  1. it's subjective anyway. but he keeps bringing up his "gf with a uni degree" in multiple threads. i bet you any money it's completely fabricated.
  2. This is nonsense and I don't care where you read it.
  3. I hate meditation. I would rather play guitar. A lot of what passes as Buddhism has practical and useful advice. A lot of what passes as Buddhism is meaningless abstract and useless garbage.
  4. sorry, perhaps I was too judgmental. if you can post quasi nonsense or whatever every day and still function in society, then go for it. to your credit, the thread actually generated some interesting responses.
  5. This guy actually made an animated film about a bargirl scamming 2 guys simultaneously - a Brit and an American. One guy buys her a house while the other guy buys her a bar. Based on a personal experience, one can assume?
  6. Try asking Adumbration. He's up on all this stuff.
  7. Sorry, you've had me fooled a few times because you can say some things which are intelligent at times. But then it often degenerates. I'm not trying to insult you. I am genuinely concerned about you. If I were you, I would consider going back to your home country for a while and take a break from Thailand and maybe consult a mental health expert. Good luck and take care.
  8. Going to bars can be fun for sure. There's a point of excess though. Some people in Berlin drop dead at those all night raves. Maybe it's not as bad in Thailand.
  9. In my opinion, he probably has mental health issues. This is sad. Edit: Get back to your home country and go see a counsellor. Get some help, OP.
  10. alcohol and the forum are the only things that barely make bob's life tolerable.
  11. so maybe people need to be more afraid of how they live their life than actual death itself.
  12. there's no such thing as trying to quantify the friendliness of an entire country. it's about as abstract as the meaning of life. thailand is neither friendly nor unfriendly. it's impossible to quantify and meaningless to speculate. this is not what is causing people to feel miserable in thailand. you may perceive people to be generally unfriendly if you yourself are already miserable perhaps. or, if you are miserable, maybe it makes little difference if people around you are friendly. as the friendliness of others is perhaps not the most important thing one needs to be content in life.
  13. friendly country index = mostly useless mainstream media nonsense how do you define friendly? everyone walking around smiling? even if everyone around you was constantly smiling, if you're miserable it won't help much. this may be too deep for most people, but the problem is an existential one. the clue is to be found in bignok's "what is the meaning of life?" thread. most people have little meaning in their life. if you work to bring more meaning into your life, you will be more content. go teach chess to kids or sth. of course if you're sitting around doing nothing you will be miserable.
  14. not sure I would call it stupidity ... some people just have the capacity to enjoy life more than others. if you put 2 people in the same situation, one will enjoy themselves more it has nothing to do with thailand
  15. but its not a deal-breaker
  16. Only talk to people on Aseannow. No one here knows where you live.
  17. I have ADD, so I didn't read everything. The sauces in the fridge caught my attention as a non-important issue.
  18. not sure. maybe they had an arrangement where she is meant to be cooking his food. he's czech?
  19. her not taking care of her health I get is frustrating. eating together as a family ... i get that might be important for some very traditional people. although it really isn't necessary all the time. but so what if the fridge is filled with her sauces? that sounds silly. and the tablet thing i don't agree with -- every kid has a tablet these days. you are going against modern culture and trends by denying the kid a tablet. you can install some interesting apps and games on there. some games are mentally stimulating for kids.
  20. you are only going to these parties to get laid, right? if you can't pick up a girl by 3 am, then you need to just give up and call it a night. don't blame the authorities for your lack of game. and on a serious note, a lot of kids need to take speed to stay up all night. and they probably mix speed with copious amounts of alcohol. do they mix well? drugs is one thing, but mixing drugs that shouldn't be mixed is another thing.
  21. 9 pm to 4 am gives you 7 consecutive hours to party. how much more do you need? why do you need to stay up all night? are you a vampire?
  22. that's the silliest excuse for wanting to leave thailand ever maybe. they're hustling. people need to struggle to survive. not everyone is retired. what else? the waitresses are rude? you're taking the wrong attitude, man. maybe you can show some empathy for their struggles.
  23. I think constantly monitoring your blood pressure will make your blood pressure go up.
  24. Yes, move to Hawaii. Where the people are friendlier and everything is 15 times more expensive. And take Celsius with you. And then he can change his name to Fahrenheit.
