I've known people with a week overstay in the last year, was only a self-imposed slight headache a fine. Nothing else. It's never fun to hand over a passport with an overstay stamp, but I have yet to meet anyone rejected because of such stamp(s) that were short-term.

The other end of the spectrum is just as bad.........met a falang, very old, said he was super bike rider.....around 70. few months later, went into the back windshield of the car in front of him, like 50 face stitches. and more. What can I do, say "You idiot, I told you don't ride a bike?" No, nobody will listen here. another old guy about 65 crashed after a night out.......broken bones. told our Thai class, "I lived only a few minutes away." dude is 65 and this is his excuse. our species is doomed!!!!!!!!!!!

Nothing is worse than a "low spending tourist'!!! I spent only 2000 yesterday and I'm an expat. I took 4000 just in case, and I'm sure there was some "low spender" falang in the store with 40 baht and trying to get a discount for the last 11 hours. OMG, come on "low spenders"!!! . Every tourist needs a T-shirt with a barcode that is linked to their bank account. Come on "high spending tourists," this country needs you!!! I say raise all prices in Pattaya by 100%........ I've seen this story before. Usually the guy is trapped in the casino and chased by about 100 thugs. Amazingly, the guy isn't hit, shoots all 100 in the head, and is able to escape unharmed. He's picked up at a secure location, and flown back to HQ and some lady who is super impressed. Once I saw a guy run up the walls of the casino, jump on the chandelier, take out 20 guys at once, and barely escape using a WW2 tunnel filled with explosives. \ I personally prefer when a guy gets the security code, mugs an employee, sneaks in, gets a billion dollar secret code for printing money, and saves the planet from total destruction. It depends. Some paying students might ask, "What does that word mean?" A Thai teacher should then say it in the student's native language. This happens quite often. It's also a better "bonding" relationship if the teacher can speak a little English. If the class is 1 hour and the teacher spends 2 minutes speaking English, I'm OK with that. None of this stuff matters....................Did you learn? GOOD. Was it productive? OK. Worth your money? GREAT. If you didn't learn, it probably wasn't because they spoke some English, and then find a new teacher for the next semester. Not the teacher's fault, per say, but it's not a good match.

Udon will probably be your least favorite, but Nong Prajak or whatever is a great place. That lake makes the city not a complete waste. The city has people, markets, and you might as well check it out. NK or KK, not sure which one you will like more, maybe NK. Then Chiang Mai will be 10x better than all of those, but it only takes one great connection to prove me totally wrong. I would rather date a girl from NK than CM.

It was "funny" when a falang reported another teacher for being drunk and then that same falang texted an underage girl in a sexual manner. "funny" in a sad, horrible karma way. 4,000 images. This takes time. Do we know how many students? I don't think so. 4000.....maybe 400 kids. Maybe 1000 kids. I typically bash falangs more because it was hard to talk to Thais before. They weren't good at English, and certainly weren't going to show you their weaknesses as easily as a falang. A falang would say something crude about a 14-year old girl, and they would tell me, "Well, we are in Thailand." They wondered why I hated them. Falangs......you must go to your kid's school and meet every teacher. You will know the bad ones almost immediately.

there is no way there is proper evidence to come to any good conclusion. It's not about ladyboys in general, it's about people with mental problems being around kids and apparently not supervised. deviant uncles, etc......hopefully are not teachers, and, if so, hopefully aren't allowed to be around kids unsupervised; moreover, hopefully, another teacher has the common sense to report any deviant behavior. Now it's almost 10 years ago, but I reported deviant behavior on more than one occasion. One was a female Thai teacher, falang, another falang, another falang, and I advised one school to watch a teacher more carefully. These "teachers" were drinking with students, touching them, dancing strange with them, hitting them, texting them, etc..... I feel so bad if any member has a kid at a Thai school. You have no idea, even if you think you do.

just go to a mom and pop store. It might actually be free there. drive around until you see glasses in the window, and walk inside. the main chains can do it, but I had better experiences with the 1-2 person operation. not too difficult. google maps, search eyeglasses. แว่นตา this is what you are looking for

Two decades does not make you Thai!!! Have you spent even one baht in Thailand? Anyhow, you have not spent enough. It's nice you are treated so poorly and yet keep coming back for more abuse. I like these stories because it tells me I'm smart for not retiring in Thailand. From the top down , the falang is really someone who you can treat badly over and over and over and over. Once a week for about six years (perhaps I didn't do it as much during the big COVID scare), I'll buy a Thai their lunch. It's never more than 50 baht, and I know it helps them way more than it helps me. Many of these people are very, very poor. Business owners who work everyday and have less than 10,000 baht to their name. 20-50 baht a week is a great start. If you are old, you understand it's important to give. If you have no desire to give, only to take, then you are what we call a "lost soul."

Ladyboys as teachers is the same as falangs as teachers. I've met some horrible, disgusting falang teachers who would talk inappropriately about underage kids. If they make the school money, nobody gets fired. Unless they get caught. Ladyboys, same. I've seen a ladyboy teacher who was very "touchy-feely" and was overly sexual outside of school. No idea if they did anything, but didn't seem like a good role model for children. There needs to be more "moral" checks on these "teachers." Just like kids can't fail, it seems very hard to fire a teacher. Once money is involved, everyone looks the other way until it's too late. If these "teachers" (in quotes because I can't compare these people to teachers back home) were in America in 2022, the amount of teachers fired would implode the system. Now, in America, teachers are simply quitting in droves.....low pay, admin is crazy, and the parents are screaming at teachers if they call their kid by their first name. I don't understand any of it....................There are bad apples everywhere, but this one is going right to the top.

please do something, you don't want someone getting hurt and then suing for a lot of money. Falang must follow all laws. If anything bad happens to a Thai, the falang will be to blame. In Chiang Mai, their reading course is excellent. Speaking? Well, we were beginners and were going to struggle anywhere. I do remember that the teachers were professional, and the students (classmates) liked going to bars and most of them dropped out anyhow. Some students showed up once a week, and some got too frustrated making mistakes. I would blame the falangs 90% for not learning anything. Maybe it's different in BKK.

They walk barefooted around all day, super easy. Even Bezos of Amazon or Musk of Telsa.....all they do is talk on their phone and tell people what to do, and make billions!!! or presidents of CEO.....all they do is go to dumb meetings!!! or people in commercials, or actors, they sit around and make millions!!!
