Stormy Daniels: Trump invited to testify before grand jury
dotcalm replied to onthedarkside's topic in World News
If you're referring to a witness's grand jury testimony, they are not "defendants", but only a witness. Only a person charged with a crime is referred to as the "defendant". A GJ witness cannot produce their own self serving evidence unless asked, they have no 6th amendment protection (right to counsel) but have protections afforded by the 5th amendment only. -
Stormy Daniels: Trump invited to testify before grand jury

Don't be ridiculous, Trump will never go to prison, especially not for a misdemeanor. I only bring context to the story presented and just to say that the time is running out to file a charge, some charge, ANYTHING against the MAGA leader. The feds saw no crimes worth perusing but the NYAG has spent an inordinate amount of time pushing the Stormy story, (hush money is not a crime) but a campaign finance misdemeanor, lol. No slammer for Trumpie. If Trump's vulnerable to prosecution, what in God's name are they waiting for? (maybe some evidence, lol). https://slate.com/news-and-politics/2020/11/trump-federal-tax-prosecution-statute-of-limitations.html "An attorney for Trump said Friday that any prosecution related to hush money payments to an adult film star would be “completely unprecedented” and accused the Manhattan district attorney of targeting the former president for “political reasons and personal animus.” Trump attorney Joe Tacopina said in a statement shared with CNN that the campaign finance laws in this case, which is related to seven-year-old allegations, are “murky” and that the underlying legal theories of a possible case are “untested.” “This DA and the former DA have been scouring every aspect of President Trump’s personal life and business affairs for years in search of a crime and needs to stop. This is simply not what our justice system is about,” Tacopina said." https://edition.cnn.com/2023/03/10/politics/trump-manhattan-district-attorney-charges-explainer/index.html -

How about the statute of limitations: "Except as otherwise expressly provided by law, no person shall be prosecuted, tried, or punished for any offense, not capital, unless the indictment is found or the information is instituted within five years next after such offense shall have been committed. — 18 USC 3282" Anyways, it's a misdemeanor: Legal experts say a case could be made that Trump falsified business records by logging Cohen's reimbursement for the Daniels payment as legal fees. But that's only a misdemeanor under New York law — unless prosecutors could prove he falsified records to conceal another crime. ttps://edition.cnn.com/2023/03/10/politics/trump-manhattan-district-attorney-charges-explainer/index.html -

Video's can be the best and most compelling and unbiased way to showcase, present the events of the chaos jan-6th at the capitol. It's obvious that your dislike of Tucker Carlson shapes certain behaviors and affects judgement. He was chose for a reason which I articulated in a previous submission: "FOX has an enormous primetime audience, bigger than CNN and MSNBC put together. Tucker Carlson is America's most watched TV host today, with a huge, loyal audience. Even many Democrats watch Tucker Carlson. " https://www.forbes.com/sites/markjoyella/2022/11/30/fox-news-channel-beats-cnn-and-msnbc-combined-in-november-cable-news-ratings/?sh=2e760abf2a3d It's perfect strategic reasoning on speaker McCarthy's part in the same manner E Musk released the twitter files to a few credible reporters with solid reputations for unbiased reporting, like Matt Taibbi and Bari Weiss. Now, Tucker gets his chance to to bring more transparency to the events on Jan 6th. Refer to this: "Voters overwhelmingly support releasing all videos of the January 6, 2021, riot at the U.S. Capitol, and a majority think it’s likely that government agents helped provoke the riot." https://www.rasmussenreports.com/public_content/politics/biden_administration/61_believe_feds_helped_incite_capitol_riot Have faith, and let the vids speak for themselves or simply wait for your chosen and preferred venue /platform to present them for viewing by the public. If you don't like or trust Tucker Carlson to post videos on the most watched tv show in America, then don't. You have a choice, -

McCarthy: January 6 Tapes Released To Tucker Carlson Will Be Made Public https://www.forbes.com/sites/saradorn/2023/02/28/mccarthy-january-6-tapes-released-to-tucker-carlson-will-be-made-public/?sh=242ab9ca4b66 "He also expressed plans to release the tapes to other media outlets once Fox has aired its exclusive" "After Mr. Carlson has had his way with the video, Mr. McCarthy said he planned to make the footage more widely available. His team has had internal conversations about providing the footage to other media outlets after Mr. Carlson has had his “exclusive” first airing, according to a source familiar with the deliberations who insisted on anonymity to speak about them." https://www.nytimes.com/2023/02/22/us/politics/tucker-carlson-jan-6-mccarthy.html Sounds fair to me. You agree with me? Is it fair that the J6 committee and Pelosi tried to seal the videos in the archives so no one can view them? https://news.yahoo.com/republicans-move-retain-jan-6-182230874.html -

