Special Feature: What happens when a foreigner dies in Thailand???
KIngsofisaan replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
What exactly did you learn that you should have already known? How did the Thai owners of the hotel know he was a US Navy Combat Veteran and discover the American Legion in Pattaya upon his death? Really? Come on man! I want to try and share our experience and involvement with this ONE US Veteran - Adam Judd, Chief Editor, The Pattaya News English Our Experience? Did someone from the hotel personally call Adam Judd just so he could write this story, which is posted by the op Webfact? Why is the Pattaya English News even involved? Who informed them to come write a story? He searches through the personal possessions to establish an ID of the individual. He secures the veteran’s possessions and takes them to the police station to begin his task Was the reporter physically there onsight witnessing this? Did the Pattaya police officer call the news man to come write a story of this man's death? How did the reporter know the police went through his personal possessions? How did the reported know he secures the veteran's possessions and took them to the police station? Did the police secure all the man's clothes and furniture (i.e. possessions?) Come on man this whole thing is preposterous! -

Special Feature: What happens when a foreigner dies in Thailand???
KIngsofisaan replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
I care about people I know and love dying. Are there any facts that 1 US citizen dies everday in Thailand? Will I read a 4 part story into how a veteran died, as told by the American Legion Post? Absolutely not. How I die in Isaan won't be a 4 part story, won't be hailed by the American Legion It will be quite simple reason Up in Smoke with Cheech and Chong in the local temple It won't make the news- 162 replies

Legal Help to Dispute a will left by my Father in Law
KIngsofisaan replied to BAKABAS's topic in Family and Children
Your advice is not even remotely close to true. Wills are contested and overturned all the time. With solid evidence and argumentation, an individual can successfully contest a will in Thailand and can obtain the rights he requested or considered appropriate in his case. For a suitable approach in your case, it is recommended to solicit legal assistance How Do I Contest a Will in Thailand? (attorneysinthailand.com) -

Good thing I know her and you don't. She won't every fall for a broke anyone. To many scars from growing up dirt poor, with no running water or electricity. Yours did because you obviously didn't measure up. Not sure why so many of you always think the worse, just because it happened to you? Maybe look in the mirror -
After all the people getting banged up during Covid testing positive in Bangkok, when they got on the plane with a negative, I would NEVER trust Bangkok to do the test. To easy for them to bang you with a huge bill by saying you are positive, when you really weren't. There were plenty of stories in the international news of this happening in Thailand

I can remember way back when my wife, from Isaan, was always amazed at Thai women and their desire to be white. My wife was amazed when we first moved to the US and went to the beach, how many dark, bronze, tanned women there were on the beach. Why didn't they all want to be snow-white was the question? When I explained to her that women in the US loved to get tanned, right to the store to get some sun-tanning lotion. Did not take long for the Isaan gal to be as bronze as the best of them. She copied the US gals the best she could, tanning, small bikini's, you name it. She is extremely outgoing for a Thai, not given a rat what people see or think about it One thing I admire about her, is she can be her own person regardless Very strong willed and living life on her own terms

Lucky old you in Thailand with a young wife

If he was leaving her a US million dollar plus account, real estate and more, I am sure the answer is yes. Some men probably have enough to leave their wives, that there won't be a need for a rich guy, because she will already be richer. It is quite obvious, the majority of expats in Thailand married to younger wives, are no where near that level of wealth. I have always given my wife the option if she wanted to take off with a younger partner, and she could still keep all the money. Yet she is still here? While I enjoy being with her immensely, I do not want to be a burden to her. My opinion. Her opinion is she wants to take care of me, for all the taking care I did of her. She knows she will be extremely well rewarded and I wouldn't have it any other way. I knew from day 1, the day would come, when the age difference would start to matter more and more. Did I quit my job early so I could run around Thailand? Absolutely not. Worked and worked and worked 15 years longer than planned. Then still took high paying contract jobs when I was supposed to be retired. All for her. I got out of the materialistic game 20+ years before most men, made sound investments, and it has paid off. I long for nothing, enjoy a simple quiet life, surrounded by her family. I don't look forward to death, but when the time comes, I know I did a hell of job ensuring she will never have to worry financially. Whether she wants to get remarried or not, up to her. But as an educated, US Citizen, with holdings in both countries, she is not going to fall for something nitwit broke farang. She understands the value of what she has and she knows, there will be no one coming along she would be interested in sharing her dosh with. -
Do Filipinas make better wives than Thais?
KIngsofisaan replied to Brian Nose's topic in ASEAN NOW Community Pub
Please tell us what we would learn from 500 men who were with 30 prostitutes each? Tell us how being with that many prostitutes prepares men to find a good wife, one who will be by his side for 30 years, and not divorce him and take him for everything he owns? Christ, if I had to admit I learned from prostitutes, I would bury my head in the sand with shame. I would rather asked 10 men how they managed to stay married for 30 years. -

You don't learn a damn thing from girls you pay for the night. Well maybe you do, most educated men do not -
Lucky old you in Thailand with a young wife
KIngsofisaan replied to webfact's topic in ASEAN NOW Community Pub
I feel fortunate I was able to marry. But I am never going to kid myself about the truth. The age differences are accepted in Thailand, however, NOT normal. Sooner or later the man gets to a point where he is just plain to damn old to do anything except wait to die. In this stage, a good man spends all his time financially planning for his eventual demise, so that his young wife will be rich and be able to find the life she really wanted in the first place. Some women are greatful for their new house, land, car, gold, money, status. They earned it for taking care of the old man for the years they were together. Hopefully they will be left enough to find the life they really wanted, after the geezer kicks the bucket. -

Living in Thailand vs living in America?
KIngsofisaan replied to jack71's topic in ASEAN NOW Community Pub
One thing about the USA these days, it seems you can still get a job at any age. My mother told me I have an Aunt that is working as a greeter at Walmart even though she is 94. For those that didn't plan their savings or pensions very well, possible to still make US $2,000 a month standing around -
