  1. I don't know much about condo investing. But I did a bit of research. One real estate guy claims some areas of Bangkok, Chiang Mai, and Hua Hin are the best places to invest in a condo. But he could be a huckster and maybe OneMoreFarang's advice is spot on.
  2. so you dont do-see-do, do you?
  3. you need a thai partner to do business in thailand. foreigners cannot own a business 100%.
  4. well, just found an example of superstition. serpentza and laowhy86 are talking about the major flooding that took place in Beijing. and then they connect it to superstition: "The biggest floods in China in over 100 years. Is this a sign that the CCP's reign is coming to an end?" And then they quote a philosopher from 300 BC: ... floods and droughts come by the agency of heaven , then the altars should be replaced. Then serpentza says CCP wiped out religion, but not superstition. Let's see if the the CCP's reign does come to an end soon. Let's hope it does.
  5. there are always some potential risks with pharmaceuticals. some dogs died from licking some medicine in the form of creams off their owner's bodies. i just put on a bit of weight, but will try to get it back down the old-fashioned way. blood, sweat, and tears.
  6. I just looked at my coconut water container label. It has 35mg of Calcium per 375 ml. Never even realized coconut water had calcium. I knew it had Magnesium and Potassium. So it might be worth it to consider adding coconut water to diet in addition to dairy for calcium requirements.
  7. never seen those stats, but doesnt surprise me. our ancestors were hunter-gatherers who did a lot of walking. so golfing might be one of the healthiest sports. plus being around greenery must be very relaxing and soothing. never played, but i may take it up one day.
  8. what percentage of "normal" girls in the west turned some tricks on OnlyFans during the pandemic to help pay the bills? 20% maybe? 20% of guys in the west will marry a girl who did a stint on Only Fans and not even know.
  9. one thing to consider is the possibility of self-driving tuk tuks in 10 years, no more need for drivers. china already testing autonomous mini bus. but maybe thailand will not advance as quickly as other countries? do it now! don't wait until retirement. do it on weekends.
  10. great idea. you will enjoy it too. go for it.
  11. 5K USD per night? the thai ladies will enjoy picking your pockets.
  12. so everyone associates superstition with religion? wow. ok, lock this thread up then.
  13. some folks have drone footage. a drone will set you back another grand or two. plus the learning curve. depends what kind of channel you want to have and how much actual professional-looking footage you want to get. and how polished, etc... this chick is from latvia youtubing from phuket. she prefers just pointing the camera and mostly talks, so you don't need fancy equipment. this is pretty funny. LBH = losers back home
  14. I prefer John Prine to that hard fast dissonant guitar that does my head in. Only wish I had heard of John Prine sooner. They only played the head-banging stuff on the radio.
  15. I don't like Santana. Never got into Jimi Hendrix either. But thanks.
  16. the fluffy thing is for wind. if you're filming outside, you need to block the wind or your audio will really suck.
  17. No mention of GOD or religion in this thread please. We already have 2 threads on that topic on this forum. Thank you!
  18. when someone goes on stage, they say "break a leg" ... that comes from an old supersition. so it's not just Thailand that has superstitions. The West used to have ...
  19. I just looked up some superstitions. https://europeisnotdead.com/european-superstitions/#:~:text=In Europe%2C we all share, clover or the number 7. The UK (had) superstitions: It is also said that it brings luck if you cut your hair when the moon is waxing.
  20. I've noticed a lot of derogatory comments about Thais on these forums regarding their beliefs in superstitions and fortune-telling. But it's not just Thailand. 1 - Regarding fortune-telling, it has exploded in the West in recent years, There must be 10,000 Tarot readers on Youtube 2 - Regarding superstitions, the old generations from Europe had some superstitions. I can't remember off the top of my head, but my grandmother used to rattle some off. I will look it up online. No one remembers a grandmother with superstitions? It's not just Thailand. It seems to be it existed in western cultures, but then it was lost and dismissed as rubbish. But is it because people became more educated? Possibly, but that conflicts with the rise in popularity in Tarot in the West ... is Tarot also a sign of a lesser education? If the West is so much more "educated" than Thailand, why are superstitions seen as silly but yet Tarot is getting more popular? No one had a grandmother with superstitions? Were they all silly?
