South African woman gets life sentence reduced in Thailand
Iamfalang replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
This is written by Tristan Nettles of his free will in sober mind and under no duress on February 15, 2022. This is the true story of the Koh Samui Police Department and an International School CEO’s corruption. Everything stated within is easily verifiable by direct evidence. There is currently an innocent 22 year old woman named Ashley Oosthuizen who is now serving a life sentence in a Thai prison for a crime that I and others committed. You can see her website for images @ www.freeashley.org. She is currently in danger of becoming a victim to some unfortunate ‘accident,’ unless you help to make quickly her face known around the world. Prisoners often end up killed while in Thai custody so please consider sharing, emailing, screaming this story, anything is helpful except for doing nothing. I myself am a former international drug trafficker and medical school student with a long criminal record stretching back to an assault with a deadly weapons charge that I received back when I was only 11 years old. Everything I do is for Ashley. Had I come sooner, no one would listen. Now that I have websites, a business, a book, and more - now Ashley can no longer be ignored. This is her story, but to tell it, I first have to detail part of mine. Ashley Oosthuizen was only nineteen years old when I met her. I was thirty-two, twelve years her senior and a well seasoned world traveler. Thailand was the first time that she had ever left home, she’s from South Africa. She was a kindergarten teacher when we first met at a Halloween party on the tourist island of Koh Samui in Thailand. I was a high-school science teacher at one of the leading international schools there but I made more than most of my money by then from selling party drugs to the expats. It was not the first time I’ve sold illicit goods. The first time I started selling weed I was twelve years old. I got expelled numerous times for it during middle and high school, once even for selling a boy oregano. Five middle schools and seven high schools later I joined the Marine Corps Infantry. After I left I became a mid-level weed dealer down in Escatava Mississippi. I could not find any other work and had no transportation so I traded my laptop for a pound of brick weed and began moving weight. I was moving around five pounds per week before my home was invaded one afternoon and I had to fight for my life against two gunmen who tried to take it from me. After that happened the Police were hot and heavy on the scene so I was forced to close shop and leave back to Atlanta. However the state prosecutor subpoenaed me and had me flown down on charter flight to be states witness in their trial. Once their lawyer heard my story though, he never let me take the stand. The two boys accepted plea deals instead. 13 years and 7 years. It made the first page of the news when it first happened, you can check yourself. Ask the police officers who responded to the scene who was there. Jeremy hid in the bathroom and CJ was pistol whipped unconscious. It was me and the gunman who tore up the house in the bedlam that followed. All is easily verifiable. -
30,000 seemed impossible this month, but there seemed to be a little hope. no longer. This is the start to 15,000 and maybe 9,000 30,000 ever again? SURE......But it's going much, much lower first.

Lack of gratitude in a Thai relationship
Iamfalang replied to Kenny202's topic in ASEAN NOW Community Pub
maybe deep down she is giving you emotional support, PRICELESS!!! Why is money the metric to determine the worth of an individual? it's only money, give her love. true love. the deepest love possible. forget money. yea, this is why I'll never give a Thai more than 1000 baht. lol. I've helped a lot of Thais with stuff and some with very small amounts of money (free food, 100 or 200 baht stuff), but there is no way I'm playing this game. this is a fool's game. and you will get very, very bitter for being played. but maybe this is the way, and you should thank her. we come here to get fleeced.....some do. -
South African woman gets life sentence reduced in Thailand

OMG, I started reading the boyfriend's story!!! He says he's this international drug dealer from like the age of 2. How can she not know this!! He's bragging about it, but never told her??? Now I'm 100% percent she knew everything. He's way too obvious, and not very clever. -
South African woman gets life sentence reduced in Thailand

I remember reading this story. Her business, income, etc........ nothing really made sense. My gut feeling said something was fishy, and it appears we'll never get to the bottom of it. Her nationality, looks, etc..... don't play a role. I think she was doing something shady in Thailand, got caught, now "bad luck" it's a harsh sentence. next. -
This is anti-falang for sure!!!! Drunk falang cuts off Thai family!!!! horrible!!! the worst!!!! The article is clearly leaning against the falang. The family will pay money or be charged? zero percent. The falang will pay whatever money is needed, maybe arrested. This is just another bad, bad look on the falang in Thailand. "allegedly" isn't good enough here. It means "sure" in the eyes of Thais.

