers thats there business, insist head office told you that you could open there and show them the email, have you emailed them yet? If you have an overseas account, almost certainly would have swift, so could go that route

IMHO, If there are no more variants to set the world back again, come end of March, restrictions will be a lot less for incoming to Thailand
