  1. You leave the place with the highest skin cancer rates in the world and the most experience to get a check carried out to the place with one of the lowest skin cancers rates in the world because you save $100? Yikes.
  2. Ais seems to be the cheapest, even when signing up for 12 months compared to 6 months for True. No early contract closure options. 249 month with 50/20 speeds. Speed should be fine for me I dont need anything groundbreaking.
  3. This is the issue with going into the shop, I expect I won't get the best deals. Your sounds quite good. I'll keep it in mind when asking in the shops. Is this unlimited data? Is the offers usually unlimited data? How does the 300/300 offer compare to actual speeds? From what I can gather that's more than fast enough for my needs. Was there a lock in contract length?
  4. Is this Lad Prao? I'll take a look online see the closest shops and pop in to see what they say and go from there.
  5. This is what I have on my phone. Like I say im above the reach for phone signal on my floor, it seems to get worse the higher you go. Also dont seem to be able to hotspot from phone to TV
  6. I'll need more data if im using TV/YT streaming. Just have laptop hotspot through my phone right now but TV streaming doesn't work through phone.
  7. Im above what seems to be the reach for phone signal in my condo. Coverage is poor. I want to get a provider into my room. I talked to Jurisitic office who gave me three brochures. AIS, True and 3BB. None of which I can read but im guessing I could use any of these. The dates do seem to be outdated though. What the best deals going around now or how can I check what suits me? I dont need super fast speeds just fast enough for speed spread over streaming TV, Laptop and phone with a sizeable amount of data. No lock in contract would be better but could do short term one.
  8. Unfortunately I've had some health issues lately that I've needed to address. Anything that I have looked into has been more expensive, easily more expensive in Thailand than in Australia. Is this medical tourism in Thailand that gets promoted everywhere a total scam or what? The only things that I can see that is cheaper in Thailand than in Australia is dentistry and certain types of cosmetic surgery. I have had minor dentistry done, it's cheaper. I've talked to some people who have had cosmetic stuff done. Even with cosmetic stuff im not sure it's ever cheaper in Thailand. My friend who lived in Thailand had to get a nose reconstruction done (too much Muay Thai). The price he was given in Thailand was on par with a top well renowned surgeon in Melbourne. It was actually a better deal being offered to go there and get it done all included due to aftercare service etc.\ In my own recent experience. 1. Surgery to remove melanomas. 3 excisions needed. In Australia total cost including after hours nurse care available to change dressings or get recommendations if infected - 24,500 baht Three separate surgeries on three separate days due to regulations about anaesthetic carried out over the space of 7 days. Included pathology report for the excisions and fourth visit to check on healing and if stitches could come out before I returned to Thailand. Samitijev Bangkok (who were very helpful/responsive) 7000 baht for a body scan. I had all the results in technical detail from Oz after getting 3 biopsies. Im not sure what their plan would have been. If they weren't willing to accept the doctor/pathology report from Australia would they have done a biopsy on the biopsy? Couldn't get any hospital to commit to a price. I struggle to see how this would have been done for anything less than 50,000 here, possibly much more with plenty of scope for price gouging. 2. Quote for a Dexa body composition scan. Australia including short consult - 2300 baht Vejthani Hospital incl consult - starts from 7000-8000 baht Trying to find other prices, anyone? 3. Blood tests Private tests in Australia - 11,200 BangkokLab - 17,500 Above is a recent quote. I have used Bangkok lab last year to get quite a few readings and they were the cheapest I could find at the time after sending many emails. They were alot more expensive compared to Australia. In Aus tests would have costs less than 6000 baht and I paid 16,000 baht. 4. MRI Australia I paid what ended up being 9500 for this. It would have been 7500 but I needed to get contrast injected so it cost more. This included the cost of the referral fee and report from radiologist. In Thailand seems to be anywhere from 9000-20,000 baht. I really can't get over why and how expensive healthcare is here. Maybe when it comes to big operations where you have to stay overnight for a few nights that things become alot cheaper here but I've yet to see it?
  9. Yikes. Keep doing what? I didn’t know there was a branch of stem cell therapy that involved urine? Sounds like Music to the ears for some deviants on their way to LK.
  10. The reason I was curious about it is because I got an MRI on my thoracic spine while in Australia and it showed up some issues. I have knee pain sometimes when exercising that I have never had until recently. I know they inject locally where the focus of injury is but I would have thought there would be crossover in all aspects of health when administered with mesenchymal cells? This is not something I am seriously considering right now but Im keen to learn more about it for future reference. Seems to be plenty of places in Bangkok offering it but not sure how much confidence I would have in any of them.
  11. This is what has stood out to me also from the bit of searching I've done. From what I can see mesenchymal cells seems to be the best form of treatment. Picking a reputable provider is paramount. Ive read of tests that were done on different providers where the amount of cells claimed they provided were way lower than reality and in some rare cases there was none administered at all. From what I can tell the best clinics are in South America. Taking advantage of proximity to the US which seems to have demand for this type of treatment. Many famous former and current celebrities/sports stars have claimed they got incredible results. Some come across as advertising and others seem personal opinion. Ive read some google reviews on some clinics and they are mixed but google reviews can't be trusted either. Ive yet to see a candid video of someone who went and got treated that said it was a waste of money. Its only early days in my research of this.
