Could you afford to live in the UK compared to Thailand?
Iamfalang replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
UK seems to have some nice houses, decent rolling hills, history (in Thai we say HI-STOREY), and decent universities. Definitely not a place to ridicule. Well, that is, until they ridicule a place far superior to their own. But the UK is under the soiled sock used by Billy's 17-year brother every night and on top of a dead mouse that also once looked at the mighty Americans wrong......still paying the Yanks for WW2? Sorry, should have had a better military. anyhow, give me some fish and chips all day!!! -
come to another country to terrorize!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! call them terrorists!!! I'm sure this is just the trash of the trash of a particular convict island with dying reef and sharks swimming around, so I'll treat the next mate on the barbie in a nice way. This is when the embassy needs to be fined 10 billion baht for destroying the sanctity of a preserved historical site.............Pattaya!!! This is like saying, "Wow, look the mob is in Vegas!!!" I'm not surprised. at all. in fact, i'm undercover sporting my leather right now and shaving myself with a big a.. blade. eating some vegemate/mite/dynamite or something

Living in Thailand vs living in America?
Iamfalang replied to jack71's topic in ASEAN NOW Community Pub
90% of my friends OWN a house (no mortgage) worth over $500,000. So, yea, maybe they carry some CC debt. Let's put that number at around 50 people. Most also have other ASSETS..... and I'm sure none of them have savings less than $10,000 and Retirement funds less than 300,000 or maybe even 400,000 you gotta see the whole picture. Of course, there will always be the poor..................but I was lower middle-class. -
Foreigner Apologises For Catching Parrotfish Off Southern Island
Iamfalang replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
A "professional" should at least look into the laws first. Oh no, they thought they could pillage Thailand!!!! Savages!!!! 100-year sentence in the gulag. Oh, I didn't know you couldn't drive 100 tonnes of meth around Thailand no excuses Mr. Professional Now it's time to pay the Piper. I hope the Netcitizens go crazy!!!!!!!! good comedy for the morning -
Why does McDonalds cost so much in Thailand?
Iamfalang replied to dj230's topic in Western Food in Thailand
Maybe I've tried about 30 hamburgers in LOS. Only two places on walking street in some strange cities actually seemed to be a good deal. They have that hamburger stand in Chiang Mai on walking street, but it's not in my top-3 so...................I guess it was forgetful. I'm starting to believe Pizza Company makes pizza about 50% like back home, and that's good enough for me. Never had a steak here like back home. Hamburger, nope. hot dog, impossible. but i still like eating Thai food most of the time, so no worries. KFC is way better than McD's in Thailand, IMO. Only tried McD's once, horrible. Burger King I think was actually OK, forget. -
Australia has really crazy heat, wildfires like only seen in double hockey sticks, and it's pretty expensive in Sydney. Plus they went crazy over COVID. History with aborigines isn't great, but par for the course with most other countries. I'd bet Australia is fine for most. Pretty, has everything....... Thailand has the edge in weirdness, so that's an attraction. Maybe Australia just gets boring to some and they want the LOS.

You drink inside the 7-11? Normal people go back to their house first. lol.

Talk to me when they add a zero to that. I think my water has more than 5%, come on!!! Those bottles should attract teenagers and children. OMG.

Oil massage in a cramped place????????????????????? Yea, not for me. hahahaha. I definitely want to pay a little more for privacy. Last month I paid 50 baht more for 1.5 hours to go on a different floor. It worked.

Why are avacados cheaper in UK than Thailand?
Iamfalang replied to ESLTeacher1989's topic in International Food
In the small towns, you can get like 7 or 8 avocadoes for about 100 baht. I couldn't eat them all after a few days, threw them away. maybe petrol, labor, brown envelopes, red envelopes, taxes, perception, whatever...... who knows. If I questioned every price I saw, I'd go crazy. Why is this car 398,988 and not 393,339? Oh wait, I am crazy. -
I have a few automatics watches I'd like to regulate. One with a pretty normal movement ETA 2824-2 and one running a Seiko 6R-15. Both running fast by about 20 seconds a day. Nothing crazy, probably within spec, and maybe I'll wait until it goes over 30, but it's a free question and if there is a good place I'll problem go there and see if I can get these watches a little more accurate. Thanks.

sorry, meant to put it in the PUB I'm getting responses!!! give me attention!!! I'm using a fake name ............ why would I care if a fake name gets attention? lol Unfortunately, in the small cities, if the massage lady is attractive, they don't stay long. It's no easy work if you get customer after customer after customer. That's why you gotta show up before 9 am. Before they are tired.

I've gotten thousands of massages, so I have some experience. Maybe three years ago I realized that at 250 (tip 50 or 100 baht), almost everything can go wrong and, well, this is Thailand and no sense complaining. 350 isn't even $10 USD and some lady is touching you for an hour and it's definitely (not always) better than being alone. Let's start with the comedy: 1. Lady texting with one hand, massaging with the other 2. Phone louder than a nightclub at 3 a.m. Ring, Ring, LINE message. DING, DING!!!! 3. Lady talking to people outside the shop on the street while she "massages" you 4. Lady rubbing your head for like 10-minutes just to get to that hour 5. Lady leaves, comes back, leaves, comes back. 6. Wants to break all your bones, regardless of what you say (in Thai) 7. Softer than a feather when you actually want some muscle relief 8. Constantly talks to you while your eyes are closed and you're trying to relax 9. Other people in the shop talking to you 10. The owner sitting there, staring at you. 11. They want you to teach them English .......... now!! I do think it's important to get at least a couple massages per month. Every week? I like to do that. Every day? wow, you got me beat. You will definitely "bond" with certain people way better than others. If she's young and attractive.......well, you can figure that out. Old and ugly, her hands are probably like bricks. Guy? a better massage, usually, but maybe you don't want to be touched by a guy. I've learned an expensive massage is almost always a waste of money. The 150 baht is the best, but sometimes you want some privacy to think. If 1.5 hours, you will usually only get the same as a good 1 hour massage. If you like the lady, then you're paying for a friend. nothing wrong with that. I'm a big fan of the 150 to 250 baht massage, but you gotta understand what you are in for. It's funny when a lady screams because she thinks the guy has changed but is standing there naked. lol. or when you hear some strange stuff and thought this place was not naughty....or some old lady randomly wants some crazy and lowers the price to basically nothing and you still can't accept. It's Thailand.

