  1. do you really have the time to travel across the city to save a few baht?
  2. Very sad and tragic to see an elderly woman being killed. Not to blame the victim, but realistically should elderly people be walking around with gold?
  3. Well, beef / lamb / salmon are exorbitantly priced and most people cannot afford to feed their families, if they even understood it's nutritional value. There's way too many people on the planet, hence the bugs. Hopefully, AI will come up with lab meats that taste as good as real meat and is just as healthy, otherwise we may be headed down a path where bugs are the only source of protein available. Meat has been banned before in some countries throughout history. It could happen again.

  9. Online is different than real life. And in some ways, arguably better.
  10. most people are more trouble than they're worth. people cannot be trusted. the most intelligent people have youtube channels / blogs. you can get stimulating conversation . most people you meet are not that interesting, and they can become a problem. a couple of friends i've had have tried to steal my gf. you mostly just need some female company.
  11. That is so snobbish and a complete farce. Any wine goes with anything. People drink Coca-Cola and beer with just about any meal, so why should wine be any different? The wine snobbery is one thing that gets on my nerves. The "matching nonsense" and the ridiculously over-priced bottles out there. Sorry.
  12. In real life, what is the quality of the interactions people are having? What are people mostly talking about in bars? Or wherever you meet? If the interactions are positive, fine. It has to be like-minded people who will not waste your time AND people who actually wish you well and are not envious when you talk too much about yourself. And like-minded people that you can actually trust are few and far between. Sometimes the best interactions are just talking to a stranger once. You might meet a guy at a breakfast place and he might start to tell you about some things he's experienced in his life, started a business here, lived there, etc. That might be interesting. Some people have interesting life stories. But it doesn't mean you want to meet up with them every week. I met one guy who approached me and he told me about how he got scammed by a Filipina girl when he was living there. He got her a green card and she screwed him over. Then he invited me to a pub with a bunch of his friends and I took a pass. I will not just meet up with a bunch of strangers in pubs and start yapping about myself. Too much likelihood of shady characters being present.
  13. Is a hermit an insult? Is it that bad for someone to be a hermit? They're not bothering anyone.
  14. Thats too deep for my simple mind, man.
