Extra-long weekend in Thailand: here’s what you need to know
From my recent experience in Pattaya, even the mum and papa are getting harder to find. The Thai market top of Pratumnak 5 used to sell on dry days, not any more, and another good standby is the red painted shop opposite Jomtien Plaza, always sold on these days, not any more. The so called Russian Market on Pratumnak 6 does have stalls that usually sell for take away

Can we state that tourism in Thailand is "sick"?
Jomtien and Pattaya have been dead, but I did notice it has seemed to pick up the last few days, Indians on the increase is one group I am seeing more of, after a lull. This long holiday will see Pattaya packed, I would say

What Movies or TV shows are you watching (2023)
Did anyone watch all of Quantum Leap? https://www.imdb.com/title/tt17043230/ Set 30 years after Dr. Sam Beckett stepped into the Quantum Leap accelerator and vanished, follows a new team that must restart the project hoping to understand the mysteries behind the machine and its creator. I started it, and gave up after 1 episode, then started again and really enjoyed it. It's like a new Dr Who regeneration every episode I imagine it was a big budget production going by the sets

Tops Mini outlets?
Not many around where I live that are handy, besides mostly they don't keep the beer very well at those shops, often frozen nearly, or the fridge has been turned on and off. 7/11 and the like keep the beer at the perfect temp

NGO says mercy killing of stray animals is strictly controlled by Thai government
It's a touchy subject, as we are seeing in these posts. Some people are dog lovers and hate to see them hurt, I have had dogs when I was young, but I hate the soi dogs after years of having problems with them. There has to be a good way to reduce their numbers. Between soi 5 and 6 Pratumnak, the soi that runs from the new big 7/11 on 5. There are 2 dogs down there chase bikes a lot, I won't drive down it. One black and a one tan

Putin 'purges three more generals' taking the total to be fired, suspended or vanished 'up to 11' as the Russian ruler continues to root out 'enemies' among his top brass https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-12304431/Putin-purges-three-generals-taking-total-fired-suspended-vanished-11.html Remind you of a certain 20th century despot? He kept firing his generals at the end

Is there a way to pay using phone via QR codes in 7-11s with local bank accounts?
Usually just for the vendor, well in the west anyway
-
General Prawit may emerge next week to clinch Prime Minister’s job due to a polarised parliament
Why? The last 7 years have probably been the most stable for Thailand in the last 4 decades

Is there a way to pay using phone via QR codes in 7-11s with local bank accounts?
Exactly, It's not a quick tap and go like in Europe. What's the matter with cash? There is an ATM outside just about ever 7/11, what could you be buying that you would need to card it? I might understand if it was for sales of thousands Baht, but buying your cheese toastie and a beer does not make sense yet in Thailand

Zelensky hits out at "absurd" NATO
Putin's own Generals and soldiers are saying what a shambles it all is, Where do you get your news from, RT? As I said before get on some Telegram groups, both Russian and Ukraine to see what's really happening, and the ground Ukraine is taking back "It would be stupid for Putin to try to control Ukrainian speaking areas" So what's the reason for Putin targeting Ukrainian cities and civilians with cruise missiles and drones every day? And did he not try to take Kyiv at the start of the special military operation https://www.ganjingworld.com/news/1g0bv212u2o65EO54NmhEu5je15l1c MOSCOW, July 13 (Reuters) - A Russian general said he had been dismissed as a commander after telling the military leadership about the dire situation at the front in Ukraine, where he said Russian soldiers had been stabbed in the back by the failings of the top military brass.

Facebook Hacked?
Good advice, in my case I can't even get in to close the account, no response from FB at all, so as you say given up on getting it back

Zelensky hits out at "absurd" NATO
You should join a few Telegram groups, both Russian and Ukrainian, plenty of action at the front, and Ukraine is pushing Russia back. Gained thousands of square kilometers back, and will soon take Bakmout The Russian army is in disarray, and actually getting slaughted, no or little chain of command, and just fired their top General. I predict the army will eventually have a proper coup
