Thai PM sees a role for Thaksin when he gets out of jail
BritScot replied to snoop1130's topic in Thailand News
I did not like Thaksin when he was PM but he was elected by the people and he did a very good job. Just look at the countries accomplishments: GDP, foreign investment, English level and education..... -
Russian Man Returns Home After Living at the Phuket Airport for 14 Days

Such hatred for expats. Why oh why? Do you realise if all expats left tomorrow emptying their accounts the results for Thailand would be very serious and quite possible cause a run on thai banks. -
Why? The people who should be in prison are those generals who stole the country at the end of a gun from the elected PM's and their government. Especially the one who ordered the shooting of unarmed civilians at the temple then took over the elected government just as he was about to go on trial and hounded the very brave nurse who witnessed all as she gave aid... They are the true criminals.

Thai Air Force In Joint Drill With US Air National Guards
BritScot replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
Why do people still spout this? The colonial powers saw Thailand as a useful buffer border and that's why Britain never colonised Thailand. Thailand only lasted minutes against Japan who colonised Thailand and then joined Japan fighting against the allies and also should have paid war retribution's but usa wanted a foot hold in Asia. The "lost on the post excuse" makes one laugh. -
Thai food’s bold blend of flavours: A culinary delight with a fatal bite
BritScot replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
Some years ago thai vegetables and herbs were tested and all found to be poisonous and some being deadly: parsley was the worst I think. -
Chuan Suggests Srettha To Never Follow In Thaksin’s Footsteps
BritScot replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
What crazy advice! Maybe he should be telling the criminal generals who amass fortunes in quite a low paying rolls not to take over the country at the end of a gun. -
Chuan Suggests Srettha To Never Follow In Thaksin’s Footsteps

Look at how well the country did under his leadership and that's why. GDP 12 to 14% or more I think. -
Dribble or you don't know many intelligent people. Being intelligent is not the same as being clever and some of the really intelligent people I have known are quite stupid away from their chosen field. Reasons people buy electric cars to start off was financial (government incentives even free electric chargers etc which now have all stopped) look at me now it's a tick box exercise. Any one with half a brain that looks into the production of the rare metals and still buys a ev is quite a damaged individual. Then to have a time bomb in your home is a risk I would never take infact I would not now allow my children to ride in a ev. Note UK: People so easily forget a few years ago it was diesel engines good so people purchased them then the switch and road tax went through the roof for them as diesel now bad.

Thaksin's Family Refutes Fake News; Misleading Post Sparks Outrage
BritScot replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
Kangaroo Court convictions. Both were duly elected by the people and would be again. The real criminals are those with tanks and guns who invade their own country to take power at the end of a gun. While they walk free I would show some humility... shhhhhh -

He is right! My Thai wife was refused a lottery ticket in tesco Scotland (it is stricked): she was mid 20's and pushing our 2 year old son in his pushchair and I was with her. You can go into a pub if accompanied with an adult in the uk but can't buy alcohol.

It was my reaction to comment regarding teachers generally so my comment is valid. Male's who become teachers are not deviant as the post stated. -
Could Srettha Be Free Of Thaksin’s Influence? Academic
BritScot replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
People forget that Mr T. Was the most successful Thai PM with 14% gdp and more. Table positions in education especially English were far higher under his watch as was corruption was far lower. I never liked him but the Thai people did and he was the best person for the job. Being an ex soldier I hold any soldier who takes over their elected government with disdain. -

Only if he promised to marry them. Give gifts as bf/gf then tough. There has to be a contract be it verbal or written is my understanding. If the if the investment was a business venture that never happened then that is fraudulent and criminal. -

They just can't help themselves! Rising sea levels? Please. Correct headline should be "Poorly constructed cost road washed away" suspected corruption involved!!! Just looking at this a blind man can see it wasn't constructed correctly: where is the breaker, where is the sea wall?
