  1. the hormone therapy is a treatment for breast cancer, it depends on the breast cancer subtype. Some are affected by oestrogen. It's standard practice around to world to provide hormone therapy in cases where it's required (you find out after tumour markers are done on the excised tumour).
  2. Exactly, construction standards here are so far behind the UK and US
  3. How's the build quality of the buildings? Did it feel flimsy? or solidly built? Any issues with rain damage or sinkage?
  4. Hey, so I'm planning on getting a Moo-baan Budget is 50-100M THB. My issue is having a look at Moo Baans around Bangkok, the quality is really sub par compared to US/UK houses. The ones I've looked at are supposed to be near the top end, but they've all been underwhelming and not worth the money IMO. Such lazy design, copy and pasting from each other most of them, actually embarassing for the developers I think, it really tells they don't give a <deleted> and have no eye for quality and design. Sansiri 3/10 - Narasiri 3/10 , Bugaan 4/10 - so bad, like embarrasingly so, sansiri are really riding the coattails of the brand, and delivery what I consider a pile of crap and marking up extortionatey IMO L&H - NANTAWAN 3/10, poor (old) design, poor quality. Lack of facilities. L&H- Vive 8/10, modern design, decent build quality, lack of facilities, very reasonably priced in comparison to all the other top ranges. Penton Ari Suttisan 5/10 - Not worth the money, decent design, poor build quality. Malton Gates 1/10 - One of the worst developments I've seen, such poor quality vs money asked for, awfully dated designs, poor internal space design (using what I call the basic moo baan template), whoever is buying this is nuts. Providence Lane 6/10 - Good design, decent quality, but size is an issue, wish they had bigger units. Park Heritage 6/10 - Good design, and decent quality again, good facilities (love the golf sim), but location down a tiny soi isn't quite what people paying close to 100M are looking for. Arna Rama 9 4/10 - very meh, quality isn't good, design is meh. Marq Exquiste 7/10 - decent design lay out, quality was acceptable, but clubhouse and facilities too small, I was actually quite keen on it, but wife veto'd it due to drive way size. What is the obsession with Moo Baans and having high ceilings with a half floor? All I see is a waste of space and extra work for the airconditioning units to cool the place. I actually know someone who worked on a few resorts in Thailand brought in to manage the construction projects and he told me these days everyone is just cheaping out which is so sad. Do you guys have any recommendations for developments or developers in Bangkok? I'm thinking the The Collection Riverfront by Altitude potentially, but they haven't really started marketing for it, and I've never seen their other development projects, if anyone has anything to say about them let me know.
  5. Houses and properties built in Thailand generally are pretty poor compared to western standards. It blows my mind how some of the even most expensive can be so bad, some of them worth 100,000,000 + houses their designs and quality are just so poor. Developers in Thailand are just embarassing.
  6. Holy <deleted> 200THB per tray, that's mental. I guess they're charging that due to their location I used to pay only 40THB per tray at RAMA 3 and Pines and they've been steadily increasing over the last 4 years to now 80THB which I already think is extortionate, but they're both always packed full with people and queues for ages, so I'm not surprised prices are going up. The ol demand and supply I guess. Rama 3 range is even adding a queue skip option if you pay extra and pre pay on their booking system via line. I was thinking they were really milking their customers. There's also Topgolf these days in Bangna, that's always good fun. They've got a special promo of 350THB for 1 hour unlimited balls for single person per bay, or 550THB per bay if you have more people. (Guess they're really struggling, cos their full price is also insane given their location).
  7. Got fitted in Thailand, but it came free with buying the a new set. Problem is, I don't think they did a good job of it, I guess it being free should have tipped me off. Agree with others, if you have a handicap like me around 10-15, then it's probably pointless, golf lessons will probably be more useful. Having said that, my golf coach did tell me I needed to get my clubs fitted (after they should have been already!) since he thought my grip was too thick for my size hands, and that the clubs were 1 inch too long for me. He does think it will make a difference now as my handicap is starting to come down, and my basics are a bit more covered.
  8. I go to: Outdoor: Rama 3 Driving range Pines Club Driving Range & Fitness Indoor: Friends Screen Golf Tom Dingwell/Ping Indoor During summer season and Rainy season I go indoors typically.
  9. I mean, that should be the standard stance . Why is everyone getting so worked up about other people's diet and health?
  10. The usual ones I guess Stick and MIG Stick and TIG Stick, MIG and Lift TIG Only the 3 in 1's advertising MMA/MIG/TIG are usually with lift TIG, there aren't really any true MIG/TIG's out there anyway. Like you said, it's usually better to get a MIG or TIG machine that can weld stick electrodes rather than doing too much. Got one of their MIG machines for my workshop a couple years back (MIG200S), no issues with it, very happy with it so far do some simple welding with gasless wires. Not too overly expensive given a decent machine.
  11. Try Kovet, they have good English support team, warranty etc avaliable. Strong brand in welding. https://www.kovet.com/ Have a range of welding machines for MMA/MIG/TIG Some Multi-Process. Wide price-range depending on budget.
