What's your opinion on this? Jordan Peterson on IQ
NextG replied to GammaGlobulin's topic in ASEAN NOW Community Pub
I think we could find far more examples of ‘leftists’ who could “form a coherent argument” than ‘rightists’. The fact that so many ‘rightists’ cling on to the thoughts of one man is testament to that. I don’t claim to be either on the left or right, but most of the people here who appear to adhere to the right appear to be the ones who are unable to form a coherent argument and instead sink to trying to insult by using terms such as ‘woke’ and ‘leftie’. Brain dead and relying on people such as JP to think for them. -
I call BS There was no good humour involved then, as there is none in your reply above. This is the post to which you replied: This was your reply: “Is there? No real point in coming to Thailand then, may as well stay in his home country, or at least go to a country with less restrictions concerning visas and ownership. “ Where is the good humour there? By inference you were suggesting that there are no other reasons to be in Thailand other than the availability of females. An insult to Thailand. Worse still, you try to cover up your faux pas by delivering an insult to ‘obese farangs’. There was no good humour, but just an unpleasant character revealed.

But nothing at all to do with the topic. At least you didn’t feel the need to post her picture. Anyone who feels the need to read about her can click through your link. Thank you for your understanding. -

I can hardly believe the nonsense I see written here so often. Shocking really. Think of a blind man…his other senses heightened. In the same way, we utilise our brains in different ways. I can barely draw a circle, whilst someone else may be able to draw a lifelike portrait. Everyone has something unique. The problem may be when the feel the pressure to be like everyone else. The IQ test nonsense is a perfect example and one of the reasons why I didn’t even try. I didn’t want to be ‘pigeonholed’. My friends are from all walks of life and with them I experienced a far more broad spectrum of life than I would have done on my own. So yes, I’ll take that extra ten minutes to teach someone a new skill and perhaps I’ll learn something too. -
More nonsense. Insurance is an expense and you have NO IDEA as whether it would be excluded from the 60,000 baht budget. You are just making up silly things as you go along. Give it a rest. Quote in Baht. It’s not an American website. Lose the arrogance. Budget is denominated in Baht, so quote costs in Baht.

There are always ways around things. You can download the videos for free or you can splash out on a ‘premium’ subscription for as little as 55 baht a month if YouTube is a useful resource to you. But so far I don’t see any ads anyway, so no need to panic nor overdramatise… -

My International insurance purchased in Thailand was quoted in £s. What’s your point? The budget is in Baht. Quote in Baht. Too much for you? As an aside, your insurance sounds like cr@p. CoPay? Another American who thinks the world revolves around him. My insurance has no excess and is valid even in the USA. It’s B A H T. ☺️

Who said that I didn’t understand and why would you imagine that you would know the thoughts of every other forum member? Once again, any health insurance purchased in Thailand will be in Baht. If purchased from abroad you will have no idea of the cost unless you are writing specifically of the USA. Since you have no idea if the OP’s acquaintance is from the USA, your quote of $2K is just ‘pie in the sky’. So if you are giving general advice and the budget is quoted in Baht, then it makes sense to price in Baht doesn’t it? Totally dopey to change currency mid-quote for no reason. I’m sure that you wouldn’t be impressed if a tradesman in Thailand priced some things in Baht and some things in US$ just for his convenience.

Don’t be so defeatist. Buy second hand. No need for a large investment. Life really isn’t as difficult as you imagine.

It could be that his imagination outstrips his ability. Unlike his ‘hero’ Jordan Peterson, he lacks the ability to state “I don’t know”. No humility, so bound to fail. -
*Baht and if you even believed in what you wrote about, you could have simply expressed the figure in local currency. What use is $ to someone whose local currency is something different. The income is quoted in Baht and expenses will be in Baht. Worse, you wrote neither Baht nor US$. You do know that there are Australians, Canadians, New Zealander’s etc who inhabit this board, don’t you? So at least decide on the currency in which you will quote.

Learn how to ‘unlearn’. Learn to appreciate everything. Become ‘reborn’. If you don’t it will only get worse.
