    that's why i tend to avoid groups or societies of any kind. i even try to avoid get-togethers with siblings because everyone's always pulling rank and playing politics. I can't imagine how bad those groups are.

    I was also indoctrinated and it goes way back. Sometimes people need to break free from traditions. uneducated population ... those who choose to remain uneducated. everyone has a computer in their pocket these days.

    what are the motivations for people joining these groups? according to conspiracy guys, many high-level politicians are high-level (33rd degree) freemasons. the only direct experience i've had is a filipino guy back home who joined. i think his motivation was to have power over other people. that didn't seem to work out too well for him as he was trapped in a lowly job.

    not sure what you're talking about. the whole planet is designed around free will. that's why people have asked in this thread "how can god exist if there is so much evil in the world"? and the answer is because human beings have been given free will to act out in negative ways if they choose.
