  1. Wouldn't accept my cards a few days go. Paid cash
  2. Is this a trolling post? They ask me do I want coke every time I walk past them. I presumed they did that to every Westerner under 60. Do I look rich, do I look like a junkie or do I look like a mug? ????
  3. I notice the PM just got treated at Phramongkutklao hospital. Any reason why he would have chosen this one, has it got a good reputation?
  4. I didn't think you could open a Wise account as a Thai resident Or is it just a debit card they dont provide? https://wise.com/help/articles/2968915/can-i-get-the-wise-card-in-my-country?clickref=1011lwCmuxnu&partnerID=1101l59062&utm_medium=affiliate&utm_campaign=0&adref=&utm_source=nomadgate&partnerizecampaignID=1101l644
  5. The box I have right now is called the "T95", is anybody familiar with this? Ive lost the remote but can order another one through lazada. Maybe I can download some apps onto this instead of having to buy a fire stick
  6. Pirate bay is still a thing? I thought that had disappeared.
  7. How do you download what you want to watch? Id like to be able to watch ppv live so I don’t think it would cover all my needs but still something I’d like to be able to do.
  8. The advertisements I got from the Jurisdic office had a line number that I contacted directly. He was wearing an AIS jacket. Like other poster said, fairly basic procedure.
  9. Used to do this with Vuze. How is it done nowadays? I have a hard drive plugged into side of the TV and this is what ive been suing last few weeks.
  10. Fast enough for these streaming TV apps/services?
  11. What apps do you use? Is there anything the apps dont cover?
  12. Already bought and installed within 24 hours.
  13. I'll check out what youtube says. These two seem to be the most popular. Do you pay for the apps?
  14. These are all free apps that can be downloaded to the android box? Why do some people pay for passwords and yearly subscription if this is available is it patchy/poor quality? Dropping out during PPVs etc
  15. Friend just mentioned this one to me. He said you buy it and then pay for a yearly code/password and it gives you access to all movie/sports/PPV/etc channels. Maybe through some sort of app that you download to the stick im not sure? Fire stick is a bit over 2k to buy on lazada. Whats the difference between it and an android box?
  16. Correct. Blood tests either through Nutripath or imedical, the cheapest private blood tests im aware of. You can't get proper blood tests through a GP, for the most part. You get the basics that most people talk about. It's a start but it's not a "full bloods" test. Have a look on the imedical website to see how many hundreds of blood tests are available as opposed to the ten or so that most people are aware of. Example you will struggle to get tested for FT3/4 or TPO unless your TSH is out of the reference range from a GP. Your TSH is not always high/out of RR while having issues with the others. If you know about the others you might be able to convince the doctor to check it or not. Otherwise get your check book out. MRIs through Western Radiology. I got referred for a CT Scan but I chose to pay for an MRI instead. CT Scan would have been covered by medicare, free. All out of hospital MRIs in Oz are self funded, is my understanding but a referral is required from a GP. Most radiology providers are similarly priced for this service. I didn't include any doctors fees in the prices I mentioned, most of them are free in Oz if going to a Bulk Billing (poor area) facility through medicare. Free Gp, Free cryo in house, free run of the mill blood/urine tests. Add $A80 for a full cost GP visit. You can add that fee for the MRI cost in Oz if you want. Skin procedures done through private skin cancer specialist clinics. A skin check might (or not can't remember) be rebated a little $180/190 cost with $50 rebate but there was no rebate on the surgical producers. Pathologist report/dressing changes if required/ Stitches removals included in cost of removals.
  17. I still have my email quote from them from May last year. They were more expensive than Bangkok Lab for what I wanted. Approx 2-3000 more expensive. They quoted me 15000 baht for what costs 6000 baht in Australia. Definitely one of the most competitive I have found in Bangkok though, worth checking with them.
  18. With a smart TV What are the best options for this that would encompass all the various streaming services in one app/device? I have had a box in the past where you pay and annual subscription fee and you could get hundreds of channels globally and then search old/new movies and TV shows. Is a box like this still the best option, my subscription is expired and im wondering if its worth renewing?
  19. This is the most basic of blood markers, there is nowhere that does blood tests for health that wouldn't do this test. The problem is finding somebody who can interpret them properly. This is going off topic but What most people dont know is what the reference ranges relate to. Came across this a few times but recently again. Most people - oh great im in the reference range Most people who know about health - Ok im in the reference range today but what was the reference range 30/40/50 years ago when people were actually healthy. The reference ranges are simple a snapshot of the health of the population today. Far less healthy with the industrialised modern food pyramid scam diet than 50 years ago. For example liver function testing. 40 years ago the upper end of the reference range for men for ALT was 20. Today in Australia that has increased to around 40. Simply because the population has gotten less healthy the goalpost get moved. Results shouldn't be interpreted in the context of the population but in the context of optimal health. You won't get this from a normal GP/Doctor etc. 2 hours is fast, 1 week is slow. I've been quoted 470 baht in Bangkok for Lipid Studies: -Cholesterol, HDL/LDL, Non-HDL Cholesterol, Triglycerides, LDL/HDL Ratio, Chol/HDL Ratio
  20. Blood test example of what I have priced recently. Both private orders. All those who say Im mad, show me where it can be done cheaper, Id love to be proven wrong. Same goes for Dexa scan. This is what im up against any time im looking for a blood test that is any ways out of the ordinary. Not to mention the one month waiting time for these results in Bangkok. BKK 16,750 baht Aus 11,000 baht
  21. All quotes/work carried out was from private clinics in Australia. I got serval quotes in BKK. Many wouldn't quote likely because they want to lock you in and screw you (seems to be the general consensus Ive read on many forums), The prices I quoted were either the cheapest I got or the only quote I could get. One melanoma and two pre melanoma can't remember the technical term all needed to be removed with urgency. $350 each. $180 for skin check and three biopsies. I didn't I used a place called Bangkok Lab. Emailed at least 10 places and they either didn't do the test I wanted or were more expensive than where I went. Probably changes from hospital to hospital. I spent a night at government hospital in Koh Chang and it's not a place I would like to be in a dodgy situation without speaking Thai or having the support of a trusted Thai local. I would think that's true fore the most part in all government hospitals. Was in government hospital in Buriram last year and that was an eye opener. Absolute rammed. 7 or 8 story car park wedged from about 8am in the morning in the hope to get seen on that day. Im sure most leave and hope they get luckier they next day. I figured out after about an hour we weren't going to get seen so left. Ive asked many local clinics to do this. They all say need to go to hospital. Has this been your experience?
  22. Many and varied not the yearly checkup BS which is the most basic of blood tests. Probably dentistry and cosmetic surgery for the most part.
