  1. Unbelievable people on here. She was ousted by what is the most serious criminal act in a democracy "a military coup". She did the right thing and called an election and the opposition went into meltdown and tried to stop the ballot knowing she would easily win so some land was purchased and a coup was bought. The country again dragged down with Unbelievably high levels of coruption and incompetence. The real criminals walk free with justice pushed aside and any who protested thrown in prison. Temple murders, gold mine, toyota shack down, military corruption, slavery one could go on and on. However, these are not crimes but currupt officials who stole in the rice pledge scheme are the then serving pm fault, oh what happened to all the money when the rice was sold off?
  2. I think your assumption that the reason people in the west pull out of the way of ambulance (you will find all emergency vehicles when lights flashing) has nothing to do with fines and all to do with road manor's.
  3. Had a long think and I initially came to Thailand for scuba diving after seeing a holiday brochure at a married friends house. I was shocked as having served in Hong Kong Thailand had a very seedy reputation so i avoided the place. Maximum time I would spend in Bkk was one night then on a bus to Champon for the boat to Kow Tow. I fell in love with Kow Tow when it was a paradise of sandy streets and the most deadly thing to watch out for were falling coconuts. So not everyone initially comes for the women. My friend and his wife definatly didn't and neither did I.
  4. I believe break fluid is better as you can't just repaint it as the fluid reacts with the metal or might just be an old wives tail as never been that pissed off to try it.
  5. Is it just me but not much of a house for a Rear Admiral!
  6. Or maybe, just maybe another angle: thai woman driver hits russian man's vehicle then tries to drive off. Russian man tries to stop her then Thai man jumps out of her car and attacks russian but gets slapped about...... Sounds more normal Thailand.......
  7. Yes. 100% yes. What I am surprised with this article is the 200,000baht price tag when it is or was quite common for families to sell their daughter for as little as 20,000baht. Still in Thailand it is common for massage, bars etc to lend money to families or girls so they are trapped. Very common.
  8. And if you are caught you will do time. This is Thailand!
  9. Really nieve thing to say. Many young guys get knocked out by men in their 50's or even 60's. New a real gentleman with only one leg knocked 2 young gus out who were throwing their weight around. Only one leg and 60.
  10. 3 go into the wilderness, tempted by the devil and 3 come out: the first lives a life of poverty roaming and talking of his 3 truths, second; life and early death preaching understanding and peace and the 3rd becomes a warlord raises an army and war, conquering country after country with over 150 million dead and counting. Think that says it all.
  11. Reading the nasty, negative omens on here, I just shake my head then realie it's the same old negativers. Good idea if not abused by government officials. Well done.
  12. Another vindictive character in Thailand. Why so twisted? Expats use agents for all kinds of reasons and one is the belief that there will be less hassle. I used an agent once when I was a scuba diving instructor and the reason back then was working on an island and work permits were non existing. I was very lucky as left thailand before it came out the agent was just stamping the passports himself. This caused friend to end up in prison and a 100,000baht fine plus banned for life (one of the nicest guys ive met). The agent was sitting in his shop, sign still up with nothing at all happending to him. However, I also new a very good and honest agent who became very rich from providing a good service. I would never decry anyone who used such a service.
  13. And expats are better off without smug "Look at me" types.
  14. How on earth can you spin the incompetence of the current on the success of his predecessor? Only in a really twisted mind. Anyway this is about Thailand not America!!!
  15. I don't know what cheap malt you are buying in litre bottles as most decent malts I drink only come in 70cl and my favourite malt your lucky to buy any bigger than 50cl "Scapa". Oh Santa has got me a 25 year old malt Glenfiddich for my collection and yes all 70cl. Wish Santa new about Scapa Web site as I would have been happy with 50cl.
  16. Just can't help it! Two facts here for your moral compass: 1. People died during a rescue that was mostly performed by western cave dive team 2. The racist pricing which you would NEVER find in the west.
  17. One of my deepest regrets was going to a tiger temple and witnessing these beautiful massive cat's and knowing it was so wrong as they had to be so drugged up so a monk could sit next to it for people to stroke it for selfish.....
  18. Must be a very dangerous office wearing a high vis behind a desk!
  19. If you hate expats so much why troll on a site that originally started for expats? Serious question as it baffles me.
  20. Maybe you need to research, open your eyes before believing everything you read as literal! Phew! Some people.... bahhh, bahhh, bahhh.
  21. Yes I realise that is whay is in the article. However, I am looking with my eyes and what I'm seeing is intense heat fire source in the area of where a battery is situated and not where the fuel tank is.
  22. Battery fires are very quick, you would not notice the flames to start with. From the photo and other Battery fires I've seen this looks typical. Do a little Google search of ev fires especially China. This vehicle is possibly a hybrid so there will also be petrol or diesel fire.
  23. I would go with ev or hybrid as a good bet. Petrol/diesel fires normally ignite and burn under the hood and not under the seats where the batteries are stored. I personally would not let my family go in an EV I think they are far to dangerous.
  24. I feel so sorry for this guy, the cops smell money so they will hound him. You must be having a laugh "attempted rape" come on, if he was intent on rape I do not think the woman/girl could stop him. As said he saw she was underage and just went to sleep and for me that is a man of character. No screaming, no running out the door just a concocted story with the hope of a payout..... so many flaws. Poor guy.
