  1. How about 4. Never barfine the same girl more than twice. Must be right up there in the pantheon of expert advice like 'Don't leave your brain in the overhead locker'.
  2. Supermarket food in Spain costs me less than in Thailand. Are you a member of an expat forum in Spain?
  3. Why do so many millions of travelers really think Thailand is so wonderful? Because they're not trapped and skint like most of the bashers, pissers and moaners here.
  4. Just doit....you won't be stopped. But let your wife or Thai partner be processed FIRST. My experience, since voiced by others, the pencil neck at the desk can cop an attitude if you go first or, as in my case, put your foreign passport on top of the Thai passport if you go side-by-side. YMMV
  5. All banking apps allow you to review the amount you typed in before you hit the big SEND button. Next please.
  6. How's that hair dye working out for you?
  7. Assuming you are talking about your Royal Orchid and your Infinity MileageLands accounts respectively, they are not linked regardless of both carriers being Star Alliance members. Each individual airline's rewards program is unique, each with different rules.
  8. That's what I fear. You fear that the RD will do the same as your 'home country' with regard to "fictitious income"? That's irrational fear. I was audited by the IRS but it wasn't because they didn't believe me. I had made an honest miscalculation on allowances that I had claimed. I am not confident that the RD's tax legislature is mature or robust enough to start randomly auditing people. But who knows, maybe they've always been legally bound to do audits on their 'customers' and, like in the case of this not-so-new tax law, the rules are already in place, but they haven't been told by a seated Prime Minister to start enforcing them? BTW, you can tell us what your home country is. It's all anonymous here.
  9. How about the RD not caring about what we claim we can live on? Tax assessment, like in most other countries, will be on a calendar year of remittances, not on a monthly basis. If the RD needs any guidance, they can always check with Immigration, who still reckon THB400,000 a year is enough if you're married or THB800,000 a year if you're retired (and still shopping for Mrs Right).
  10. As the situation unfolds, it poses the questions about how on earth Oliver was twisting the labour laws for nine years, all in plain sight? Has there been a recent change of police chief or what?
  11. Are you registered with the British Embassy here?
  12. That's easy enough: the hotel management for allowing their staff to blame agoda when, by their own admission, they know that they "always makes mistakes". The hotel, by insisting it was all agoda's fault, basically insisted that you were an idiot for using them. Agoda has no way to add a free breakfast to a hotel's offer, either mistakenly or dishonestly. They display the room rates and offers given them by the hotel. Maybe the hotel did offer included breakfast previously, changed that offer and either haven't updated their agoda listing or agoda has missed the change. Nevertheless, the hotel hasn't done anything about it, knows there's an issue but preferring the "always makes mistakes" excuse while taking advantage of customers being wrongly advised.
  13. Why on earth are you encouraging him/her?
  14. Depends on what they look like naked I suppose. Depends on if the light switch works.
  15. Why on earth you want to do that?
  16. Didn't know Weymouth was where pensioner's hang out.
  17. Yeah, but Coventry?...
  18. What's pint? 90 baht. Are you thick?
  19. Uniquely Thai? I think not. Plenty of victims of physical and sexual spousal abuse in the "more culturally developed" west will press the police to drop charges. Plenty of mothers defend their villainous sons because he's a "nice lad" and "he wouldn't do that."
  20. But otherwise neither arrested nor detained?
  21. Much more importantly, why have you stopped your NI contributions?
  22. sounds 'bout right
  23. Sound a bit like the "look at me" vanity of the Thai car owner's that cling to their red plates for as long as possible. If you want to be treated as different, expect to be treated as different.