  12. Has anybody gotten this treatment in Thailand or elsewhere? What are your experience in doing so?
  13. A total miscarriage of justice. To any one that says any different you better hope it never happens to you. No charges, no criminal history. An absolute joke.
  14. Not really. In the two places I mentioned in my opening post, you can all but guarentee that you would sell your car, if it is a genuine car and is priced 5-10% below the midpoint of most of whats available on the market similar spec Everyman and his dog here seems to want a Hilux/Ranger/Isuzu for whatever reason, practicality/safety/work, I dont know. I have no idea how you could sell one of those on without something to set it apart and that is likely being a huge discount compared to new price. Im thinking it's something to do with borrowing structures the reason why people are hell bent on something brand new? Is it difficult to get finance when buying from a private owner as opposed to buying from a dealer. Also lower loan rates when buying new compared to used? This is not possible now?
  15. I love my cars. Im Trying to grasp the market here in Thailand. In the UK/Aus if you buy a new car you know your very likely going to be able to sell that car on at any stage really of ownership (outside times of recession) at the going market rate or price it more keenly if you want it gone quickly. Unless it's a very rare/expensive car then it might be more patchy. In UK if the car is one you're really interested in you would likely be willing to travel anywhere in the country to see it. In Australia given its size, not so much but also possible if it's a rare car. It's also possible to get an independent inspection done instead of travelling yourself or if it's in a dealership with what you deem as a good reputation you might take your chances. In the UK the go to place to sell a car used to be Autotrader and I think it's more pistonheads now. In Australia its carsales. How does the Thai market compare? Is there a go to place where everybody would list their vehicles because its the go to online marketplace? Could you be stuck with a car for a long time not being able to offload it like you might be with a property?
  16. Thailand doesn't turn a blind eye, It just struggles to enforce it. If they could captures those taxes no doubt they would. You can legally accrue capital gains abroad and bring into Thailand if it's not in the year you earned it. My understanding of US sourced dividends is what you describe. In Australia they have whats called Fully Franked dividends where the company has already paid the tax on the earnings and it's not taxed again. In this case there is no withholding taxes on the dividends.
  17. Fair. Im thinking 70s onwards. The really cool old Japanese types and BMW/Mercs etc
  18. For Thailand its not even just your gains because if you dont bring your gains back into the country in the CY then they won't be taxed. If you read back through the thread I was the first one to bring this up. As in its seems like total nonsense to me too but The poster on here claimed he was audited but had consulted with PWC about the tax laws here prior to that and he explains it in earlier posts that what he was told by PWC was also told the same as he was told during the audit by revenue/immigration. He says it has nothing to do with earning money anywhere it's only the way in which you bring it into the country or in his case keep it in a bank in Singapore. I can only think that what he says he says logically and it must be true if its coming from PWC. Any website I read says something along the lines of "However, any income you earn during the year but leave in a bank account outside of Thailand is not subject to taxes. This means, if you make money abroad and don’t want to pay income taxes on it in Thailand, you must leave the money in a foreign bank account and send it to Thailand during the next calendar year. " "If you’re a tax-resident, your foreign income will be taxed when you bring it into Thailand in the same calendar year. For example, if you make money abroad in 2021 and bring it into Thailand in the same year, you must pay taxes on this foreign income. On the other hand, if you bring it into Thailand in 2022 onward, then it’s not subject to Thailand income tax. " https://www.expatden.com/thailand/thailand-income-tax-for-foreigners/
  19. Withholding tax on bank interest is the same for residents and non residents, it seems?
  20. *Deleted post edited out* I found this on this website https://www.thaiembassy.com/faq/do-retirees-pay-income-tax Only income earned inside Thailand shall be subjected to tax during retirement. Therefore, you will not be obliged to pay any taxes for any income you have earned from overseas. Also, personal income taxes are not required for retirees in Thailand. Note that you can’t work in Thailand while on a retirement visa. but then i found this also; https://msnagroup.com/tax-on-monthly-pension-in-thailand/ Clear as mud
  21. Tax how and for who? Taxation depends on your tax residency/if there is tax treaties in place etc so your tax situation could be different to everyone else but there is probably withholdings taxes on dividends in US?
  22. I think I highlighted the nonsensical-ness you talk about. It doesn't matter if you invested $100k and lost 50% or gained 50%, if you then go ahead and transfer that sum of money into your "dedicated Thai bank account (which isn't even in Thailand)' after you already have lodged something into that account that calendar year then you are taxable on the full amount. It has nothing to do with making any gains and everything to do with lodging money at any given time of year. Still makes zero sense to me now but that's what PCW say so who are we to argue?
  23. Nope, all the brainwashed idiots have made their minds up and know everything about Tate from reading a few headlines in the newspapers and a few 60 second mashed up clips to show them what they are to believe. Bite down my little minions and swallow hard. These people I present to you is the true scourge of our society and the reason why the world is in such organised chaos. It started with Assange and now here we are. All falsely imprisoned. Add Tommy Robinson to that list too.
