Went Qatar last year biz class, very disappointing. Paid for seat reservations 63 quid a leg and they just canceled one with no warning and got stuck in the middle area. Said they would give a refund but they changed their minds and never did pay out. Food was absolutely disgusting, better in their economy, plus the seat did not recline. Doha is awful, once in the departure lounge there are no toilets so getting out and in again seems to be a real hassle for them. On the loading bridge for 35 minutes there waiting for them to get the plane cleaned, kids crying and the disabled stressed out, horribel.

The recruitment system for government jobs is weird, think they have the exam every 2 years in Bkk. You have to have a degree in education and as jobs are not advertised they decide how many vaccines they will want to put people on the list for. So the top 400 say will get put on the list and offered jobs as they come up. Last time the Mrs did it over 2k sat the exam and about 250 passed, I think it was 400 they were after, pass mark 60%. The exam is like a large IQ test against the clock and other papers on the law and education, multiple choice. Some of the questions are ambiguous or appear to have more than one right answer. Payment to get on the list used to be rife! Mrs failed.

Definitely they do not support bribes from agents, they don't always support their own rules either. One report on here last year said they refused his extension renewal with 800k in the bank for 2 months prior, insisting it was still 3 months. I was once made to give the IO a copy of every single PP page even the blank ones. Next year did them first and handed over a thick pile only to be told I was wasting their time as they had to ditch most of them. Last year it was fuss and confusion over the TM30 insisting you still needed to do one on re entry and was told the 2020 changes did not apply. At least they should be moving back to Paknam later this year when the new office is finished. It's still better than CW, i'd rather leave the country than have to go back there again.
