    I don't know anyone that lives in a flea pit studio. The cheap accommodation that you often mention is living amongst the middle or lower class Thais - no thanks.

    Not really, you can send 2m or less overseas per time without any restrictions which soon adds up if you're doing it once a week or whatever.

    Parking at Thai side of bridge in Mukdahan is totally painless, very easy and your vehicle is under shade and protected. 250THB per 24 hours, hard to beat if you ask me.
