  1. The only hotel in the entire Thailand where I got food poisoning.
  2. In a bit of a panic mode right now. Have I been doing it wrong?
  3. Yea.... Didn't expect your post to get many likes by stating the facts. Most of my Thai wife's friends are exactly as you described. Met at university, both work, probably have a higher combined income than 90% of retirees in Thailand. Extremely hard working that don't usually fit the stereotypes thrown here.
  4. And shout out to DJ Pat.... a previous member on this site who a year ago started his own youtube channel and is doing pretty well.
  5. I like Retired working for you, but to be honest I know he is mostly forced to do Thai content as it probably pays him the most, His Korean trip was a much better watch,
  6. There was never any grace period in the history of Thailand for overstaying. What ever you do don't overstay even 1 single day (I do think you get 24 hour to leave past your visa expiration). Perhaps you are referring to 14 day reporting requirement?
  7. I read the opening post and it doesn't sound encouraging
  8. Come on guys I am just joking, I am pushing 50 myself. Anyhoo I did ask yall how much do you think it is enough to self insure.
  9. How much money in total have you put so far towards self insurance? I am trying to figure out my finances and if it's better to quit insurance now. So far I have not been impressed by Thai insurance at all.
  10. I haven't and I won't
  11. What's the point of working until 69? You'll be dead in 10 years. Seriously I think all the backpackers have it right. Spend time enjoying and travelling while you are young. You don't need much money when you are young. 240k baht a month and now worried sick. Have you ever seen an 80 year old guy in Thailand? Neither have I.
  12. A better question is why are you so shxttx
  13. The difference between this and hotel room is that you are not stuck in a hotel room. Another difference between this and another shoebox condo are facilities. Yes, to some people they are useless, but to others they offer the opportunity to escape the tiny room and perhaps give the illusion that they are somehow less confined. On the other hand this may be a good rental opportunity. The less things there are inside, the less likely are things to break. This is particularly a maintenance free rental which I wish it existed in Canada. However, people need to be realistic, This is not 5k a month rental..... maybe 2.5k rental.
  14. 399k to stay in prison. Up to u
  15. Hi Tod! Thanks for approving my posts on Thailand Expats, lolz
  16. Source: Trust me bro
  17. How do you know he is still in bed?
  18. I'm with Bob.
  19. Also if you sell at a loss you still need to pay tax. Same as that other great investment called real estate. I don't know why people bother.
  20. Return it for a full refund ????
  21. Not woke enough. 5 days in Canada
