Thailand's sex workers hope election will change their lives
TimeMachine replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
I would agree if the tax collection money went back into society. Has anybody ever sat down and calculated how much VAT tax money is collected each day from big c, 7 eleven etc shopping centres across the country. A staggering amount of money goes somewhere. -
Anyone have any experience with Redmi phones?
TimeMachine replied to Kenny202's topic in Mobile Devices and Apps
Poco F5. Has NFC which a lot of Chinese phones dont. Important if you want to use your phone as a credit card or entry card. Has IR blaster AMOLED screen. I've used Poco before. Its best bang for buck and feature packed with decent quality. Pretty much Xiaomi Redmi realme Poco all by same company. -

Thai Expert Explains High Electricity Bills in Thailand
TimeMachine replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
Unfortunately when the topic of power is discussed the main hidden focus is how it can still be monitised by the powers that be. A homeowner can install solar panels on their roof with a simple inverter without even considering the battery issues. It is not difficult but you do need a bit of skill in choosing price reduced and reliable equipment. Free power with payback period of a few years. This situation is not being followed because of the fightback from power companies. They would rather everyone be miserable. So production and distribution of solar panels is stifled while negativity about green energy is pushed. -
Thaksin Shinawatra's imminent homecoming: A risky move for Pheu Thai
TimeMachine replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
I did not know that. Thanks. I found visas were super easy as far as non o 1 year tourist goes during thaksin times. Overall though, the current lot could put the amount back down but haven't. We can say they are bad as each other. Surely not. All politicians bad. No no no -

The one I got can use the grids power at night by using a mixer board, basically just rectifies the ac to DC and joins to the DC of the solar panels . Grid tied needs to be described further as something that joins and uses grids power at night or ones that actually can feed back into the grid. Mine and the video posted are the former. -
Thaksin Shinawatra's imminent homecoming: A risky move for Pheu Thai
TimeMachine replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
When Thaksin was here in Thailand I didn't have a problem with him because I didn't have anything that affected me in a bad way. Even if misappropriation took place, it didn't matter, it doesn't matter. It will always happen whoever is in. And now more than ever we are more affected by individual people behind desks in organisations doing a bad job. The chance of a leader fixing that is none. Nothing really matters. Keep healthy all.- 122 replies

You all may be thinking Tigers due for a win today. But being due doesn't cut it in the AFL world. Ask yourself, what changed? Why? The Tigers used to win. And that's for one simple reason. Trent Cotchin was Captain. When that changed all things shot down crappily. And today Trent having a rest. West Coast by 4 goals. Damn.

Thai Expert Explains High Electricity Bills in Thailand

Getting onto Google maps satellite View shows that Bangkok is lacking in using solar. Compared to my home town in oz where in maps you can actually see the black panels are on the roofs of every 10th house on average. -

An article in a newspaper is one thing. Seeing solar panels on houses across the country is another. I don't think solar power to the masses will be allowed for the masses anytime soon. The products are not plentiful and are overpriced. -

A tip for those who have a house with rooftop space to put solar panels. No need to pay hundreds of thousands of baht to company for setup. You can get 360v worth of solar panels and easily modify your SMPS appliances such as TV, inverter type microwaves, air cons, to run directly off the 360v DC . No need for an expensive inverter. If you choose panels that can deliver 8 amps that will give you around 2kw. There is a cheap 220v inverter available that runs off the 360vdc if you don't want to bother modifying appliances or if you have non inverter smps p/s equipment. Medium electronics knowledge is required but as usual, YouTube shows the way. Night time is the problem still and there is no way around that but to buy a battery system. Sorry. -
Yeah fair comment but at the same time people do have to stand up to their rights from the beginning, because it may just escalate. Double pricing pool one day, farang slaves working in the rice field for a dollar the next

Actually. Think I'm just gonna go the basic route. No battery system. Free power while sun is shining. Us a basic inverter that requires 340ish DC that converts to 240ac. Cheap boards cost about 3000 baht for 5kw. Probably give a good 15 amp continuous. A few YouTube vids but in Thai about it. -

Not sure why there is not more investment in solar. Perhaps the oil and coal companies are threatening them with whatever or paying them off to stop productions. Quick question, why can't I find a cheap solar charge controller that handles a series string of panels to about 500v. It seems it's only available in the hybrid inverters to do this. The ones all over AliExpress have a max pv input off around 50v so you would need to wire everything in parallel which means thick wires , more panel protection , less efficiency. -

I've had before where customs simply seizes the item and won't release it until you travel to the main office and pay tax. Unless there is specific agreement that Lazada products will be let through I think it is possible for bigger more expensive items it will be stopped by customs for anything that comes outside of Thailand. Until now I've only ordered products less than a few thousand baht on Lazada. I'm still waiting on reply from powmr seller. sometimes I wonder why people start up businesses when they don't want to do business at all. -

In Thailand, it does not make economic sense to go through a company for the install. The pay back period is too long for what they are asking. I recommend you gain some friends that have some knowledge on how to purchase the individual items and install. It's not that much harder than putting together Ikea furniture if you grasp electronics well. -

Same inverter but different store. I had asked the store you linked if item was already in Thailand but they didn't answer that question. I've asked them again. Thanks -

Agree. I liked the spec of the pow Mr. Says it can work without batteries. And I'd just add free used car batteries into it as I gathered them. It's real easy to get ripped off in the Industry though. You gotta have ya smarts. I am prepared to leave it if I don't get the fair pricing on stuff. -

I ordered at around 12 and now around 14. Also not sure if shipped from outside of Thailand will be asked to pay duty tax. Not really prepared to go higher monies for what it is. I'd like to stick to a pay off period. Finances do matter. That's why we do solar , right? Haha not because we give a hoot about the planet. Keep it simple .keep it happy chaps and chicks. -

Ordered 5kw powmr inverter off Lazada , but order got cancelled. Prices gone up. I'm thinking better off just setting up a few of those small AliExpress over exaggerated inverters. Will work out cheaper and if one inverter dies I won't lose power to everything. The best I've found though is real values ending up being about 1kw which isn't enough for small ac or microwave. Need to get probably closer to real 2000jw continuous . Any recommendations? Also the issue with that way is a charge controller that can handle 500v(series panels) input like the all in one expensive inverters. -

Seems like nothing available at the moment. Looking like I'll have to put my lab coat on and develop some new tech to make my own solar panels. And when I succeed I will share with the world and save the people from this harmful energy dilemma. Power to the people! will be my slogan.