Pure assumptions based on crystal ball projection. Why don't you wait until Tucker airs the videos on Tuesday instead of jumping to irrational conclusions. -

FOX has an enormous primetime audience, bigger than CNN and MSNBC put together. Tucker Carlson is America's most watched TV host today, with a huge, loyal audience. Even many Democrats watch Tucker Carlson. https://www.poynter.org/newsletters/2020/and-the-most-watched-cable-news-show-ever-is/ He is so respected, and so important to the current success of FOX News, that no one there will dare try to prevent him from presenting the truth about January 6. That means that everyone will eventually see it. This is a grand slam on the part of Kevin McCarthy. Even if you don't like McCarthy, FN, Tucker Carlson, etc, there is no doubt that this is a great move. -

If you are referring to Murdoch, some have called for him the be deported. Too funny, but maybe he should be. "Murdoch has harmed this country more than any other human being in my lifetime, and he should never have been given citizenship,” "“I actually think he’s crazy. But he’s malevolently crazy, and he’s a danger to the United States of America" https://www.yahoo.com/entertainment/howard-dean-rupert-murdoch-deported-tucker-carlson-danger-united-states-070336179.html -

But the great news and take-away is that video's can't lie, referring to the video's that the J6 committee tried to hide, and that now the purveyors of the debunked (by the FBI) insurrection narrative may be called out after the video's are aired during Tucker Carlson on prime time this Tuesday evening. This was a brilliant move by Speaker McCarthy to effect this transparent information submission to the American public in the interest of fairness and democracy. -

POLITICS 61% Believe Feds Helped Incite Capitol Riot Seventy percent (70%) of Republicans, as well as 57% of both Democrats and unaffiliated voters believe it is at least somewhat likely that undercover government agents helped provoke the Capitol riot. https://www.rasmussenreports.com/public_content/politics/biden_administration/61_believe_feds_helped_incite_capitol_riot Tune in to FOX News Tuesday evening, next week and when Tucker Carlson presents the J6th videos in which he has stated "...they are lying..." https://twitter.com/TuckerCarlson/status/1631762065542062080?s=20 -

I don't need evidence", refer to the links and if you disagree with my conclusion(s) or comments based on the supporting reference links, refute them, or try to if you think you are up to it, or not. Up to you, but the gaslighting is not required, and if you don't like or agree with my comments you are welcome to not read them, I couldn't care less one way or the other. At least you read them, but seem unable to add anything valuable to the conversation? -

No can do: "The committee cannot charge Mr Trump or his associates themselves, and the justice department is not obligated to follow the committee's referrals." (from the BC link u quoted) https://www.bbc.com/news/world-us-canada-64034782 The committee used the term "argued", "believes", and other loose meaningless terms to advance their nonsense and unfounded claim of insurrection which the FBI stated did not take place, here are the J6 statements (from the BBC article u quoted) which in no way amount to evidence but merely their opinions: Conspiracy to defraud the United States "The committee believes Mr Trump" Conspiracy to make a false statement "The committee claims Mr Trump and his backers' planned to submit" Insurrection "The committee argued that Mr Trump encouraged his supporters to come to Washington and cause havoc..." "believes", "claims", "argues" are not evidence, at least not in the American judicial system. So, there, again, there is NO evidence of criminality. If it was then everyone and anyone could be accused of a crime, any crime and prosecuted on he/she's say so. Sorry, it don't work like that. -

What "material" support a finding of criminality of any actions of Trump? Can you cite just one example of evidence of a crime committed by Trump concerning the 1/6 protests? -

So, you cannot present the "sizeable evidence" you claim the SC has? You sir, are spreading misinformation and making false statements. You should state up front you are expressing your own opinion rather than making false claims you cannot corroborate. How about Trumps call to Raffensperger..., and the criminality, ex culpability? Can you describe what evidence exists indicating criminality during Trump's phone call with Raffensperger? Any evidence, ANYTHING? -

Really, so can you produce the "sizeable evidence" Jack Smith has, in consideration of the fact that "almost all of the proceedings are sealed, and filings and decisions aren’t public." https://edition.cnn.com/2023/02/16/politics/secret-grand-jury-special-counsel-trump/index.html While you're at it, can you review Trumps call, in it's entirety, with Raffensperger and point out where Trump committed a crime. https://edition.cnn.com/2021/01/03/politics/trump-brad-raffensperger-phone-call-transcript/index.html I'll wait. -

