BritScot replied to webfact's topic in Pattaya News

Thai man kills girlfriend in jealous rage over religion
BritScot replied to webfact's topic in Southern Thailand News
3 go into the wilderness, tempted by the devil and 3 come out: the first lives a life of poverty roaming and talking of his 3 truths, second; life and early death preaching understanding and peace and the 3rd becomes a warlord raises an army and war, conquering country after country with over 150 million dead and counting. Think that says it all. -
Another vindictive character in Thailand. Why so twisted? Expats use agents for all kinds of reasons and one is the belief that there will be less hassle. I used an agent once when I was a scuba diving instructor and the reason back then was working on an island and work permits were non existing. I was very lucky as left thailand before it came out the agent was just stamping the passports himself. This caused friend to end up in prison and a 100,000baht fine plus banned for life (one of the nicest guys ive met). The agent was sitting in his shop, sign still up with nothing at all happending to him. However, I also new a very good and honest agent who became very rich from providing a good service. I would never decry anyone who used such a service.

Thai tourism revolution: Duty-free ditch and booze bonanza
BritScot replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
I don't know what cheap malt you are buying in litre bottles as most decent malts I drink only come in 70cl and my favourite malt your lucky to buy any bigger than 50cl "Scapa". Oh Santa has got me a 25 year old malt Glenfiddich for my collection and yes all 70cl. Wish Santa new about Scapa Web site as I would have been happy with 50cl. -
Park Defends Entrance Fee For Visiting ‘Wild Boars’ Cave
BritScot replied to webfact's topic in Chiang Rai News
Just can't help it! Two facts here for your moral compass: 1. People died during a rescue that was mostly performed by western cave dive team 2. The racist pricing which you would NEVER find in the west. -

Maybe you need to research, open your eyes before believing everything you read as literal! Phew! Some people.... bahhh, bahhh, bahhh. -
Fire Destroys Luxury Sedan Belonging to Police Officer in Kathu
BritScot replied to webfact's topic in Phuket News
Yes I realise that is whay is in the article. However, I am looking with my eyes and what I'm seeing is intense heat fire source in the area of where a battery is situated and not where the fuel tank is. -

Battery fires are very quick, you would not notice the flames to start with. From the photo and other Battery fires I've seen this looks typical. Do a little Google search of ev fires especially China. This vehicle is possibly a hybrid so there will also be petrol or diesel fire. -
Fire Destroys Luxury Sedan Belonging to Police Officer in Kathu
BritScot replied to webfact's topic in Phuket News
I would go with ev or hybrid as a good bet. Petrol/diesel fires normally ignite and burn under the hood and not under the seats where the batteries are stored. I personally would not let my family go in an EV I think they are far to dangerous. -
Olympic medallist Somluck faces attempted rape charges in Khon Kaen
BritScot replied to webfact's topic in Isaan News
I feel so sorry for this guy, the cops smell money so they will hound him. You must be having a laugh "attempted rape" come on, if he was intent on rape I do not think the woman/girl could stop him. As said he saw she was underage and just went to sleep and for me that is a man of character. No screaming, no running out the door just a concocted story with the hope of a payout..... so many flaws. Poor guy. -
Phat Kaphrao ranked third best dish in the world by Taste Atlas
BritScot replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
Why no surprise? Scottish beef "Aberdeen Angus" second (I would say best) in the world so a british steak dinner is no where! Then one of the nicest bits of beef I've had was American buffalo/bison while in Canada again no where to be seen. So many game foods readily available and nothing... mince and chilli wow......lol -
Minimum wage hikes unlikely to impact Thai goods pricing significantly
BritScot replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
The minimum wage in Thailand is scandalous. When goods manufactured in Thailand cost more in Thailand than in the uk after export import says it all. Prices are not cheaper in Thailand infact often are more expensive so when people are paid £12 for a 12+ hour day compared to £12 an hour and contribution to a pension is not far off slave labour. -
Fine Arts Dept wants speedy return of Thai artefacts from USA
BritScot replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
And Thailand should pay war retribution's to the UK and their allies over WW2 or thank America for the pathetic excuse saving them billions. -
Journalist Seriously Injured After Getting Blasted by Shotgun in Pattaya
BritScot replied to webfact's topic in Pattaya News
Sorry not everyone is a coward! Some people have principles. -
People forget he was ousted by a coup so any charges there after should be nullified. I am not a fan but having lived in Thailand when he was in power things were far better for foreigners and the GDP was 12~14%. The greatest crime it to take a country at the end of a gun and not one single general as corrupt as they are seeing a single day inside a prison cell. Even with the temple massacre blood on his hands.
-
And Peter Pan and Never Never Land are real holiday locations. Sorry but if you believe what comes from the Thai authorities you should invest every penny in Thai stocks. I don't see any great announcement for the 75% of foreign investment that left Thailand after the last coup. Also the foreign currency reserves aren't being crowed about anymore. Then there is the gold mine compensation???

Thai restaurant owner loses 600,000 baht during family trip to France
BritScot replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
All that quite often happens to tourists in Thailand. My advice to this family "Don't buy any lotto or raffle tickets for a while". -
You mean like military generals were so good? The state Thailand is in right now is directly the result of two coups. What has happened to the mythical us dollar reserve that used to be crowed about? Rhetorical question. Generals are quite good at putting budgets into their personal accounts and when caught "misunderstanding"!