Living in Thailand vs living in America?
Iamfalang replied to jack71's topic in ASEAN NOW Community Pub
There is no way I want to be friends with my neighbors, I want my privacy. A smile, sure. I'm not fluent in Thai, so what kind of conversations can you have? In America, it's the same. Smile, do your thing. It also REALLY depends where you live. The Mid-West might be way more friendlier to a stranger than, say, out West. In six years, I never wanted to become friends with one neighbor. Hi, How are you, it's hot, tired, where are you going, where did you go, blah, blah blah........and a smile. That's enough. In America, you don't want to be friends because they are going to want to hear your life story. That's too invasive for a neighbor, if you are single. Unless you really hit it off with them and you are both living in a house for life. renting neighbor is way different, in the case of the Thais in America. I can guarantee one thing, if they needed help from a neighbor in America, they would get it. Here? probably the same. Unless they are really renting in some beat-down apartment complex......then that's another story. hopefully not. -
Living in Thailand vs living in America?

i don't know what this means, but there was a MASS shooting in Boulder not too long ago. CU is nice, but many pot heads. Crazy cyclists everywhere, which is good and bad. Way too crowded hiking trails, idiots trying to get Strava records on their mountain bikes. also just had a massive fire there too.....way too windy, and it gets that yellow haze. you can definitely pick a way better place. 20 years ago, maybe not. -
Thai actress and mother held on remand in alleged Ponzi scheme scandal
Iamfalang replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
even a little bit of money can change families, or so they think. probably the 40 and under folks here will try anything to get more money, especially without thinking it through. CLICK on their phone for 1000000 zillion hours to get 10 baht, OK!!! the older couple probably lives on lottery hope. I'm sure some would like to see the world, you need money. There is no "normal" path to get you out of Thailand, so they gotta hope and pray. which leads them right into the den!!!!!! and the wolves, their own "idols" and "role models" feast!!!! -
Thai durian has outranked rice and para rubber as Thailand’s top export performer, with export volume last year estimated at about 187 billion baht, compared to 100 billion baht for rice exports and 90 billion baht for rubber, according to the Centre for International Trade Studies at the University of the Thai Chamber of Commerce. ---- NO NO NO!!! I am falang, I buy 20 baht noodle soup and get 150 baht massage!!! I am the most important thing in Thailand. Without my 20 baht this country would fail!!!!!!!!!!!!!

scare off ghosts. I have 1000 speakers blasting base all day, it's good luck Welcome to Thailand, only during COVID was it truly quiet. Not anymore. Get what you pay for....it's cheap for a reason.

first of all, it's dating a GUY. Let's not get all pronouns here and whatever... it's a dude. Cuddling like a guy, holding hands like a guy, jokes with a guy, drinks beer like a guy...etc... STR, like getting a massage, is GREAT. It's all good...... LTR? It would have to be the most feminine ladyboy ever. This is just my opinion. I've seen falangs and other guys holding hands, they looked really happy. it's your life, maybe try it!!!!

I have a NATO strap that I haven't experimented with, but I think it's designed so the watch won't fall off. 25,000 is at the cusp of NATO might work or might not........and no, I'm not selling mine. lol. it came with a watch around 35,000 but it's a fun diver watch.

I've bought maybe five bands in Thailand. 3 absolutely junk. Cheap, but looked good. Worked for a few months and then looked cheap, two broke. I learned, never again. But cheap, so something to do. Got lucky on my last watch purchase, came with three authentic straps, high quality, now I'm set. It's amazing how much better quality they are, I guess I've been in Thailand so long I forgot and got used to all the garbage. A strap under 1000 baht will likely be garbage. Chinese garbage. I guess I do still wear one cheap strap I got, but it's on a watch that's not in my top 6. lesson learned: only buy a watch strap from a reputable place, probably only found in BKK and probably overpriced in Thailand. Order from Amazon if you can.

These influencers, tik-tockers, 22 year old kids should not be allowed to destroy the beauty and kill the fish of Thailand. 100 days of shame in the media (no defamation laws for him), blacklisted for life, deported of course, and this should send a message. Or 100-year jail sentence and then negotiate for a prisoner swap. There might be a Thai held in jail for stealing chocolate in the Netherlands.

Government-run website launched to help fight sexual harassment online
Iamfalang replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
As a former teacher, I can definitely see ages 13 and higher being a problem. 11 and 12? I guess I'm naïve, but I would put that group in a different category. Maybe at 11 and 12 they are technically sexually harassing without knowing that's what they are doing. 13 and up, they have a good idea they are doing something bad. -
Help Please
Iamfalang replied to HandsomeTallFarang's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
had an ED Visa many years ago. yes, went to Laos. forget the costs.....maybe 20,000 baht plus another 10,0000.....maybe like 30,000....not sure. 6 months. so maybe 60,000 or less for a year then they stopped doing it....................and I have no idea if they resumed. -
Legal Help to Dispute a will left by my Father in Law
Iamfalang replied to BAKABAS's topic in Family and Children
This one is tricky. some drama means there's still a connection with people you might care about. and sometimes drama is better than boredom. then the stubborn people won't budge. Life is too short. 90% of the time walking away is correct. I do understand if it involves family, ex-wife, something like that......it's hard to let them "win" and both losing might be the better option, mentally. horrible situation. -
Legal Help to Dispute a will left by my Father in Law
Iamfalang replied to BAKABAS's topic in Family and Children
Let's say two parents, both in sound mind, sign a will. Then one dies, the other gets Alzheimer's. Then the family splits up. Can a person with power of attorney go back and change a will and take everything? I can only imagine the abuse.