  12. Yea I think a TM30 has been done, since I last got residency certificate previously and my wife sorted it out. I don't think I've kept me last TM47 since that was almost a year ago already, I've only just returned to Thailand a few months ago to redo my annual extension and use the multi-entry quite often so don't often have to do the 90 day reporting, but yes I have done it at CW in the past. I'm assuming I need to do the TM 18 for the residence certificate. Also, for driving lisence purposes, can I use my work permit instead of the residence certificate? or do they insist on having the residence certificate (work permit just been approved and was done by my work place so if I can just use that, it'd be easier)
  13. Bangkok, I normally use chaengwattana immigration, I just had my visa renewed so haven't done a 90 day report yet.
  14. 19,000 THB????? is this some kind of joke?
  15. If I'm not in a house book, is there any way around it?
  16. Hi everyone I need a residents certificate and was told get at the embassy, I checked with the British embassy and the person over the phone says they don't issue it. Anyone know where I can get a residents certificate from? (It's for driving lisence) Thanks
  17. I do live in TH now, as far as I can see, relatively speak, the no. of charing stations now in Thailand, is about the same as UK around 8-10 years ago, maybe a bit more, but the adoption rate of EV in Thailand is much faster than UK was around 8-10 years ago. The main difference is supply. A decade ago there were some but not that many EV suppliers maybe each of the bigger names had one or two in their range, now each have about 5-6 EV ranges and then there's the Chinese EVs entering markets everywhere. The chinese EV's are very popular due to price point. The UK would have experienced charging congestion earlier if not for the pandemic, but I would say it took around 5-10 years in the UK for no. of EVs to outstrip CS supply. I think Thailand will be even faster, I reckon at this rate if CS installations aren't ampted up, it will outstrip CS supply in 2-3 years. Then again, I know nothing, just a random's pointless opinon.
  18. Do you have a link for this? Thanks Edit: nevermind - saw the link further down the thread
  19. I think what most people are talking about here is Thai people and their perception of brand and EVs Thai people care more about brand and price, Tesla's were <deleted> using the supercar spaces in car parks when they were first being imported into Thailand. This has an impact on Thai's and their perception of the brand. Most Thai people who can afford a Tesla Model 3 are similar to those Elon worshiping masses, they care more abou the bragging rights than the actual build quality and functionality of the car. Comes down to face as usual. Tesla is seen as premium whereas Ora Good Cats are seen as the entry level EV. Looking at Tesla's pricing 1.75M THB starting price, I can definitley see lots of them being shipped here. Also Thai people are fairly quick to adopt tech sometimes without a full understanding of them, and EVs are definitley something the average Thai would buy without thinking about their downsides such as charing networks or support in Thailand etc. Re: charging network, I agree with most here that that would be my main concern about getting an EV in Thailand From my experience in the UK: Tesla's - fun toy, but would not buy for long term use, maybe more of rental. Would prefer to get a BMW/Merc/Audi EV. Kia,Hyundai, Volvo are also worth considering over Tesla if serious about getting an EV Charging network - depends on adoption of EV, about a decade ago when I first had an EV, charging was easy-ish, there was a small network but small numbers so always had a charging port ready for me. Now in the UK, the ratio of charging stations to EV on the road has grown disproportiontely. In Thailand, my concern would be EV adoption is going to massively out strip charing station installations, the good news for city users is that charging stations can be installed at homes, and I've noted quite a few friends and colleagues who have done this and they just charge at home daily so it's not so much of an issue. Some of my Thai friends have said their EV's are just city cars and they still own a petrol car for out of city driving which made sense to me.
  20. Yea, I'd go with scoth brite The lazada one looks like it's from China too, the Lazada/Shopee Chinese no name brands have a tendancy to suck
  21. They usually refund as credit to your Grab account don't they? That's been my experience.
  22. something something cold artic winds, global warming etc
  23. This. I'm done with buying no name brands from Lazada. Always go kaboom after a while, 0 support afterwards, just goes straight into the bin. Got a welding machine (MIG200S) from these guys, thought there was a problem, spoke with them, their engineers called me back and explained what the issue was and got me going with the machine. Customer support is something lacking in the Thai companies usually but I was fairly impressed (by Thai standards).
  24. Man, sorry to hear about the ex-wife, cos it sounds like you had a good thing going. Selling to the modern trades if <deleted> difficult, getting in and keeping up with their extortionate charges. On top of that navigating the FMGC regulations in Thailand is a minefield, I've worked with them in the past and it made me want to shoot myself in the head. The level of corruption is beyond me - literally, like I couldn't get something approved and spoke with some Thai friends who had to go through like 5 degrees of sepeartion of friends before they managed to find the right person to "convince" to get something signed off. Their system is transparent as a brick wall. Sounds like you have a deft skillset there, best of luck with your endeavours!
  25. Are you getting constant customers at the moment? A good way to increase reviews is to get them to do it there and then in the shop with incentives. For example, a special coupon for like X% off your next massage, or a small freebie for a google review/tripadvisor review or both! Something easy for people to do while they enjoy their post massagae tea (if it's offered). Get them to show the review to claim their coupon/freebie.
