I've ended up setting up a 10*380 watt panel into a basic hivolt inverter to mainly run ac during the day. No batteries. There is so much to consider when choosing what's good for you and your lifestyle. Many questions need answering. It helps to have technical knowledge to decide rather than rely on a profiteering company. But used lead acid would be my choice on a small system. I wouldn't consider a large reliable battery system in Thailand. Just better off paying high bills rather than a big payback period.

You need to donate your body to science so we can try and understand why some lucky few are like that. It seems your body can sense that evil weed wheat and dispense of it effectively. Are you allergic to or have any adverse affects to any kinds of foods? Btw to stay on topic. I use a bullet type blender 1000w. As long as you go high in wattage you are good.

Of course using a knackered car battery won't work. A battery tester can let you know it's health including if it can supply the high current demand. The option is too easily dismissed. Healthy normal batteries stacked in parallel can work fine. Again, it's a matter of economics. How much is a 100ah deep cycle battery compared to a tested healthy car battery. Especially if you have access to free batteries. A car mechanic will replace a battery because it can't supply the high cranking amps to start a car yet it will be fine to run lighting and a fan and tv. Sure it wont last as long. I still say give them consideration if the math works out. Not for everyone and every situation but for most diy on a budget it is a valid option. Wether you try or not is up to each individual I guess. I do agree that if you are paying full retail for car batteries for solar that is bad.

I'm wondering why you need all that steel to raise the solar panels. Couldn't you have used 4 x L brackets of the appropriate dimensions for each panel? I recommend trying cheap used car batteries rather than buying expensive deep cycle. After doing the math and even knowing deep cycle are better for being run down low it is an option that I think a lot don't consider.

I'm off to Udon on Friday. First order of business, check out the price of solar panels. And by solar panels I mean ladies.

Kiwi locked up in Thailand with no clothes, food or water

I'm more concerned for people that haven't done drugs but have been falsely accused. Not that this particular case seems like that. I have been close to a person that was falsely accused of sex offenses. Luckily for him he had a good Thai lawyer that gathered enough evidence to make the police giveup on their show. Lawyer cost a ton though. His embassy offered nothing. -

A TV show has shown Australian Embassy helping Australians held by police. But I feel embassies don't do enough and probably do ignore most situations. From my experience Embassies are for renewing a passport and Australians needing other support are best advised to start up their own citizen embassies aside from the useless government setup ones. -

I'm wondering if the New Zealand Embassy cares enough to ask for his prescription drugs to be given to him and clothes at the very least. Do they torture prisoners in New Zealand? Australia, most probably. One man's police force is another man's cartel. -

It's an odd world. In Australia we offer safe injecting rooms for heroin users. In Thailand, not so. -

Thaksin probably enriched himself which could be seen as a bad thing and even strictly illegal if laws were even followed in today's world. But I found immigration was more welcoming to falang before with Thaksin. Visas were for longer periods and less hassle in my situation. Maybe not everybody's. I hear more positive things about Thakky but I'm not deeply routed in Thai politics. I would much prefer the Young chap Thanatorn to be given a chance. -
Either way. There are those on both sides and see things differently. I myself am on the fence simply because I don't know the truths of what has really happened behind closed doors but am open enough to take in the facts. One fact, killing is happening. It is terrible that killing occurs and it should stop. But humans innately are designed to kill. All the emotions are there for it. Anger , vengeance, greed, etc and yes sometimes just psychotic or demented behaviour.

I think back to when the Cuban missile crisis existed and Russia was provoking America. America, rightly so ,protected their region and thankfully Russia pulled back. Did no provocation come from Biden's administration ? Has Russia started this 'protecting it's region' for no reason? Surely you can't believe Biden is in no way involved in provoking the region.

Electric issues in farmhouse. Service cable isolation

Wouldn't worry too much about earthing if you install Residual Breakers. If someone touches a live chassis they will be saved by Residual breaker. Ideally, good to have earthing but a hassle if house was wired without it from start. I use the non contact voltage check on my multimeter to check for live wires. AliExpress sell them cheap enough to warrant buying one right now.
