Tricky question if it's legal or not. I drove through many checkpoints in Pattaya last year, never stopped. If worried, traffic highway police in the area, would be the one to ask.

Lucky you who understood op. Non-thais?? Europeans? Russians? African? Americans? Caucasians in general term? Working girls?? As in probably working a normal job, or suspected prostitutes?? (Yes we're allowed to write that) Confusing for all us dummies

Interesting topic for many expats, who had enough of the horrible traffic in Pattaya, and wish to stay in a quieter area. How about condos and apartments for rent? Any advice?

Way better than 20 years sentence, reduced to 15 for good behavior, or maybe pardoned. The victim suffered extreme pain, before her death. Why should the offender and murderer get any less? This is a extreme case, and in those cases, a eye for a eye, is justified. This P.O.S have obvious mental issues, no limitations when harming others, and might have a history of violence in the past. Society are better without him. Not a way to live, agree, but extreme criminals deserve extreme punishment. Ask victims parents, children, siblings.

The brakes was acceptable only the first month. After that semi monthly adjustment was needed. Defensive driving is a must, even top speed at best is only 40 km. I sold mine after 4 months only. Wouldn't buy any of these cheapest models again.

Shop mak replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
Clickbait of the day? The controversial grumpy old men, a thing of the past, isn't it? Have many expat friends here, age 50-70+. All are happy about their life here, no moaning all day long. Wqrm climate, beautiful ladies half their age, cheap condos to buy or rent, cheap electric, delicious thai food, and the list goes on. Life is what one make it to be, all about attitude. It helps to compare with the life of the guys back home. -

Well he got 50,000, in a settlement reported just now. Must admit it's more than I expected. -
2 slaps give 50,000? Jeez! Can slap me for an hour then with handcufs. Actually nice to see a foreigner coming out as a winner.

Ex-girlfriend tries to steal 10 motorcycles
Shop mak replied to Alexzweiner's topic in ASEAN NOW Community Pub
Agree, if he don't hand over the remaining bikes asap, she has a strong case she can present to Police, and if she's really angry at him, she also goes to Immigration. OP is silent, maybe he grasp his huge and costly mistake 250k-700k? All could easily been avoided had OP asked on this forum earlier: I and my thai gf of ? months want to start a motorcycle rental business. How should I go forward to avoid any problems? -

Tourist Takes Action For Being Slapped, Handcuffed By Pub Guard
Shop mak replied to webfact's topic in Bangkok News
Mr. Carhuff could had met the owner already, and received a unknown amount. What's the point with prosecution of the owner and the guard? Owner was early very apologetic, closed the Pub for few days, fired the security man who is now famous for all the wrong reasons. Strongly doubt Mr. Carhuff will get any big Payday, bringing this to Court.- 90 replies

Registration not required in Pattaya. No insurance required. Must wear a helmet! Don't buy online. Quality is horrible. No service repair center. Seller might have few/no spare parts, my seller didn't, and zero service after I bought mine. Find the nearest seller with a shop in your area, expect to pay 3-5 k more, but seller likely have spare parts, and longer guarantee. Motorcycle repair shops don't have any parts, not even tube or tyres in this tiny size! Note: the low seat height, most lack adjustment, or just a few cm. Not comfortable for anything than in your area. Batteries lasted only 4 months on mine. Replace all 4 batteries was 2,500+ so I sold mine (another brand). Had enough of bolts and screw fall off, rattling noise, soi dogs like to attack this silent vehicle that scares them. Full battery max speed 40 km/h 75% battery max 35 km/h. 50% battery less than 30 km/h. Fully loaded batteries last 40-50km. Charge from 0-100% drain less than 1 unit of electricity, but takes all night. You need electric outlet where you parking, few models are easy to remove all batteries, these models have batteries inside the seat. Be aware: fire hazard, many reports in the news. Don't drive even in smallest pool of water, battery are in 'the floor' of the bike, just centimeters above ground. Checklist: 'Build quality' Seat height adjustment. Easy removable battery. Service center in your area. Spare parts. Warranty more than 3 months. You get what you pay for, don't expect build quality at all. Better quality models sells for 40,000 - 200,000+ baht. Edit: my bike looked same the one you consider, just another brand.

Ex-girlfriend tries to steal 10 motorcycles
Shop mak replied to Alexzweiner's topic in ASEAN NOW Community Pub
Bikes in her name. You practically lost all bikes already. Nothing you can do then. Unless you have a loan agreement with her, which I guess you don't. Edit: it isn't theft when they are registered in her name.- 74 replies

You meaning Centara Avenue Residence, Buakhao 15 ? Centara Azure hotel in front of condos. Many guest at pool now and then block access for residents. 1 elevator only in building, out of service at least 1 day per month. Quiet at night. Easy going management. Never Grand Avenue Residence across the road, 2 elevators per building, nearly 800 units, can often be loud late at night thanks to Airbnb guest with ladies. Too popular and overhyped, and too many people imo. Management are strict. Diana Estate are outdated .... many units are very old inside, some units get all the noise from TreeTown bar area across the road. Traffic outside are insane!

Quote from OP. "a feeling of embarrassment even humiliation from being someone not so long ago could climb a mountain if needed to to now having to be pushed around to go anywhere at all. " Sorry quote function didn't work from OP. I am in the same situation as you currently, after many surgeries with complications. Already researched all types of wheelchair. I don't have any to push me, so electric chair of some kind for me. Don't know where you live, but here in Pattaya there are so many wheelchair users, everywhere, and one is a friend of mine. Observed another man outdoors daily, who might have COPD, and wear a oxygen mask, with his 'walker'. My friend in electric wheelchair never felt uncomfortable in any way. Thai people are very helful to him, and he don't feel stared at, or judged by others. He is out and around daily, and often make new friends. For myself, that I might never be able to walk even very short distance again without severe pain, is what bother me the most. 2 years ago I exercised more than 60 km weekly - now less than 0.5 km. Weekly. Take notes where it's easy to access wherever you like to go, to avoid huge frustrations, if wheelchair become a part of life forward. @poppysdad, please stay strong, you are not alone.

Bank account frozen
Shop mak replied to Tayida's topic in Jobs, Economy, Banking, Business, Investments
Most countries around the world would require: Proof. Court ruling. First then might a account be 'frozen'. This can happen fast in 'high profile cases', but for the rest of us, will take months, at best. If a small sum, consider the cost for attorney and court fee, before anything else.
