  1. Thanks my friend...
  2. All these guys are thieves, this is just the tip of the iceberg.. I personally know of on incident. Director of a college was renting out a building on campus for a 7-11 type shop. He closed the school so the kids could not leave during lunch so the store could make more money and he could charge more rent. Rent was 300K / yr. The teachers were to afraid to say anything. He was pocketing every cent.. Thailand is full of these trolls..
  3. Yes, mine is a 2.5L turbo diesel.
  4. Ok, what is your bet Sargent, Two M-16's and an RPG Buriram sweeps the series...
  5. I don't know , my GF of many years always wai's and says a prayer when she gets in the pickup with me... haha I need all the help I can get... ????
  6. I have learned to be somewhat proactive. As a foreigner that has lived here on and off for years. I hide out during all Thai holidays. Unless an emergency my old jalopy doesn't even get cranked until the carnage is over..
  7. Fingers crossed, I will keep it as long as I can keep it running. It's starting to show it's age. Paint is getting faded and plastic inside is turning. Especially around the door panels. It was the cheapest truck I could buy when I bought it so I am more than happy with it... 14 years and still going if this repair fixes it.. Looked at a new Toyota and Isuzu , it sure was tempting. With the baht running over 38/dollar I could of walked out with a new truck for about 19K....
  8. Just in from the Bosh guy, he said he found one in BKK for 18000 Baht. I am really out of my element here but I tole him to get it and install it. He said he would give a 3 month warranty. It will be here next week. I will let you know how it goes. With everything about 800 US dollars was the quote he gave me. I went looking for a new truck today also. Toyota , Isuzu. fairly basic model was 720,000 Baht. This old Ford has 355 KM on the clock so? Not sure how much longer I have with it. .
  9. I first took it into the local mechanic. He could not find the problem. He intern took it to a certified Bosch shop. So they diagnosed the problem as a bad high pressure pump. Actually it is in their shop as I write this. So far they have had no luck finding a used one. Evidently there is a spring that is broken in the pump assembly or something that pumps the hight pressure diesel into the common rail. I am no expert what so ever so I am taking their word for it. Just for the heck of it I went to Ford and got a price and it was more than the truck was worth... ugggg Problem is the body and engine are in good shape, but this fuel problem is turning out to be an expensive problem for me.. But, then again I know nothing about this. Luckily I have another car available so I can leave it there until the problem is fixed... But, if to expensive then I will just junk it. I just hate to junk it just because of a fuel problem. But, I was not expecting the cost. Most of the time when I have a problem the locals can fix it with no problems and little cost.
  10. Just about in time for the yearly burning of cane and rice fields here in Thailand.... Perfect timing.
  11. I am doing that exact thing, I am from the US, But, I can tell you it is cheaper for me in the US than here in Thailand. Even with the utilities rising. And Thailand gets boring to me after a few months.
  12. I have got an old 2008 Ranger with a Fuel injector pump bad. Does anyone know where to find one here in Thailand. I was quoted 73000 baht at Ford. So, I would like to find a used one or a China knock off. But, having a hard time of it. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
  13. I have it on good authority that Thailand is going to annex Russia and China! And start 24/7 flights from each for tourism.
  14. Thailands economy is pretty strong. Definitely better than it's neighbors.
  15. Although Thailand is in pretty good shape I think, if it ever comes to a run on the banks! Your money will be the first to be seized. Also the folks with the 800K deposits will be the absolute first to loose all their guarantee moneys. You rich farang need to suck it up and make sure Thailand stays afloat.
  16. Sure. 1: Thailand is set up to rip off tourists. ATM fees are 220/transaction. 5-7 dollars Laos where I just left was 1.25 dollars. Malaysia where I also like was free. 2: I opened an account so I could use the scan here in Thailand. What a joke that is. If out of the district. They charge you to get cash AND to put cash into your account. LOL. What a racket. 3. If you want an ATM card they charge you a yearly fee just to have one... LOL But, in all fairness the Thai's are the ones that get hit with that. Even in the states the highest I have ever been charged is 3 bucks... No wonder they call it the LOS's. they are smiling all the way to the bank..
  17. This is going to be interesting to watch. The elite and the government favor China. How they step threw the mine field of China US relations and who they align with will be the question. My bet is they will align with China!
  18. Ok, I will say it again, banks in Thailand are the biggest rip offs in the modern world. All baseless babble aside.
  19. They need to do everything they can to off set their dependence on China. Biden just doubled down on the Chip act. If working for a Chinese company or caught helping, you loose your citizenship in the US. People are quitting there jobs by the thousands. Thailand is bound to get caught up in this sooner than later. Thailand has already pi$$ed off the western expats and tourists beyond repair. If they get cross ways with the US government then they will need to have some deep pockets to restructure their economy. Interesting to see what happens in the next couple of years.
  20. Love Thailand when the Dollar to Baht is so good.. Laos is a bargain also. Just spent a month there exploring and it was hard to spend 1000 dollars.. I will enjoy it while it lasts then vacate SE Asia. Much better places when the dollar is not so strong.
  21. The banks in Thailand are the biggest rip off's in the world.
  22. Actually I quite enjoyed it.. At first I thought you might know what you were talking about! But after running the numbers and looking into it? It's obvious you don't have a clue.
  23. Thought I would see if China would sell me a sub. I am not picky. I don't need an engine. I will just bob around for a while. When I run out of food. I will head in and see if things have cooled off.
  24. Thailand is following China's lead. Nothing more. Personally I am out of here until things cool off. Luckily I did not burn my bridges years ago. Hopefully things will cool off soon.
