Russians conned in 720,000 baht Phuket villa booking scam
BritScot replied to snoop1130's topic in Phuket News
Just pure nasty. -
Sorry but it is still a coup.
-
First put every military person who was involved in a coup behind bars. Then and only then can anyone spout political fueled hatred against any and all duely elected PM. A Coup is the highest crime any soldier can commit and until those who participate in a coup recieve just punishment the cycle will never stop.

British Tourist Dies After Fall from Pattaya Hotel
BritScot replied to webfact's topic in Pattaya News
Be careful, 2" 11 (90cm) isn't high or safe enough. UK building regs minimum hight is 3ft 7 (1.1m) 20cm higher and its that for a reason. Again be careful. -
Thai emission laws transform: What drivers need to know
BritScot replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
If your in Thailand try it, you will be socked at the black smoke. Put your old Ford ranger in N. Then rev hard 2/3 times and watch the thick black smoke spew out. I got m Triton 4x4 in 2005 new and my Ford Everest 4x4 new in 2011 and both would spew black smoke if exhilarated hard from lights or reved hard in neutral. However, my Rav 4 AWD in the uk not a drope of black smoke. The only thing I can think of is non existing cat or different diesel. -

Have you ever been in Thailand? If a person is 6ft or more its very easy to take a nose dive in Thailand due to the rail being so low. I'm OK because I'm a short arse Jock but still avoid hotel balconies. -
Prince Andrew is an idiot, and I'm not a fan. However, he should have not paid the extortion claim. In the UK legal age is 16. He was told to pay and I think because there is a lot about Megan and epstine which would have been far worse for the Royals. Plus while in USA he is covered with diplomatic immunity. When the American woman who was flown out of the uk on a military aircraft after murdering an innocent Brit with her car. So all you Americans get your house in order and hand her over.

Curious, what is a scuba dive leader? Having been a Master Scuba Diving Instructor who worked in Thailand, it's a term I've never heard! Open water, Advanced diver, Dive Master, Instructor etc. Genuinely curious! -
Thai emission laws transform: What drivers need to know
BritScot replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
It is strange how my triton then my Ford Everest purchased new, well serviced. Every time I rev the engine, big black clouds of smoke spewed from their exhausts. This means in my eyes Thailands diesel or even exhausts are not 100%. My 7 year old Rav 4 in the uk not one bit of black smoke when reved. -
TripAdvisor ranks Pattaya as 7th Best of the Best Destinations in 2024
BritScot replied to webfact's topic in Pattaya News
Personally hate the place. Not because of the area but the type of people who go there. Plus the sea is full of human sh!t. However, just next to the place is Jomtien, which I found quite nice as long as swiming in the sea isn't your thing. People who live and go there seem nicer (2004). Our go to place now is Krabi. -

What a pathetic post! The reference to Peasants is a valid term referring to the non elite class and is not derogatory. The Peasant Revolt of 1381 England is where it gets its validity. It is still in common use by people describing themselves when talking about the elite and how we the peasants feel we are treated and thought of. -
Altercation Turns Violent: Englishman and wife injured in Knife Duel
BritScot replied to webfact's topic in Pattaya News
Dream world. I'm also a Jock and in my experience Scottish women can be very violent. Hence now I'm married to an Asian from a very good family. I have had many friends in Thailand with violent wives/gf and for some bizzare reason stay with them. One guy wouldn't live above ground floor. The one thing they all had in common was the profession of their wife/gf before them (that profession leaves deep scares) being a cashier and honest its my first night..... -
Australian Who Overstayed in Phuket Finally Back Home
BritScot replied to webfact's topic in Phuket News
People on here need to take a long hard look in the mirror. It's quite disgusting. He had his wallet stollen, he made a police report. Missed flight for 3,000baht. OMG. He was leaving the country...... -
Drunk British Man Launches Brutal Attack on Pattaya Bolt Driver: Update
BritScot replied to webfact's topic in Pattaya News
Very well said. Reported one sided story that sounds bizzare. The Brit said self defence. Also possible: Thai Bolt tried to rip the Brit off who new how much the ride costs. The Brit says "Stop"! Gets out gives 100baht and gets a motorbike taxi. Bolt follows then attacks Brit. If Bolt guy new address and all was above board could have gone to the police. -
If your embassy is correct then every expat is going to get a massive tax bill and its very simple because minimum 400,000baht ~ 800,000baht has to be brought in to Thailand for a retierment visa every year. The Thai government is not your friend. They want every satang they can squeeze out of you. Only when thousands of expats leave will it become another misunderstanding.

Update: British teacher arrested for sexual assault in Thailand
BritScot replied to webfact's topic in Bangkok News
Wow, such an expert. I never new that pedophiles look differently in other countries. He just looks like an ordinary bloke. I wouldn't post your photo and avoid mirrors. -
Very strange comment coming from someone called scubascuba! As you should know snorkeling is very, very dangerous once you hold your breath and dive below the surface. Due to pressure the growing co2 level in your blood is compressed. On returning to the surface the co2 level expands due to lack of pressure. When you get near the surface the level of co2 in your blood expands so much that you can simply pass out. When you pass out you start to breath and still being under the surface, you drown. This is taught or should be taught on a Dive master or Dive instructors course (I can't remember which one). Padi master scuba diving instructor or maybe I know nothing. Do you not wonder why this keeps on happening.

I remember on Kow Taow you could buy magic mushroom shakes and weed in a little bar/shack right across from the police station. -
Lithuanian man fined 12,000 baht for drifting BMW in Chon Buri
BritScot replied to webfact's topic in Pattaya News
Bizzare! You did read that he didn't have a licence? The poin that's being made is the inconsistencies between Thai and foreign. A Thai might have been fined 500 and at a push 1000baht fine and a Wia!
