  1. Just coffee for me. I only eat around 11. Then few beers before bed.
  2. up to them. i couldnt give 2 hoots what they do. the airport is only a taxi ride away.
  3. what about for a frozen sausage? ????
  4. you can call me whatever you want ????
  5. wow. now that is sad. maybe she needs a new circle of friends. not that I am one to judge on friendships as I dont really have any but I also dont allow chronically toxic people in my front door.
  6. I've been both married and single in my time here and my anger/hostility has been pretty consistent throughout. Bar maybe the first year to 18 months when i first moved here.
  7. No, its not nonsense.
  8. it is possible but is dependent on other factors such as bone density etc. any dentist worth his salt would always recommend root canal followed by a crown as your first port of call.
  9. this has made me sad. thanks jvs.
  10. i thought u were going to the mountains for a month? didnt realize they had wifi up there! ????
  11. I really appreciate your input, richard. it's quite uplifting actually. thanks mate.
  12. I have taken what you have said in a constructive manner. I just post about my daily experiences in Thailand. If they come off as negative then there isnt a lot I can do about that. I'm not going to sugar coat anything for anyone.
  13. you make some good points richard. I do frequent tourists hotspots quite regularly, usually because there is more to do for foreigners in said places. Not much goin on in your average Thai soi other than some street food and maybe a hairdressers or 2.
  14. I guess for the first few hundred times I let it slide. Now we are into the realm of thousands if not 10's of thousands of sperate incidents such as what happened to me the other day. I guess it just slowly but surely adds to my overall negative perception of Thai people.
  15. im not miserable though. Im quite the opposite. tell you what did make me miserable the other day though. When i was shortchanged by 500 baht and then i was made to feel like it was my fault by the cashier that I paid with 1,000 note. she actually said these words "next time pay small money" you couldnt make it up!
  16. hmmm. maybe from here? we are constantly told we are guests in this country. dont guests usually have hosts?
  17. How about Thais changing their attitude? Ever thought of that one? They are our hosts after all. I'm sure many foreigners have had similar experiences, especially in the tourist areas. And before you say 'well dont go to the tourist areas then' where do you think they will go for a holiday? Mukdahan?
  18. if my subjective truth through personal experience is negative then so be it! I can't help that, can I?
  19. my sentiments exactly! They should feel grateful that i am willing to spend my time here.
  20. haha! Never thought of it like that mate ????
  21. we all know that thais only give us the time of day if we are paying. They couldnt care less about us if we arent. No money, no honey i believe is the popular phrase. How does this make you feel at a deep level? are you comfortable with it? Do thais also treat each other the same way? do friendships here revolve solely on materialism? I know in the west friends are mostly made in our youth, when we all had nothing and came up together. Here it seems it doesnt work that way. You never see hi so mixing with lo so etc seems everything is based on how much money you have in the bank. Which is strange because there are way more poor people in Thailand than there are rich. I guess maybe you gotta get out to the villages to meet the genuine Thais, right? I stopped paying for thai people a long time ago. Because whenever I did I never got any extra respect or whatever. it was just like it was expected cos i was a foreigner. Now I mostly get the Thais to foot the bill and use the old adage 'well im a guest here so...' and do you know what, it works surprisingly well! ????
  22. This certainly wasnt true when I was there. They gave you a choice. Either you paid on the spot or you had to go to the police station miles away by taxi as they wouldn't let you drive your bike there until you had paid. 99% of people chose to pay on the spot fines. Tea money in a jar.
