I am not a big fan of crass materialism ie people buying things to show that they are wealthier than others. I have a small handmade laptop stand from India. The wood is beautiful. It's unpretentious. And it supported a small handicraft person in India. Rolex watch = crass materialism. I would never buy sth like that.

Or do you appreciate that there is diversity in clothing and do you appreciate it when you see a woman who is clothed beautifully? Beauty is one of the things that makes the world less miserable. Imagine everyone had ugly clothes on all the time. Human beings, for one thing, are attracted to beauty. We are tactile creatures with 5 senses, touch and smell and sight. If everything smelled bad, that would suck. If everything was ugly, that would suck. And clothing is one example. And beauty is one reason why material possessions are not bull<deleted>.

Yeah, that's a good point. It's 2 different lifestyles. Not one is better or worse than the other. Both lifestyles have pros and cons. If people on both sides are honest, they could make a long list of pros and cons of both lifestyles.

people complain thai bureaucracy is bad. it takes months and months, if not 1-2 years to get an appointment at the consulate with these idiots

legal contract is needed to protect the woman in case the man knocks her up and leaves. you may not be planning to have a family, but it could happen by accident. she needs to be with someone she can fully trust if there is no contract as she is taking a risk.
