    you've highlighted the 2 biggest problems with the stock market. 1 - the stock prices are not directly related to company performance, so cannot be predicted. no one can predict stocks. 2 - the stock market is like a casino. when stocks go high fast, the casino knows people will get greedy and not pull out on time. then the dealer pulls the rug, so dealer usually wins.

    the specific country is maybe not the main issue. but rather that there is a strange inexplicable mysterious phenomenon that a certain percentage of people don't feel comfortable in their home countries.

    I met a 97 year old woman who claimed she made a lot of money in the stock market and ONLY invested in bank stocks. Not saying it's valid investment advice. But just sharing anyway.

    I just meant that the term may be creating unrealistic expectations. Hence posters who claim Thailand is boring so they want to move on. Most people's lives are not that exciting unless you're james bond. Cheers.

    where does that phrase come from? the marketing dept of international living magazine? maybe just living a comfortable decent life with your basic needs met in a decent country with warm climate is good enough for most people. and maybe people need to stop using that phrase.

    the bars are open air, there's a certain vibe there, some people actually enjoy drinking and talking with the girls. its not just the sex.

    i don't know ... gamma is posting all these music videos ... it almost seems like associating yourself to the songwriters. music is in all countries as it is low-cost. but the film industry is different. the US definitely has the most impressive film industry in the world. it basically boils down to $$.