Living in Thailand vs living in America?
Iamfalang replied to jack71's topic in ASEAN NOW Community Pub
Opportunity? America, all day and twice on Saturdays. Jokers can make $100,000 a year and some over $300,000 without being too smart. In Thailand, $12,000 a year for falangs. Convenience. America all day and it's actually real. The best food, technology, houses, whatever.....it's there. Thailand, cheap but likely fake and it will break. Lazy. Thailand all day. Cheap massages, cheap rent, cheap "food" and you can be lazy forever. Weather. America. Seasons. If you love the death heat and smoke, well, up to you. However, the rainy season is cooler. People. Depends on you. In America, you can talk to their language. Deep conversations. Real relationships. Here, "Food...ok, ok...good good? short time?" The kindest people I met have been in America, but I've met many, many kind people in Thailand. In America, they'll give you money, food, help you move, whatever......here, smiles. Women: I'm guessing 150 million women in America. 35 million in Thailand. Both. Education. If you don't know this one, I can't help you. Hospitals. If rich, America. If not, probably Thailand unless you have good insurance. Safety. Probably Thailand. Never had a problem in America in 50-years, but there are a few sketchy moments. But I was young, drinking, that happens..... In America, people will help you. Here, not sure. But it's pretty safe here. Scenery: America, all day. No question. Has everything, but you have to travel. Here's the take: grow up in America, work in America, get rich in America and then see if you are rich enough to enjoy a nice retirement. Most rich Americans are never going to pick Thailand to retire. Maybe a week trip. If you aren't rich, and don't mind being lazy with language problems and you worry about money and health bills..............Thailand. -

Living in Thailand vs living in America?
Iamfalang replied to jack71's topic in ASEAN NOW Community Pub
You are going to find what you want to find. YouTube "meth problem Thailand" oh, why live there. "massages Pattaya" OMG, I'll retire there "rich American city" Wow, that's so great "homeless America." OMG, I'll never go there. Philly, Baltimore, NYC, Chicago, LA, etc.... all have bad places. And Philly also has 5,000,000 USD houses. Now probably 10,000,000 USD. Nobody cares if you go there or not..................maybe you can try Youtube "Jungle Thailand alone" wow, so exciting "Thailand on $10 a day" great..............lol................horrible. lol- 225 replies

Bank staffer who stole 3 million baht arrested in NE - she'd become a NUN!
Iamfalang replied to webfact's topic in Isaan News
I did this before, rounded that penny scam and made billions. I went to confession for one hour, gave a little bit to the church, and they granted me holy immunity. done. I have been forgiven. last night in Pattaya was a little crazy.............OK, off to the confessional -
and politically, a Thai is worth 100000000 falangs and in reality, a Thai is worth 100000000000000000 falangs and in the eyes of all Thais and the law, a Thai is worth 100000000000000000000 falangs 40k a month is nothing at all. impossible to matter to anyone, so you have no leverage. Then a Thai goes to falangland and sees 100,000 homeless and say , "I am worth more than all of you, combined!!!"

Almost always it's Thai women, in my opinion, who will let you know. I've known about five or six who were VERY depressed, but functional. Teachers and business owners. Always down, negative, no real emotion, defeatist....and they have tried pills and other stuff. Guys aren't going to tell you, maybe hint at depression, but not come out and tell you. I've noticed a lot of cutters here........women who cut their arms repeatedly. it's also a culture thing to FAKE laugh all the time. that can't be healthy. but a real laugh, usually by a kid, is great. But when I hear the fake ones, I wonder if they are really falling apart inside.

4 am isn't enough. Let the bars remain open until 7 a.m. Close for two hours. I go there around noon for lunch and a few. Back at 6 for dinner and a few. Then back at 11 for a big, big night out............10 plus. That takes me until only 11:30 and I need to drink another 30. By 4 a.m., my shirt is off and the girls love me love me love me sooooo much

I don't care if it costs 10,000,000 baht, I want our Trident Subs on Defcon 5, tanks to close all roads heading north, and every possible Navy Seal on red alert. Call up the CIA, pay them another 100,000,000..... Hold on, I just got a text.................5 billion dollar bounty. Oh, snap. I gotta get to work.

It blows my mind how many people simply walk in traffic and have absolutely NO concept that a vehicle might be approaching. In the many years here, I've probably scared about 100 people. I'm never going faster than 40 kph, but that's fast enough. The funny part? It's almost always my fault. Main road, lady and kid starts from the other side of the road (my right hand side). Oh, I see what they will do. They get to the yellow line, NEVER ONCE looking.....they keep walking. Of course now I'm going like 15 kph but I don't want to stop and be hit by the truck behind me. I give a light beep. OMG...they scream at me!!!! Ladies on the side of the road, yell!!!! kids, old people, police, middle aged people, everyone................ once they get on a road they imagine there are no cars!!!! Parents must have never taught this. In my house, in a much less populated place than say BKK.....................this rule was the BIBLE. here......................walk anywhere, never look, maybe get hit and try to sue??????????? I have no idea.
