Thai Cabinet rejects gender recognition bill, citing crime concerns
BritScot replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
You really need to look up what right wing means. The UK has a Tory government which is as left leaning as Tony Blairs government was. Being a real Conservative or Republican is not Right Wing same as loving your country isn't right wing. -
Probe Proposed Into Thaksin’s ‘Critical Illnesses’
BritScot replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
You obviously have no idea about arthritis/bone joint damage. I've been on morphine for 16 years due to lower back broken/damaged, hips, both ankles and both wrists. From injuries I got in the army. Pain is hellish because its 24/7. I was told by a specialist not to let anyone operate on my back because the risks are not worth the possible results. -
Krabi rampage: Chinese woman blocks road, tries undress, bites cop

And she wonders why she got dumped. Lucky escape for the guy. Pity I was not so lucky several times as I used to be a nutcase magnet. -
Former Cambodian PM Hun Sen to visit Thaksin tomorrow
BritScot replied to snoop1130's topic in Thailand News
I just shake my head at some of the posters on here. Mr T. was ellected by the people as was his sister. The crime above all crimes is for a soldier to take the country at the end of a gun and the penalty for that crime should be the ultimate punishment. Thailand is and always will be a country cowering under the threat of the military jack boot. People should remember that and until true justice is carried out leave Mr T. and his Sister alone. I never liked Mr T. however, the majority of people of Thailand did! -

Thailand braces for intense heat with temperatures soaring

Then headlines Record Floods. People used to laugh at the idiots walking on the street with chalk boards "The world is ending" now they are all over main stream media. A couple of weeks ago in the UK "Over 8 inches of snow to fall all over the uk over night". We hardly got a snow flake at my home in Scotland. -
Thailand’s fiery plight: 400+ hotspots spark concern

And they have the neck to go on about reducing co2 and pushing EVs.... Until it effects the elite's pockets nothing will ever be done. -
Not at 8 years old. I could have put my daughter on horse at a very young age but I waited till she was 10. My daughter is a good rider, jumps 5" with ease but I wouldn't put her in the grand national or a steeple chase. 8 years old is far to young regardless of how many are around them. It was an endurance and an 8 year olds body should not be subjected to those rigours. God I was an adult and the army left me a disabled cripple from rigours abuse.

Thailand tourism council study reveals surprising spending trends
BritScot replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
Most people in the world now have less money to play with due to rising prices, so Thailand is no different. People commenting about Thais only earning 10k, please wake up as not all Thais earn basic wadge and those that do normally get quite large annual bonuses. -
Again this nonsense. Having been in the British Army and having a keen interest in law, I read the 4inch thick Military Law Manual several times. Obviously it is good practice not to leave valuables out on display, but not an offence same as stupidity is not an offence in the military. If stupidity was an offence in the military officers personal records would be so thick to make it impossible to file...... lol

I do not see the relevance of you comment! Brining the army into disrepute was a very common charge when I was in and quite often used because of lack of knowledge of military law. I have argued against its use many times. The article comment was about a theft and the quote "in the British army you "The Victim" gets charged for your money or kit being stolen! This is false and I've personally never seen it being used or attempted to be used. Just British military folk law myth.

You presume people who chose to ride motorbikes are poor! Last vehicle I had in Thailand was a Ford Everest 4×4, and 3 motorbikes all of which I bought from new. I've riden motorbikes for 47 years. For me and many like me a car is something you need and would never dream of going for a drive in for pleasure, however, my motorbikes are for pure enjoyment and I love just going out for a ride.......

Government finds itself backed into a corner on digital wallet scheme
BritScot replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
It should have been means tested and not a blanket 10,000baht for everyone. A welfare payment, but I suppose the same people would still be screaming about it. Heaven forbid the poor get any help.... Hold your heads in shame!!! -
Well done young man. However, I still think it is utter stupidity and very reckless of his parents to have encouraged him/allowed him to undertake such a challenge at such a young age. It is very popular sport/hobby even here in Scotland. The beach in our village there are often half a dozen people kite surfing and it's very pleasant to watch.

Pattaya Beach Umbrella Operator Arrested for Alleged Child Sexual Abuse
BritScot replied to webfact's topic in Pattaya News

Thai Airways takes flight with new Boeing 787 jets
BritScot replied to snoop1130's topic in Thailand News
I agree, a company that was technically bankrupt not that long ago keep buying, has it magically cleared all its debt? Is it now in mega profit that it can afford these aircraft purchases? Don't companies restructure and lay off to ballance the books? Coming soon "American company fined for paying kick backs" me thinks. I think Rolls Royce won't play the Thai game after getting their fingers burnt is the reason Thailand isn't buying their engins.
