  1. OP didn't you ask about a bad bum gun? Now a broken microwave? How much is the rent at this place where things are breaking down on a weekly basis?
  2. Have you thought of checking the big home improvement shops? Home Pro, Thaiwasadu, Global House, Do Home, Mega Home?
  3. There were 4 notebooks/laptops in the room? How many do they need to take on a holiday?
  4. So true, any bad news story in Pattaya, and the posts mentioning "family friendly" are done ad nauseam.
  5. Let's face it, there's no educational requirement to be a taxi driver. Messing with some taxi drivers is like getting between a dog & it's meal.
  6. Facebook marketplace is the new mecca for online thievery. Do not buy anything off of FB that you can't see in person first.
  7. But what's immigration supposed to do when the overstayer doesn't have the money to pay the fine? Perhaps this guy couldn't pay the fine, hence the arrest.
  8. Not Soi Buakow and not 1 year ago, but the modus operandi was exactly the same. Some guys fall into a chunk of money for the 1st time, come to Pattaya, get drunk everyday, bang hookers and lose control. When reality sets in, they are without any support. Good bye cash-hello pavement. A sad way to go.
  9. I was in a bar one night and one farang was buying lady drinks and ringing the bell like crazy. His check bin was almost 100k and the girls told me he's been doing that for a few nights in a row. It turned out he recently settled a lawsuit back home and was awarded a chunk of money and was spending like a mad man. He clearly lost control and will regret it if/when he sobers up.
  10. I did it before with my Kasikorn bank, but it took about a month to clear. These days you can take a photo of the check (front & back). send it to your US bank and many will accept it. try that,
  11. Building on top of a landfill? You're screwed.
  12. Police investigations revealed that Mr. Tobias exchanged 1,000 euros at a bureau de change in Kamala on February 7 at 3:00 pm and at another bureau de change in Kathu at 4:00 pm. Mr. Ozeias exchanged 3,000 euros (about 111,600 baht) at three different booths in Thalang. After the incident, Mr. Ozeias Da Silva fled the country at 8:50 p.m. on February 7. Police are gathering evidence to track him down and prosecute him. Mr. Tobias was charged with using counterfeit money under Section 240 and forgery under Section 241 of the Thai Penal Code, which carries a penalty of 1-15 years in prison and a fine of 20,000-300,000 baht. They had to know they were fake, why else would they be exchanging so much is a short period of time?
  13. He files a false police report over a 100b taxi ride? 555.
  14. According to Mr. Htet, the pickup driver, he claimed that he mistakenly pressed the accelerator instead of the brake after delivering goods to the hotel. This caused his vehicle to surge forward and crash head-on into the golf cart, which was transporting the two tourists.
  15. Queue the standard "I hate Songkran" posts, 555.
  16. Completely true, and there's other jobs where if you have 1 year work history in the west, that can work in Thailand; A CPR instructor can work as a board certified heart specialist in Thailand 😂 A First Aid instructor can be an orthopedic surgeon in Thailand 😆 A babysitter can be head of child psychology in Thailand 😜 And a wedding photographer can be a radiologist 😝 And if you believe that, I can sell you the Bridge over the River Kwai.
  17. Agree, my wife and I have been married for over 17 years, our 5 million baht house has been in her name since we bought it 13 years ago. Never once has there been the mention of her kicking me out, or selling it out without my knowledge. A lot of jaded single old men here giving advice from either their broken marriage history or based on the news stories of bad marriages. Happy, successful marriages rarely makes the news.
  18. They now charge for carry on? I know they have a limit to the size and weight, but charging for a simple backpack?
  19. Why are so many maga-hats out of touch with reality?
  20. According to the victim’s mother, the grandmother managed to capture videos of the abbot raping the girl but was threatened by him into deleting them. Despite this, she retained the evidence and handed it over to Mueang Ayutthaya Police Station. If this is true, this is no abbot (head monk), but a child rapist and needs to be treated like one.
  21. Fair enough. Many years back, my regular barber went away, so i was looking around for a new barber. I walk into one not far from my home, and just as he's finishing up with a Thai customer I hear the customer ask (in Thai) "How much?" "Jet sip" was the reply. I understood what was asked and what was said (70b). So I ask in English "How much? And the English response was 100b, I reply in Thai "Oh, mai ow khap, nit noi pang", and turned around and never came back.
  22. Unless you can speak/write like a Thai, why can't your wife ask them?
  23. Fireworks and loud music all hours of the night have been going on in the Pattaya/Jomtien beach areas for many many years, how is this a surprise to anyone with common sense?
  24. I guess this what happens when you buy tickets from low cost airline companies. I'm not saying I don't fly Air Asia, but knowing they are low cost will mean they have to cut corners where ever they can.