Hmm, and this too. Prosecutors argued that new evidence suggested Trump was knowingly concealing secret documents at his Palm Beach, Fla., home and urged the FBI to conduct a surprise raid at the property. But two senior FBI officials who would be in charge of leading the search resisted the plan as too combative and proposed instead to seek Trump’s permission to search his property, according to the four people, who spoke on the condition of anonymity to describe a sensitive investigation. https://www.washingtonpost.com/national-security/2023/03/01/fbi-dispute-trump-mar-a-lago-raid/ -

Of course he should: Here’s your reminder that the FBI falsified documents so the FISA court would allow them to continue spying on Donald Trump on behalf of Democrats and after they got caught not a single person went to prison. The one fall guy they used is still practicing law. Bottom line: certain factions within the US intel community lied to spy and take down Trump. That has to be treason to the nTH degree. I don't think Trump or anyone in office should consider Putin to be an ally and treat him as such. But you certainly don't want to be Putin's enemy as Biden relationship has decayed with him and now Putin and Xi are getting cozy with CN stating recently they may supply weaponry to the Russians. Another reminder to you: China's navy is larger now than US's navy and Putin has the most nukes and Biden is totally cross-threaded sideways with both of them. Real good huh? Under Trump there no new wars, no major conflicts and peace was improved in the Middle East. Can't same the same about Biden's foreign policy failures and disasters. Now the two most powerful countries are putting Biden in a box and nothing good can result. Biden even said funding to Ukraine could support pensions there. https://townhall.com/tipsheet/katiepavlich/2023/02/20/americans-are-now-paying-to-fund-pensions-in-ukraine-n2619752 PS: China has called for peace talks, Russia has too, as well as Trump. Has Biden proposed peace talks? Trump is the furthest thing from a "traitor in chief", he's all in for America, it's obvious Biden doesn't have the same love of country and global respect that Trump has. -

So again, I "got nothing" but let me say this. Tucker Carlson, FOX News have the Jan 6th the videos, for all to see. I probably wouldn't care much about these J6 videos but the fact that the corporate media and democrats ran with the insurrection narrative and vehemently opposed the release of the videos due to security concerns and not in the public interest, there may be another story in the J6 video tapes, and if there is we can all get to see it after FOX news presents it. But because I "got nothing" has nothing to do with the coming storm the J6 videos may reveal, or not. But at least we get to see this J6 "nothing videos" that took a court order, GOP speaker McCarthy's action and Tucker Carlson's publication along with FOX News contribution we can now see the left's proclaimed "insurrection" or that it was a big "nothing", except for any newly revealed details hidden until Tucker got the goods. -

What exactly "got nothing", what exactly is your message? What is "nothing", this is a discussion that for some reason triggers such a telling defensive posture in your retorts. Wait and see, there is nothing today, but maybe tomorrow, Trump, nah, Biden, we'll see. And, let the J6 video's set the record straight. There may be some bombshell developments, maybe the FBI will chime in. Don't be so impatient. You know it's got to be juicy, embarrassing, incriminating, etc when pelsoi, and all J6'ers tried to bury and seal the videos in the archives for the next 50 years. You are in favor of or in fear of transparency, truth? The videos could bring clarity into the events of Jan 6th and especially to the DNS bomb planter who has managed somehow to elude the FBI since Jan 2021. Get your popcorn, it could be an eye opener, so much that CBS News, CNN, Politico, ProPublica ABC, Axios, Advance, Scripps, the Los Angeles Times, and Gannett all signed a letter sent to congressional leadership demanding access to the same video material released to Tucker Carlson at FOX news. https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/us/media-organizations-demand-jan-6-videos-mccarthy-shared-with-fox-news/ar-AA17TYTq In the interest of fairness and transparency speaker McCarthy did say this: 'The House speaker said in a Wednesday interview with The New York Times that he expects to make the footage more widely available after Carlson uses the material." -

Exactly, there is potential of serious criminal involvement of the Biden clan, enough to warrant an investigation and reference to same by the Times. No such investigations of the Trump family be a "threat to national security", unless I missed it? “We’re not investigating Hunter Biden for political reasons,” Comer says. “We’re investigating Hunter Biden because we believe he’s a national security threat, who we fear has compromised Joe Biden.” He adds, “The Hunter Biden investigation is slowly becoming the Joe Biden investigation.” https://time.com/6218879/hunter-biden-investigations-james-comer-house-republicans/ -

You are right again, they got nothing on Trump, zero, nada. And that's tough for the opposition to swallow every day and who's lives are controlled, consumed by seeing Trump is prosecuted. Now you can look forward with much anticipation, when Tucker Carlson and FOX news dump the recently released Jan 6 videos which will show "insurrection" perhaps, NOPE, it would have been leaked by now. The FOX news video release could very well be another HUGE win for Trump and a major blow to the narrative pushed by the J6 presentation committee.
