I'll check out what youtube says. These two seem to be the most popular. Do you pay for the apps?
-
From who and for how much?
-
These are all free apps that can be downloaded to the android box? Why do some people pay for passwords and yearly subscription if this is available is it patchy/poor quality? Dropping out during PPVs etc
-
Friend just mentioned this one to me. He said you buy it and then pay for a yearly code/password and it gives you access to all movie/sports/PPV/etc channels. Maybe through some sort of app that you download to the stick im not sure? Fire stick is a bit over 2k to buy on lazada. Whats the difference between it and an android box?

I thought healthcare in Thailand was supposed to be cheap?

Correct. Blood tests either through Nutripath or imedical, the cheapest private blood tests im aware of. You can't get proper blood tests through a GP, for the most part. You get the basics that most people talk about. It's a start but it's not a "full bloods" test. Have a look on the imedical website to see how many hundreds of blood tests are available as opposed to the ten or so that most people are aware of. Example you will struggle to get tested for FT3/4 or TPO unless your TSH is out of the reference range from a GP. Your TSH is not always high/out of RR while having issues with the others. If you know about the others you might be able to convince the doctor to check it or not. Otherwise get your check book out. MRIs through Western Radiology. I got referred for a CT Scan but I chose to pay for an MRI instead. CT Scan would have been covered by medicare, free. All out of hospital MRIs in Oz are self funded, is my understanding but a referral is required from a GP. Most radiology providers are similarly priced for this service. I didn't include any doctors fees in the prices I mentioned, most of them are free in Oz if going to a Bulk Billing (poor area) facility through medicare. Free Gp, Free cryo in house, free run of the mill blood/urine tests. Add $A80 for a full cost GP visit. You can add that fee for the MRI cost in Oz if you want. Skin procedures done through private skin cancer specialist clinics. A skin check might (or not can't remember) be rebated a little $180/190 cost with $50 rebate but there was no rebate on the surgical producers. Pathologist report/dressing changes if required/ Stitches removals included in cost of removals. -

I still have my email quote from them from May last year. They were more expensive than Bangkok Lab for what I wanted. Approx 2-3000 more expensive. They quoted me 15000 baht for what costs 6000 baht in Australia. Definitely one of the most competitive I have found in Bangkok though, worth checking with them. -
With a smart TV What are the best options for this that would encompass all the various streaming services in one app/device? I have had a box in the past where you pay and annual subscription fee and you could get hundreds of channels globally and then search old/new movies and TV shows. Is a box like this still the best option, my subscription is expired and im wondering if its worth renewing?

This is the most basic of blood markers, there is nowhere that does blood tests for health that wouldn't do this test. The problem is finding somebody who can interpret them properly. This is going off topic but What most people dont know is what the reference ranges relate to. Came across this a few times but recently again. Most people - oh great im in the reference range Most people who know about health - Ok im in the reference range today but what was the reference range 30/40/50 years ago when people were actually healthy. The reference ranges are simple a snapshot of the health of the population today. Far less healthy with the industrialised modern food pyramid scam diet than 50 years ago. For example liver function testing. 40 years ago the upper end of the reference range for men for ALT was 20. Today in Australia that has increased to around 40. Simply because the population has gotten less healthy the goalpost get moved. Results shouldn't be interpreted in the context of the population but in the context of optimal health. You won't get this from a normal GP/Doctor etc. 2 hours is fast, 1 week is slow. I've been quoted 470 baht in Bangkok for Lipid Studies: -Cholesterol, HDL/LDL, Non-HDL Cholesterol, Triglycerides, LDL/HDL Ratio, Chol/HDL Ratio -

Blood test example of what I have priced recently. Both private orders. All those who say Im mad, show me where it can be done cheaper, Id love to be proven wrong. Same goes for Dexa scan. This is what im up against any time im looking for a blood test that is any ways out of the ordinary. Not to mention the one month waiting time for these results in Bangkok. BKK 16,750 baht Aus 11,000 baht -

All quotes/work carried out was from private clinics in Australia. I got serval quotes in BKK. Many wouldn't quote likely because they want to lock you in and screw you (seems to be the general consensus Ive read on many forums), The prices I quoted were either the cheapest I got or the only quote I could get. One melanoma and two pre melanoma can't remember the technical term all needed to be removed with urgency. $350 each. $180 for skin check and three biopsies. I didn't I used a place called Bangkok Lab. Emailed at least 10 places and they either didn't do the test I wanted or were more expensive than where I went. Probably changes from hospital to hospital. I spent a night at government hospital in Koh Chang and it's not a place I would like to be in a dodgy situation without speaking Thai or having the support of a trusted Thai local. I would think that's true fore the most part in all government hospitals. Was in government hospital in Buriram last year and that was an eye opener. Absolute rammed. 7 or 8 story car park wedged from about 8am in the morning in the hope to get seen on that day. Im sure most leave and hope they get luckier they next day. I figured out after about an hour we weren't going to get seen so left. Ive asked many local clinics to do this. They all say need to go to hospital. Has this been your experience? -

Many and varied not the yearly checkup BS which is the most basic of blood tests. Probably dentistry and cosmetic surgery for the most part. -

