They have also recently opened their Urban Pizza franchise in Udon Thani. Only 5 types available but NO seafood cocktail, cheese-filled crusts and other abominations like their mother company serves. My new go-to delivery pizza via Grab with two 12" New York style pies for only 460 baht. Fill yer boots!

As a basic Margherita pizza kinda guy, that raised an eyebrow when I read that It's awesome. A Swedish guy who had a restaurant in Ban Chang many years ago introduced me to their pungent excellence. Blue cheese pepperoni or blue cheese Italian sausage...or BOTH. Since then, I have further pushed the envelope on an otherwise bland gastronomic pizza landscape in Thailand by adding blue cheese to my world-famous haggis pizzas.

I don't know what you're on about, mate. Are you saying tourists are not people? @moe666 said "Most tourist coming to Thailand only need 5 to 10 days at most..." You countered with the far broader demographic of "people from Europe stay an average of 17-18 days". Yes, tourists are people but not all people are tourists. Just because the TR visa is the only sort of visa that fits their circumstances doesn't mean they are tourists. Anyway, this thread is about the visa-waiver scheme which was extended as an incentive to tourism. It also benefited a bunch of people (not tourists) who, to quote @Trip Hop, normally "can’t be arsed applying for 60 day visas" or "losing a day at immigration for an extension". Hope this helps.

In addition to my other shorter trips at other times of the year, I normally visit for Xmas/New Year and stay the full 30 days. This time I decided to stay the whole 45 days just because the hassle free option was there. Many of my friends that I meet up with out there do the same and made the same decision to extend our stays for exactly the same reason. We all budgeted about B400k for the 6 weeks and we are tourists. However, if it stays at 30 days come this December, that’s what we’ll be coming for as we just can’t be arsed applying for 60 day visas in advance or losing a day at immigration for an extension? If you are au fait with "losing a day at immigration for an extension" and "can’t be arsed applying for 60 day visas", then I would say you aren't the "genuine tourist" that @JWNZ was referring to.

You're wrong, people from Europe stay an average of 17-18 days. Can you tell the difference between 'tourist' and 'people'? The long-stayers from Europe are probably what we used to call 'resident tourists'. You know, the under-50 set with condo's and girlfriends and bank accounts and a car on finance, etc..

Coming Soon to the AN ChatGPT System - You will be amazed!
NanLaew replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
It's ChatGPT sheesh... -
Probably VERY bureaucratic procedure since these sort of edicts ultimately need a vote and then get published in the Royal Gazette. But as noted earlier, there were probably far more important business prior to the dissolution of parliament ahead of the elections. True, but it's Malaysia and I doubt anyone chills there for three whole months.

Keeping American cell provider and phone number abroad

How can I recharge my PayGo plan? You can recharge your PayGo plan by: Visiting an Ultra Mobile Authorized Retailer Using PayGo Recharge cards available at T-Mobile retail stores Paying online via debit/credit card by logging into your account at my.ultramobile.com Contacting our Care Team at 888-777-0446 You can also set up your PayGo account to automatically Recharge your PayGo Wallet each month via credit or debit card. You can activate Auto Renew by completing the steps below. Log in to your account Add a credit or debit card under Billing Info Select “Auto Renew On” Choose $5, $10 or $20 for your Auto Renew denomination ($3 will automatically be applied to your monthly plan renewal) Click “Save Settings” Several of my friends in the US also have T-Mobile 'original' accounts and swear how easy they are to roam, here in Thailand and elsewhere and not overly expensive if one needs to make a call. On another note, I was locked out of my US eBay account yesterday (more than 90-days since last login) and it needed to send an authorization code to the number on file which was my old, expired Skype number. I called their 1-866 number using Vyke and was connected quickly with a human being where it was relatively easy to pass security screening and regain account access. I went to my account settings and changed the contact number to my Vyke number and eBay accepted it. The Vyke call cost about 7 cents. -
Koh Tao deaths and the mystery around them
NanLaew replied to scubascuba3's topic in Koh Samui, Koh Phangan, Koh Tao
Correct and if anyone wants to post counter-intelligence, they are free to do so. But in the end, opinions are just that: opinions. Most of them bereft of being built on anything sustainable, tangible, verifiable or true. However, if we can't resist putting our tuppence worth in, then try and be polite about it and not denigrate those holding a contrary opinion. -
Not in the Malaysian states that border with Thailand. Correct. I had to do covid quarantine in Tok Bali (Terengganu) and the only places where beer was a remote possibility was in the Malay-Chinese restaurants. That might also be the case in those southern Thai provinces so maybe the OP can check the Thai-Chinese places?

Koh Tao deaths and the mystery around them
NanLaew replied to scubascuba3's topic in Koh Samui, Koh Phangan, Koh Tao
Compare that result with google, wiki searches and a few others! Same answers! Precisely. It's still all just so much opinion based on speculation and hearsay fueled by anecdotal tales and a fair quota of grandstanding. Until some tangible and realistic evidence or proof turns up (if it ever does), we can resist overly contributing to these infernally pointless perpetual rinse and repeat death island 'debate' exercises. -
Keeping American cell provider and phone number abroad

Thanks for that. I only signed up with Vyke with a US number last month as it passed the to/from tests with friends here, the US and elsewhere but more importantly, my US bank accepted it whereas before it had rejected my Skype number. I was a bit miffed when PayPal US decided Vyke wasn't kosher as well! I think that they are all getting cagey with VOIP numbers, hence my pursuing the 'old' tech of a SIM that will truly roam internationally but won't cost the proverbial arm and a leg for maybe only two dozen short-code sms a year. -
Keeping American cell provider and phone number abroad
NanLaew replied to InlandSea's topic in Mobile Devices and Apps
OK, I see your point. I want it activated with a US number in the US before it comes here and tries to register on a local network. I also want something that I don't need to set a short-term reminder to either top up or extend. Due to my travels, I may find I am in a country where it doesn't work and is otherwise inaccessible when it needs topping up or extending. Eighty seven bucks for 12 months of service isn't a budget-breaker for me as long as it is reliable. -
Keeping American cell provider and phone number abroad

I no longer have a current US number. I let my at&t number go after the email address that came free with their service was compromised in a LinkedIn and Facebook 'data scrape' about two years ago. I am looking for a bulletproof method to comply with the two factor authentication (2FA) that most US financial and commercial businesses require when a client, who is is not in the US, is doing online transactions. Voice and data is a low-order priority. -

What's the 'different deal' between being pre-activated by these online vendors or my friend activating one for me while he is in the US and bringing it to Thailand? What's a 'regular' UltraMobile PayGo SIM as opposed to these being offered? https://www.ebay.com/itm/394503100156
