anyone else get the feeling when hanging out with thais that they are constantly watching us to see if we do anything that is considered a cultural faux pas?

I get that feeling regularly, especially when socializing with thai males, its like they are waiting for us to slip up and make a scene so that they have something to gossip about with their buddies.

Anyone else get the feeling they are always watching you?

    Paranoid much?

    I don't understand.

I got the EUROS sent to the account a couple of hours ago and just took some out.

Maybe you mean move from my EURO account to my Thai Baht account on Wise?

Sorry, I mean, send funds to Wise. When it gets there make your transfer. For some reason doing it that way saves on the fees compared to initiating a transfer on Wise then sending funds to Wise.

I have accounts in those other 2 banks, I might use them, thanks.

I'm sure I only spent about $3 making a transaction of a similar amount before.

You might be able to reduce that fee a bit. You just send Euros to wise first. Then make your transfer once the funds reach Wise. I do that GBP and save on the transfer fee. Doing it that way it counts as funds in/on account. So you should get a cheaper fee for funds in/on account.

    Normal. Other charge more probably.

Change banks. Bangkok Bank or Kasikorn Bank, or SCB. Then you can send from 1.5 to 2 million baht in one go.

As already mentioned the exchange rate you get from Wise is far better than what you will get from Other banks or exchanges. So the 9 Euro fee is fair when all is done and considered. Just compare the rate from who ever you think is cheaper!

so cant add to thb balance in wise. So i try to add 1000 eur or 1000usd.

I thought it would just be like an international debit card payment. I dont have problems buying things from international websites checking out in USD using my kbank debit card.

I guess they put an actual block on Wise so people cant send money out of Thailand

Perhaps some of the other Thai banks would allow it?

Wise can't get a license to operate in Thailand. And why they work with the 3 Thai banks, Bangkok Bank, SCB and Kasikorn. As I said use Deemoney. The only other way to do it would be to buy the Euro's from the bank and wire it to Wise. Which makes no sense.

Are you saying that you're willing to pay up to 35% personal income tax on all crypto payments/transfers you do?

Do you have a link? Because from what I read the tax is around 15% for crypto. I suggest you are totally wrong!

Ironically, that is what Jingthing did. I'm guessing that you clicked on this the same way most of us did... on the right hand side under topics?

Scroll up to the top of the page and you'll see that Jingthing posted in 'gay people in Thailand'. You should see it just above the heading.

my bad. Maybe as with the women's forum it should be a private forum. Just an idea.

  8. You also need to take into account the slope of the roof using roof tiles, minimum angle is 17 degrees. Maximum 40 degrees.  A metal roof only needs about 5 degrees. Those tiles weigh about 4 kg each so you would need a very strong frame to support the roof. A metal structure would be better than wood imo.

I agree with others, not a scam.

The OP can ensure he pays the right tax by requesting a self assessment.

Nobody owes him the duty to make sure his taxes are right, that’s something he and all tax payers must do for themselves.

They should all use an accountant to do their tax returns. The cost is tax deductible. And for some would have saved them thousands of which they may not be able to reclaim once over the 4-5 year back dated period.

That strange if you owned them money they find your records going back since you were born, don't let them BS you and threat to sue them.

That won't work. HMRC only goes back 4-5 years in regards to getting a refund on over paid taxes. However HMRC can pursue you for unpaid taxes up to 7 years back dated.

As has been repeatedly explained and repeatedly ignored by Trump supportes, it would have to be proven that Biden willfully violated the law. A difficult thing to prove. Where'as in Trump's case, even though he was asked by the National Archives to return the documents immediately, as specified by the law, he refused. The National Archive would have been well with its right to call on the Justice Dept at that juncture. Instead, though, they negotiated for months with Trump. When the documents were finally returned, Trump's attorney attested that all the documents were returned. It was only when the National Archives received informatio that this was a lie and that Trump had actually retained possession of classified documents, that they called in the Justice Dept. Does that clear things up for you?

Not really.  Biden had these documents as VP. VP's aren't entitled to hold classified documents.