You leave the place with the highest skin cancer rates in the world and the most experience to get a check carried out to the place with one of the lowest skin cancers rates in the world because you save $100? Yikes. -
Ais seems to be the cheapest, even when signing up for 12 months compared to 6 months for True. No early contract closure options. 249 month with 50/20 speeds. Speed should be fine for me I dont need anything groundbreaking.
-
This is the issue with going into the shop, I expect I won't get the best deals. Your sounds quite good. I'll keep it in mind when asking in the shops. Is this unlimited data? Is the offers usually unlimited data? How does the 300/300 offer compare to actual speeds? From what I can gather that's more than fast enough for my needs. Was there a lock in contract length?
-
Is this Lad Prao? I'll take a look online see the closest shops and pop in to see what they say and go from there.
-
This is what I have on my phone. Like I say im above the reach for phone signal on my floor, it seems to get worse the higher you go. Also dont seem to be able to hotspot from phone to TV
-
I'll need more data if im using TV/YT streaming. Just have laptop hotspot through my phone right now but TV streaming doesn't work through phone.
-
Im above what seems to be the reach for phone signal in my condo. Coverage is poor. I want to get a provider into my room. I talked to Jurisitic office who gave me three brochures. AIS, True and 3BB. None of which I can read but im guessing I could use any of these. The dates do seem to be outdated though. What the best deals going around now or how can I check what suits me? I dont need super fast speeds just fast enough for speed spread over streaming TV, Laptop and phone with a sizeable amount of data. No lock in contract would be better but could do short term one.

Unfortunately I've had some health issues lately that I've needed to address. Anything that I have looked into has been more expensive, easily more expensive in Thailand than in Australia. Is this medical tourism in Thailand that gets promoted everywhere a total scam or what? The only things that I can see that is cheaper in Thailand than in Australia is dentistry and certain types of cosmetic surgery. I have had minor dentistry done, it's cheaper. I've talked to some people who have had cosmetic stuff done. Even with cosmetic stuff im not sure it's ever cheaper in Thailand. My friend who lived in Thailand had to get a nose reconstruction done (too much Muay Thai). The price he was given in Thailand was on par with a top well renowned surgeon in Melbourne. It was actually a better deal being offered to go there and get it done all included due to aftercare service etc.\ In my own recent experience. 1. Surgery to remove melanomas. 3 excisions needed. In Australia total cost including after hours nurse care available to change dressings or get recommendations if infected - 24,500 baht Three separate surgeries on three separate days due to regulations about anaesthetic carried out over the space of 7 days. Included pathology report for the excisions and fourth visit to check on healing and if stitches could come out before I returned to Thailand. Samitijev Bangkok (who were very helpful/responsive) 7000 baht for a body scan. I had all the results in technical detail from Oz after getting 3 biopsies. Im not sure what their plan would have been. If they weren't willing to accept the doctor/pathology report from Australia would they have done a biopsy on the biopsy? Couldn't get any hospital to commit to a price. I struggle to see how this would have been done for anything less than 50,000 here, possibly much more with plenty of scope for price gouging. 2. Quote for a Dexa body composition scan. Australia including short consult - 2300 baht Vejthani Hospital incl consult - starts from 7000-8000 baht Trying to find other prices, anyone? 3. Blood tests Private tests in Australia - 11,200 BangkokLab - 17,500 Above is a recent quote. I have used Bangkok lab last year to get quite a few readings and they were the cheapest I could find at the time after sending many emails. They were alot more expensive compared to Australia. In Aus tests would have costs less than 6000 baht and I paid 16,000 baht. 4. MRI Australia I paid what ended up being 9500 for this. It would have been 7500 but I needed to get contrast injected so it cost more. This included the cost of the referral fee and report from radiologist. In Thailand seems to be anywhere from 9000-20,000 baht. I really can't get over why and how expensive healthcare is here. Maybe when it comes to big operations where you have to stay overnight for a few nights that things become alot cheaper here but I've yet to see it?

Yikes. Keep doing what? I didn’t know there was a branch of stem cell therapy that involved urine? Sounds like Music to the ears for some deviants on their way to LK.
-
The reason I was curious about it is because I got an MRI on my thoracic spine while in Australia and it showed up some issues. I have knee pain sometimes when exercising that I have never had until recently. I know they inject locally where the focus of injury is but I would have thought there would be crossover in all aspects of health when administered with mesenchymal cells? This is not something I am seriously considering right now but Im keen to learn more about it for future reference. Seems to be plenty of places in Bangkok offering it but not sure how much confidence I would have in any of them.
-
This is what has stood out to me also from the bit of searching I've done. From what I can see mesenchymal cells seems to be the best form of treatment. Picking a reputable provider is paramount. Ive read of tests that were done on different providers where the amount of cells claimed they provided were way lower than reality and in some rare cases there was none administered at all. From what I can tell the best clinics are in South America. Taking advantage of proximity to the US which seems to have demand for this type of treatment. Many famous former and current celebrities/sports stars have claimed they got incredible results. Some come across as advertising and others seem personal opinion. Ive read some google reviews on some clinics and they are mixed but google reviews can't be trusted either. Ive yet to see a candid video of someone who went and got treated that said it was a waste of money. Its only early days in my research of this.

Has anybody gotten this treatment in Thailand or elsewhere? What are your experience in doing so?
