Again this nonsense. Having been in the British Army and having a keen interest in law, I read the 4inch thick Military Law Manual several times. Obviously it is good practice not to leave valuables out on display, but not an offence same as stupidity is not an offence in the military. If stupidity was an offence in the military officers personal records would be so thick to make it impossible to file...... lol

I do not see the relevance of you comment! Brining the army into disrepute was a very common charge when I was in and quite often used because of lack of knowledge of military law. I have argued against its use many times. The article comment was about a theft and the quote "in the British army you "The Victim" gets charged for your money or kit being stolen! This is false and I've personally never seen it being used or attempted to be used. Just British military folk law myth.

You presume people who chose to ride motorbikes are poor! Last vehicle I had in Thailand was a Ford Everest 4×4, and 3 motorbikes all of which I bought from new. I've riden motorbikes for 47 years. For me and many like me a car is something you need and would never dream of going for a drive in for pleasure, however, my motorbikes are for pure enjoyment and I love just going out for a ride.......

Very strange comment! Both locations developed to cater for foreigners "GI's" during the Vietnam War. Even now without foreigners they would be ghost towns as seen during covid, which kind of stopped the notion that Thailand wasn't dependant on foreigners both tourists and their investment.

First put every military person who was involved in a coup behind bars. Then and only then can anyone spout political fueled hatred against any and all duely elected PM. A Coup is the highest crime any soldier can commit and until those who participate in a coup recieve just punishment the cycle will never stop.

I think you will find in Thailand scooters small motor bikes do not require added insurance as they are supposed to be covered 3rd party with their road tax. Even if you want it you will get blank stares.

Be careful, 2" 11 (90cm) isn't high or safe enough. UK building regs minimum hight is 3ft 7 (1.1m) 20cm higher and its that for a reason. Again be careful.

If your in Thailand try it, you will be socked at the black smoke. Put your old Ford ranger in N. Then rev hard 2/3 times and watch the thick black smoke spew out. I got m Triton 4x4 in 2005 new and my Ford Everest 4x4 new in 2011 and both would spew black smoke if exhilarated hard from lights or reved hard in neutral. However, my Rav 4 AWD in the uk not a drope of black smoke. The only thing I can think of is non existing cat or different diesel.

Have you ever been in Thailand? If a person is 6ft or more its very easy to take a nose dive in Thailand due to the rail being so low. I'm OK because I'm a short arse Jock but still avoid hotel balconies.

Curious, what is a scuba dive leader? Having been a Master Scuba Diving Instructor who worked in Thailand, it's a term I've never heard! Open water, Advanced diver, Dive Master, Instructor etc. Genuinely curious!
