  1. there's a joke by comedian stephen wright. everywhere is walking distance if you have the time. do you have the time to fact-check everything? also ... do you believe in 'intuition' ?
  2. they're all different. you need to understand the one you're with. i've dated some emotionally challenging / crazy women. maybe i got in over my head since i myself was psychologically messed up. but i think it was Louis K or whatever his name is ... that comedian that joked that we should take on crazy women because no one else will take them on.
  3. i haven't read buddhism in many many years, but i remember getting some useful practical information from it. what you're quoting seems like abstract useless nonsense. managing our material lives is important. it's not nothingness or emptiness or illusory.
  4. I was raised in the catholic church, but let me tell you man I got out of there at a fairly young age. We actually had one priest come in once and had us repeat loudly repeatedly "we are stinkers!" It was quite comical. The bible is not complete bs. Depends how you make use of it. 'Garden of Eden' can represent peace of mind. 'Snake in the grass' can represent any number of things which disrupt our peace of mind. For me, the daily news which is full of negativity is one such snake in the grass that saps my peace of mind. In fact, the news outlets are doing it on purpose. They bombard us with negativity. We were warned in the bible about snakes in the grass. And I try to stay away from those threads on this forum. But those threads are constantly full of replies and no one wants those to be shut down. Was Jesus a fictional character? I'm not even sure. Maybe he was. But some of his quotes might still be useful.
  5. it's quite an interesting phenomenon taking place here. the thread seems to be seriously bothering some people. your analysis is probably not far off the mark.
  6. I'm not a big fan of pot, but I don't go into the pot threads and ask them to shut it down. Why does it bother you so much that the thread should continue?
  7. yeah, i think they may be making an unrealistic sales pitch about what that river can actually do for you.
  8. fruit is not the same as processed sugar. ideally, learn to make your own cookies - coconut flour - erythritrol or monk fruit - baking soda - eggs - butter - sugar free chocolate chips
  9. A guy was filming his trip to Ganges on Youtube and a fight broke out. So was kind of funny.
  10. jordan peterson's definition of God: the voice that calls you .. the spirit of conscience that calls you on your malfeasance
  11. you don't like farangs?
  12. Had a dreamIt was warAnd they couldn't tell me what it was forBut it was something they could lie aboutSomething we could die about
  13. with all the police bashing ... remember ... they risk their lives. R.I.P.
  14. just thought of something. maybe some places on earth have a more 'spiritual vibe' based on their geographical location. a lot of spiritual types flock to sedona, arizona for instance. sedona has 'vortexes' ie 'swirling centers of subtle energy'. maybe places like tibet and parts of india too are infused with some whiff of spirituality in the air? never been to any of these places. but thanks neeranam. your posts inspired me to make a trek out to india.
  15. so the kids noticed it, but this person who was a grown man didn't even after 10 years. some people need to grow (the hard way) through relationships. school of hard knocks.
  16. what difference does it make if it's 1 or a consortium? a flock of gods.
  17. because people are holier than thou and like to pass judgement. these women grew up financially disadvantaged. they're just women. you don't need to put a label on them.
  18. maybe you can marry an inflatable doll. they don't have PTSD. emotional complexity of the woman can actually make the relationship more interesting. i'll take on the PTSD. i can work with that.
  19. does anybody remember The Avengers? When those things come through a portal in the sky? what is CERN in Geneva? are they creating "the God particle" which is attempting to split the veil between the supernatural and natural realm? possibly opening a supernatural portal to the underworld?
  20. If you must use a chair at work, then there's nothing you can do about it. If you work from home at least part of the time: Get rid of your office chair in the home. Sit on a big comfortable cushion on the ground and lean up against another cushion on the wall. This will never cause back pain. You can sit in a lotus position if you're flexible. And you can move around in different positions. 100 times more comfortable than a chair. I've said this on many threads and have been mostly ignored. One of the many benefits of walking daily is it will eliminate lower back pain.
  21. yeah, strange thread. 529 pages in, people are still asking wet-behind-the-ears questions.
  22. awesome ... used to love playing scrabble. nice break from all those crime stories.
