  1. Makro getting a lot of mentions in this thread, are some people forgetting Makro is mainly for bulk buyers? 1000's of shoppers buying in bulk using those flatbed shopping carts are going to empty the shelves real quick. In all my years shopping in Thailand, sure there's isles blocked off cause of pallets or forklifts or pallet jacks, so what, cry me a river.
  2. Let's admit the older you get, the more you yearn for the way things used to be. Go into any bar and the old timers are stuck listening to the music they grew up on. How many more decades till we see 60-70-y/o requesting hip hop music?
  3. How or what are you using to watch movies/tv shows? I had Netflix (no vpn) for over a year and it was ok, but in the past few months got IPTV/Firestick and it blows the doors off of my Netflix, My IPTV has over 2000 movies/tv shows ready to watch at the press of a button.
  4. The beach chair vendors aren't the ones doing the actual cooking, no running water, rat infested trees, etc. You tell them what you want and they know the shops to get it. I sit on the beach and just go get what I like at the food courts, bigger selection and cleaner presentation.
  5. Having to choose between Jomtien or Pattaya beaches, I prefer Jomtien, near their food courts/night markets and get my food from them, lots of tasty food to choose from. Avoid the motorbike food vendors, eating from those filthy carts is asking for diarrhea, 555.
  6. These AI trump youtube vids are hilarious;
  7. Option 1) Stay home and stock up on food, drinks, snacks before the water starts getting thrown and have the contacts for food delivery. Option 2) Take a trip out of town for a week or so, Pattaya is the one of the most intense cities for Songkran, meanwhile up in Issan they are tame and respect those that don't want to get wet.
  8. Is he legally buying them? The last thing I want to do in Thailand is get caught buying controlled drugs illegally.
  9. You can't buy it "over the counter", you'll need a prescription from a doc.
  10. Scamming fortune tellers, palm readers, psychics types. I had it attempted on me one time, the guy tried to say he could tell me my past for 1000b. I just laughed and said no thanks, he countered with "Ok, how much you give?", I said "Why do I need to pay somebody to tell me my past? I lived it".
  11. Thai vs Filipino fights do bring in the crowds. 555
  12. Is this thread about a car accident or a farang committing assault?
  13. Us or the farang criminals? I for one, have felt zero backlash from both the Thais I know and the Thais I've just met/interacted with. As for the farang criminals getting vilified, they've earned it.
  14. And if the farang tourists are going to commit assault, theft, sell drugs, etc they can expect backlash. Not everyone is in favor of importing criminals to their country.
  15. So the low-life commits a serious assault, sending an old lady to the hospital and he thinks him "going home" is going to resolve his criminal actions? Absurd.
  16. Why would they? No country is going to complain about law abiding tourist in their country, BUT once those tourists start committing crimes, then they cross the line.
  17. If he extends his visa, Immigration will renew it for legal reasons rather than for business purposes. It is effective for 90 days and may be extended until the case is resolved. He will be unable to continue running the business in Thailand. Ouch, ain't that a kick in the pants?
  18. Looking at the photo & video in the link; I'd guess he's British.
  19. I'm guessing the Filipino ladyboys will leave BKK en mass and try to find a safer place to work; Pattaya's Beach Road is about to get an influx of foreign LBs.
  20. If they were twins, they came into the world together and went out together, RIP.
  21. 4:36 AM? Tourist? My money is on alcohol played a part in his fall.
