  1. how the hell does it save lives if they are fined 500/1000 baht on the spot and then are allowed to go on their merry little way, whether they have a licence or not?? The police couldn't care less about saving farang lives. Their tea money is all that matters to them.
  2. stop spinning it and tell the truth for once will you! They pull foreigners over whether they are wearing a helmet or not. thais are always waved through. I know. I used to live there!
  3. Phuket has some of the most corrupt police officers in the country. Having spent extended periods there in the past, I have been stopped numerous times. It was always the same story. Locals got waved through, farangs had to pay. Disgusting and shameful but I have come to expect nothing less from the RTP.
  4. I agree with you. But it's still better than the military junta. Even if it's only by a fraction. With MFP in the opposition they can go hammer and tongs at the 11 party coalition and start to dismantle it in full public view.
  5. STILL better than the absolute shower we have had since 2014. no more attitude adjustment, self censorship, banning books etc. Thailand has taken a very small but significant step toward democracy. Only time well tell how long it lasts.....
  6. I sometimes wish the same mate ????
  7. what time is he being released on bail? ????
  8. and rightly so too! i only wish i was there to join the party. infact, what times the bus? ????
  9. I think his Thai ID card has really gone to his head! god knows what he will be like when he gets his tuk tuk licence ????
  10. just asking for a 2nd opinion. its obvious you hate thaksin and democracy. why dont you get it together?
  11. the following is from chat gpt 4: "does Thaksin Shinawatra dislike western people?" As of my last update in September 2021, there's no clear evidence or consistent messaging that suggests Thaksin Shinawatra, the former Prime Minister of Thailand, harbors a general dislike for Western people. It's important to differentiate between a political leader's policy decisions or critiques of foreign governments and a personal sentiment towards the people of a particular region. Thaksin Shinawatra has had a complex relationship with Western governments, particularly the United States. At times during his tenure as Prime Minister (2001-2006), he cooperated closely with the West on various issues, including counter-terrorism efforts. However, he also had disagreements with Western governments on various matters. It's essential to approach such topics with caution and avoid making generalized assumptions based on limited data or isolated events. If you're looking for current views or statements by Thaksin Shinawatra, it would be best to refer to recent interviews, articles, or public statements he may have made after 2021.
