Mould Spreading Rapidly In Newly-Purchased House in Khon Kaen
BritScot replied to webfact's topic in Isaan News
I don't understand why especially Thai people don't buy land and have a house built on it, buy every nail, screw and material needed so you know what is being used and above all "project manage the build". Savings are massive and you know its done right. I did it and built a small 110 square metre bungalow built on the foundation for a 3 storey house teak doors quality tiles etc for 750,000baht in 2010. I put a high roof with vents either side so air flow and guess what my house doesn't get too hot. 13 years and no problems. 3 bedroom detached bungalow..... Nice wee house. 2 million and you could build a nice big house and maybe a small swiming pool. -
I've just realised I'm also a victim! I remember when I was getting my tattoos on my arms several times other parts of my arm were touched pinched or moved as he tattooed the area.... what utter crap.... I'm sorry but a woman getting her tits out for a tattoo then crying because her tits were touched.... omfg!!!

You should do a little research because these clowns on YouTube are making £100000's for their content if I goes viral. Nearly all the content on YouTube are doing it for the money and the more outrageous or crazy they are the more they make with every click, like or thumbs down and then more for the comments left. Why do you think so many celebrities have jumped on this money train.

Opinions are like A****. everyone has one. In all the years I lived in Thailand since 2002 to 2019 this consisted of several breaks back to the uk to live. I lived the dream of island life as a diving instructor, Bangkok and village life and I noticed people go through different stages of loving Thailand and as the rose coloured glasses slip to hating thailand, then they leave. The ones who invested far to much become trapped they become very twisted attacking anyone who dares to shine a light on their rose coloured life. We still have a house in Thailand, obviously family and friends but our life in the uk is far, far better on many levels. Our children have far more opportunities, my wife has good friends, job she loves and holidays in the uk she enjoys and me I have my garden, social and friends. Yes best move ever. Thailand is for the obligation holiday to see our house and family/friends. Note, I'm no ponce and never been called one to my face only by KBW.

Lost its charm in 2004 for me. Roads became concrete and the atmosphere evaporated. -

Phuket officials working on plans to ease dependence on tourism
BritScot replied to webfact's topic in Phuket News
So a holiday island minus the tourist just leaves an empty broke, poverty stricken rural landscape. Sometimes I just shake my head at their stupidity. How about investing in the one industry making in safer and enjoyable for both Thai and foreigners so they tell their friend and come back? However, the mentality of screwing every satang and ripping off, assaulting and scamming as much as you can with the mentality of so what there is more until you find out your reputation has stopped millions from coming. -
Less of the derogatory remarks about the UK please! The uk is a very beautiful country and I have lived in 3rd world Thailand and there is no comparison unless your chassing young girls or boys in your old age. We moved back to the uk in 2019 and never regretted it once infact the thought of moving back to thailand for more than a holiday sends shivers of fear through my children who have great lives here in the uk. The dark cloud that hangs over me is that family commitments drag us back to thailand.

Thailand’s household-debt storm taking deadly toll on guarantors
BritScot replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
Never invest more than you can easily walk away from. Nice to see someone thinking the right way. I built a bungalow and the budget was 10 years worth of rent @ 10,000baht per month my thinking was we had a child and the house would be his home if for some reason I had to walk away. Well we did walk away from Thailand after 8 years we still have our house and the investment was less than would have paid in rent (house was under budget as I designed and project managed plus bought every thing myself) 18 years married very happy living in the uk with our second home in thailand. Again never ever invest in Thailand any more than you can afford to walk away from! -

Think you have recieved bad financial advice but a very good excuse. I was an expat on retierment visa and purchased over the years one pickup, one suv and 3 big bikes all on finance. I could walk into tisco bank and walk out with a vehicle loan never once a problem. -
What dribble! First 1 ton Pickups in Thailand are basically the same dimension width and length with high changed by suspension etc. If you are concerned about tearing up the roads don't look at pickups look at ev's as their weight "battery" not only destroys the roads but also destroys any car it hits due to its weight. Weight/speed!!!! All a raptor is, is a Wildtrack with factory off road add ons.

Must disagree about it not being easy to get a loan or credit card for a Thai. My wife who had no job got a credit card because married to me while I would have to deposit say 50,000 baht to get a 50,000 baht credit card so I would be borrowing my money and paying interest for the pleasure. Obviously I said NO!

Used car sales in Thailand are scum who pray on people who can't get credit to buy a new car or people desperate for money selling their car. In 2019 when I was leaving Thailand I took my 4yr old 4 x 4 everest to several dealers and even though they were selling 2 WD Everest for a million baht that was a year older than my Everest, they offered me 50,000baht (thinking desperate to sell). I sold private and got 800,000baht.
