  1. I've been reading in Thai forums, the Thais aren't mincing their words for this man and his wife. They are calling the wife an idiot and other names too graphic to type here haha. Many are also blaming their government and police for being corrupt, that's why many of his likes are thriving in Phuket. They made a hashtag #Getoutfarang(in Thai), which you can see under YT comments in Thai news as well. But I agree with others that deporting him quick gives no or less justice. If not jail, some form of community service that he can't imagine he'll do in his life ever, something like that.
  2. I don't think it's the Thai immigration's fault alone as they weren't like that just few years back. I feel like the immigration here tipped them off for the same human trafficking issue. I actually believe that the Philippine-immigration is the one that tips other ASEAN countries to make the screening harder for Filipinas, most especially the younger ones who fly solo or to meet their partners in Thailand. It has something to do with the government not wanting to shell out money or save their fellow citizens when things go bad abroad. Then on the Thai side, they also don't want to take the burden of such issues which will give them "headaches." Like I have mentioned earlier, I'm all for rescuing women from human-trafficking, but it's not fair to give hell to those who just want to go on a trip, regardless if they will meet a bf or not.
  3. True that. Filipinas with foreign boyfriends need to attend a certain seminar and get a certificate before leaving the country. The immigration also checks the phone for photos if you have been together already or you are meeting somewhere for the first time. I get that they are being cautious for human-trafficking, but they go over the line as to even tell these women they might be prostitutes! However, I am not aware it's also hard for them to enter Thailand. What's the deal with that?
  4. At least it's SK's interrogating Thais or Thais interrogating other nationalities. I am currently in the Philippines for vacation and people here are complaining that their own immigration interrogates them like hell when leaving the country. They also "off-load" right and left their own people even if they are genuinely going for just a tour/trip. Have you ever heard of an immigration officer asking their fellow citizen to show 10 birth certificates and year book? It happened in the Philippines.
  5. It's scary to think how many more of them are out there, either hiding as a teacher or as a "normal" employee or even in top level jobs. So many Brits sick in the head in Thailand!🀨🀒
  6. Oh yeah he's not a pedo but an ephebophile!
  7. There are many teachers who are Americans, Canadians, Australians and South Africans as well.
  8. Years ago a British pedo was also caught in the IS my sister was studying at. The time in the late 90s and early 2000 when I was in secondary, there were about 5 British pedophiles caught from different schools. Why is it often British though? No hate and all as I had brilliant British teachers too. I'm just curious that most of the pedophiles caught here are British.
  9. I gave it a try when I was 15, but it hated me! I got accidentally hit by a golf ball on the side of my head. I blacked out for a minute but luckily survived.πŸ˜πŸ˜„
  10. It's kind of childish to think this way. Just because some Thais are doing it, then it's ok for foreigners too or the other way around.
  11. Not being an ageist or anything. But I think presidential candidates should have an age limit. It should be not more than 65, mentally and physically fit. You want a leader who "leads," the one when you see and listen, you'd feel a strong sense of leadership. Not the one you'd want to say, "Let's go Brandon" to or throw grumpy old tirades just for the heck of it. Gone are the days when it's hard to choose who you'd vote for because of their high qualifications, not just in the US but noticed in a lot of other countries too.
  12. I never had a problem in Nana. My friends and I would go to restaurants, pubs, and clubs there back in my 20s. We would go to restaurants with hookah before or after clubbing. Sometimes just us ladies, other times with our guy friends. But that was around 2000 until 2010+ Nightlife in Bangkok was a lot safer then. Not sure of how it is lately, last time I was in Nana was just to buy some spices in an Arab shop haha.
  13. It would be nice if both!πŸ˜…
  14. There's a big possibility of that. It's an open secret actually haha. They do hire other Southeast Asians who can speak Thai.
  15. Which nationality is winning so far?;)
  16. Some Chinese take advantage of them knowing they are sought after by the Thais to boost their tourism.
  17. What reputation is it exactly? They keep going on about Pattaya's reputation when it has been like that from a very long time! Many go there for sex tourism, it is known globally to be "that place." It's like trying to cover a hole with gum, you know it's bound not to stick for a long time.
  18. By now you'd think lesson has been learned, unfortunately they think showing off their bling is the way to go!
  19. Even as a woman, I would not tolerate such behavior. I'm sorry OP, she doesn't want to see your kid because of "motherly love," it's pathetic that she's using the kid as a form or way to take you to a boiling point or points. No loving/sane mother would put their kid/kids in such situation or drama. She's pushing you to the point of destruction, probably taking videos to capture your reaction in her craziness. She wants you to get so mad as to record that moment and use it against you in one hell or another. I agree with others who advice you to talk with your lawyer and go through whatever possible way to put a stop on her madness.
  20. I'm currently in Manila, and every day I see busload of Chinese tourists here. They seem polite and just enjoying their time, so despite of China and Philippines being frenemies...
  21. They are rowdy teenagers with some looking like primary students according to the full story. It's also not the first time as they have been doing it to random foreigners. They stop for 2-3 days then come back doing the same thing. Thai business owners and some other Thais in the area already told the police about it. I gave you a summary, now give me iced coffee or else...πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ€πŸ§Ÿβ€β™€οΈ
  22. They should be kept for a while in jail first before kicking them out. Deporting them now would be a slap in the wrist. If police would go on a thorough background check of Elite visa holders, many of them are criminals.
  23. I'm a product of IS in Bangkok circa 90s. We had one Thai class a week, so my mom hired a tutor. I had a Thai tutor coming in our place twice a week for 1.5 hours and that's for 3 years. Since I love learning languages, I became almost fluent in speaking, reading and writing after those 3 years near native level. I don't have Thai blood, so I couldn't really practice it at home a lot. Just get a good tutor, the one who is dedicated in teaching and not just earning. Your daughter being half Thai has a great advantage already, she'll be fluent faster.
  24. Cha-ching...cha-ching...chaaaa-chingg! πŸ€‘ πŸ€‘ πŸ€‘
